do you wear inserts?

I don't work too much but when I do my feet really notice it. I slip into hubby's steel toes and it's like heaven. So then when I got offered a bzzagent campaign for Dr Schools gel insoles I snapped it up. Why not try the pricier ones for free right? So I'm indifferent if I like them in my work shoes or not. They move around a lil bit when I'm walking I feel like I'm slipping a bit and they fall out when I try to put my shoes on. But hubby likes the cheap ones he bought for a few dollars. So I'm debating on just giving him the gel insoles. Do you wear any inserts or insoles in your work shoes? Do you think they make things more comfortable for your feet or not? I was hoping this would help as my feet tend to hurt when I don't work for a few days then work for several hours for several days in a row. Or perhaps I'm just getting old and my feet can't adjust like they used to.

Yes I do and they work wonders on my back and knees. I stand up straighter than I did before. the first ones I used I ordered from a tv show and they worked, but they were expensive so when they wear out I went to the store brand. na did not work as well. Now that I am using Dr. Scholls I am in heaven again. Try them you may find that you like them and since they have this computor to help you find the one yoy need it is even better than before. The only problem I ever had was getting used to them. They suggest that you only wear them in intervels at first until your foot becomes used to them.

That could be part of my problem I'm just expecting them to work a miracle right away for my feet.

To get a doctor's note, do not go to your family physician, go to a podiatrist. He will know what you are talking about and will help you, and write a note if you need it. Skecher's has some dressy looking shoes that look like MaryJanes with criss cross velcro straps. Black suede. I have even seen them with the rocker bottoms. Naturalizer makes good dress shoes that help your feet. I go to Famous Footwear to save money on these brands. I wear Avia sneakers. The rigid insoles I have that I spent $250 on are supposed to last indefinitely. I lost the light foam cover that goes over them, so sometimes they feel really hard but they do help my knees a lot.

I wanted to get those ones with the criscross on them but my instep is too high and it pushed into the top of my foot.

I've never worn inserts. Eventually my feet just adjust to whatever I'm putting them through. At work I wear running shoes, and they seem comfortable enough. My back sometimes hurts from the way I bend over when doing dishes or making subs, but that's about it. My feet never really hurt.

I wish I could wear running shoes to work. I have a pair of sketchers that are ok, better than what I had before (munk shoes) but I'd love it if they'd let me get away with wearing the sketcher D'Lites. Sadly those are all that make my feet feel decent beside ibuprophin.

I honestly can't walk well or far without my shoes, and I have a couple of inserts (one on top of the other) in my shoes to make them bearable.

Sounds like you have to sandwich them to feel comfy. That sux! Sometimes I think I have arthritus in my feet as I spend quite a bit of time on my feet at home but my feet don't hurt like they do when I get off of work.

I would probably just pile them in one on top of another but that crowds my big toe and that is painful in a whole other way!

I'd imagine that can't be too comfy and you can only do that with certain shoes to wear so many. It's usually my baby toe that gets crowded out and the top of my toe nails (don't ask hard to describe)

I signed up for that campaign, but I keep forgetting to put them in my work shoes. I think I will go do that as soon as I am done responding so I will remember. I have purchased them in the past. The seemed to help a little bit, but nothing major. I got some really nice work shoes several months ago and the pain in my heel virtually disappeared.

Ever remember to put them in your work shoes? Only one day left you know for the campaign ;0) Sometimes I do think if you buy a well made shoe you can expect better support and cushioning. Glad those shoes have helped you out quite a bit.

Even when I was working outside of the home, I didn't have specific shoes designated for work. I would just wear to the office whatever I would typically wear outside of the office. That worked, because I'm not a sneakers kind of girl. I don't use inserts in my shoes. I consider myself too young for stuff like that.

I think I'm too young for it too! But things change after having kids and you turn 30 something and things start occuring to you that make you feel old. Trust me it's no fun.

Oh yes I feel that inserts for those who are experiencing foot pains would benefit from them. If they move and or cause your feet to slip they are not the right fitting for your feet. I use to work with Podiatrists who would custom make them to fit the exact fitting of a persons foot. They do balance the person while walking and or standing to help as later on too much inbalance causes knee and back pain.

I have a whole collection of inserts or insoles from Dr. Scholl's and from cheaper places. I do not have any of the $50 Dr. Scholl custom ones. I have a pair of $250 lifetime inserts that are rigid plastic of some kind. Those are the ones my foot doctor says I should wear and DO NOT WEAR CHEAP SHOES, or flip flops or crocs. I have cheap athletic shoes right now, including Danskin with the rocker bottoms. I find that if I trade off shoes, and trade off insoles, switching them around I do not have as much foot pain. I also take vitamins and supplements that help with the pain.

Oh wow you certainly do have a collection of inserts. Yeah, that's one of my downfalls in summer and when I'm at home I like to wear slip on shoes and they don't make too many that actually have any kind of support in them. I had shoes where the bottoms were like crocks and I bout twisted my ankle in those puppies and I noticed the wear on them made me look like I was walking funny so those got pitched. I wear sketchers mostly as they fit my feet the best otherwise I wear Adidas. I can't wear sneakers to work thought I found some suede sketchers the other year and got those ok'd to wear to work as very little dress shoes have support and I can't get a Dr's note to allow me to wear sneakers to work as the Dr said I'm too young to have problems with my knee's and feet. But I've been heavy for most of my life so common sense would say it's possible for my feet and knee's to feel the way they do.

My mom gave me some inserts that she brought with her when she came for a visit and she left them for me....I have horrible feet and they always hurt. I'm not sure what kind they are {they from Germany} but they sure make a difference.

I haven't worn heels in years. The last heels I wore were with a slip on mule with a 1in heel or when I worked in an office I think they were 3in high or so but they were stacked heeled mock pennies. I loved those shoes.

I personally don't, but most of the reason that I don't is because of the fact that my feet are pretty messed up. I broke one of my ankles when I was a little girl and that messed up the shape of my feet. Therefore, on my left foot, I have very little arch at all. I've never been able to find any kind of insoles that will work with the shape of my foot. My husband, on the other hand, does because he works on his feet and it helps to keep him more comfortable.
