I am thinking of traveling alone. And, that would be my firs time to take a trip without a company. I wonder if I could have a good trip alone. And, fears are trying to stop me from doing that. Nowadays, there are many bad people around us. Robbers, murderers, swindlers, rapist and many many more. I am afraid that while traveling I might encounter one of these criminals. I know i have to put in mind that everything will be fine. I need to be strong. I need to be tough. That is what I want to achieve. I am thinking if i travel alone successfully it might add my confidence and courage to myself. I might be as strong as you are. Let me ask you. Have you traveled by yourself? How did you feel about that? How was your experience? I would be very glad to hear your travelling alone stories. It must be fun to read all of them.
Happy mylotting.

Where are you planning to travel to ? Have a wonderful time. Oh, I am sure, with all the confidence you have, the trip will go well, and you will be very happy. If you need, you can join a tour group there, or have a tour guide to help you go around the beautiful places.

First of all, your safety is the most important. Regardless to where you want to travel, this world is a dangerous place and you need to protect yourself. Therefore, if you are really going to go all alone in a trip, avoid going out at night, or try to stick to crowded places. Also, if it is legal in your country or the country you are planning to visit, always keep a pepper spray in your bag. Seriously now, you can never be safe enough!
Secondly, try to make friends with locals! They can be really helpful in showing you around, telling you where to go or not go, helping you when in comes to language problems and many more! Moreover, you can build serious friendships like this. If you have already got friends in other countries, then it's even better. Your trip can only be a success!
I wish you all the best and have a lot of fun in your trip! :)

In my younger days I enjoyed traveling on my own and these days I travel with my 4 year old disabled son and my 2 year old daughter. My first trip alone was around Europe by train when I was 18 years old. I began my journey in Finland where I had been working. I found that I met friendly people in the youth hostels and on the trains chatted to others. I did most of my trip around the world alone for just over one year at 20 to 21 years old. When I was in my mid twenties I traveled to Israel and Jordan alone. I was fun to explore the Rose Red City of Petra. It was amazing to see the sights of Jerusalem. At 29 years old I did a trip alone to New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. I loved islands like French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa.
When I was in my mid twenties I traveled to the Maldives on my own. In my second week I flew on a tiny plane to the island of Gan. I stayed at the hotel there and hired a bike. I spent a very enjoyable morning cycling up the chain of islands. On my way back I noticed a view at the end of one of the streets. I pushed my bike on to the palm fringed beach and took photos of the little island chain. It was a deserted beach so I had thought but I was wrong. A man came up and attacked me. I was very lucky to get away from that dangerous idiot! The next year I traveled alone to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. I had my best trip there climbing Mayan ruins, staying for a few nights in a tree house and snorkeling the coral reef. The following year my disabled son was born and two years later my daughter was born.

I've never traveled alone. Not because I fear of anything because anyway I know that I have God who can always take care of me wherever I go but rather I don't and can't really enjoy traveling without a company. And by company I mean my family. Even if I have a company and it is not my husband or my whole family then I still won't enjoy the travel.

In my mind,i wanna travel with a partner. However if there was nobody available,i will go there by myself.Don't worry about the swindler etc,at least, when i am alone, there are many friendly people rather than murder.Just overcome inner fear of you.NOthing will happen, and enjoy yourself.

This question also depressed me.I 'd like to travel by myself some time, but my parents hold the idea that that a girl travel by herself is very dagerous. At last ,I travelled with my friend.

I think it takes a lot of courage to travel by yourself, especially for a woman. I have never traveled alone for a trip. I always have the kids with me. You do have to be very careful if you go alone. Make sure your family knows of where you'll be staying at all times and constantly check in with them or a friend. Good luck.

First, where are you going? I traveled in different places of this globe alone, though I know people in a destination, but traveling from place to place I did it alone....you need to research and read travel guides.....

I never had chance to travel alone and if I do have one it will be great for me as I wanted so much to go travelling to other place but still got no chance to do so. But honestly I feel have someone accompany you is the best than travel alone. If you want to travel alone you should consider your safety first as this morning I read a news about a tourist get murdered and she is traveled alone for all this while..Just not her luck,..
