I'm not a qualified computer technician but I have some basic computer formatting skills using windows XP,2000 and windows 98. I haven't tried vista or win7 because I don't have an installer of those. Currently my laptop is win7 and i'm used to it. So right now I'm planning to learn how to format a computer to windows 7 because time will come that if my laptop needs to be reformat then I'll be able to fix it my self. Hiring a computer technician to do the job would cost $15-$25 in our country(I could buy 2 shirts for that). For the mean time I'll download an installer of win7 and search the web for a guide about installation of windows 7. In the past i was able to earn some money reformatting computers and i'm still earning sometimes but I really want to learn Installation of windows 7. I believe it's more easier to install than win XP because it's more easier to use. Thanks for reading this post. Happy lotting guys.

Microsoft used to have a problem with piracy in their XP, so it is expected that in Windows 7 they already have installed some features where pirates will have hard time using it or installing it without proper license. So, for those of you who have already used their latest generations of Windows operating systems, how is it? Are they really pirate-proof?

Thanks a lot. I thought installing windows vista or 7 would be different than XP because in my experience winxp and win98 are different and win98 was harder to install you need to memorize certain commands.. Winxp is easy is install and I've made hundreds of reformatting already. I'm not updated to newer windows because i'm not really a computer technician. I'm a teacher in computer.. thanks again. happy lotting.

Hi jac,
I did experienced allocating only 20GB when installing Win 7 OS. It was out of habit to type 20000 when asked to allocate the space for system c when installing Win XP OS. It took me an hour to analyze why Win 7 kept on crashing during installation until I noticed that the system partition is running low on disk space.

The Installation of Windows 7 is quite simple. If you get confused just watch Tutorials in Youtube...Very helpful.
Coming to the gaming area Windows 7 is better than Xp or Vista there is a whole new User friendly interface between Computer and the User.Inbuilt games also have a good 3D Interface.
Windows 7 uses HDD(Hard Disk Space) of around 12GB to 14GB after the Installation.
If you have a
HDD capacity of 250GB & above
RAM of 2GB-4Gb
your computer can have a 3 Star Ratings and will be good with all the applications and the Programs you use...
Windows 7 can be a bit Confusing in the begning but after a while it will be the only OS you will like to Use.

Don't be confused. Installing windows 7 is much easier and faster to install than the other operating systems. Please take note also the requirements of windows 7 before installing it to your computer.

It's the same process. What you need is the bootable CD,then put the Win 7 disc into the disc drive and follow the steps shown in the setup wizard.

But see,if you have an old PC,then Windows 7 may make it run slower because Windows 7 is a more advanced system so better check out the system requirements to see if your PC can run Windows 7.Good luck!

I have tried installing windows 7 for the first time. It is just like xp except you will little get confused from the start. It is much more friendly user than xp. But the problem now is the drivers of your pc. It must be updated online or if you're installer cd support win 7.

It is very easy to format any computer. But there are some steps which you should memorize. And nothing is hectic job. And also when you called any computer technician to your home then he would be charged some good amount to you. So if you have some knowledge about computer then you can also format your computer and install a fresh copy of windows. And as you say that you have a laptop and windows 7 installed on this. And now you want to format it and want to install it again by yourself. So try this and get success in formatting.

In terms of online gaming windows 7 and win xp are just the same as long as your computer has the recommended system requirements to run win7. Winxp still has lots of advantages because it's very stable compare to win7 I think. Many apps or programs still not compatible on win7 like daemon tools.

Ji Jac,
A friend just bought an AMD laptop and I had no trouble installing Win 7 in it. Just like the old style of setting up the BIOS with the DVD-ROM drive as the first boot device, insert Win 7 installer, going through the partitioning and allocation of drives and choosing the partition where to install the OS. The rest is just monitoring the progress of the installation. It is a bit slower to install, it takes around 45 minutes to complete but once it is finished, the computer runs as it is rated.
A mistake I committed on one of the desktop system is to allocate only 20GB for the system partition. It should be at least 90GB for it uses a large space to install. Below that, it just crashes. Needless to say, the HDD should be at least 160GB in storage size.

Windows 7 is easier to install than Windows XP. Even their partition system is really easy unlike XP. If you have an installation background, it would be easy for you to do this. Windows 7 is nice but I still prefer Windows XP SP 3. I can tweak the thing better than a Windows 7.
