My son looked at me the other day and said,"Mummy, you're fired". I punched the air and shouted 'Yes, yes, yes'!! I am a stay at home mum and more or less work 24/7 but my son looked confused. I immediately downed tools and told him that I now didn't have to do the cooking, washing, ironing or housework, yeah! He looked at me in a thoughtful manner and then said,'Ok mum, you can have your job back' hahahahaha I love my job and my kids but as I am a single parent it would just be nice to have some time out now and again.
Have you ever been glad to be fired? Do you want to be fired?

You son is quite the little guy. Enjoy him. Wish my kids would have fired me a few times when they were young. My son now has 2 of his own, I can just sit back and chuckle and relax.

Enjoy all of the moments, they make wonderful memories. Someday you will be able to share them with your grandchildren. Hugs

Hi humbug!
That's a really funny conversation between you and your kid. At least your son knows what you do as his mother. ^^
I have never been fired but rejected and felt glad about it, yes. Because to say no would be mean and disrespectful so the only way out is to be rejected without worrying that I have hurt someone's feelings. ^^
Right now, I don't think I want to be fired with anything. Oh wait, I think I want to be fired from the single-blessedness that I am currently living.

It's okay. I'm happy being single but sometimes I just can't help but wonder if I'm meant to be single forever. I don't even have a boyfriend right now. I feel like I'm going to waste.

Hi there secretbear
Yes it was a funny conversation and we laughed so much about it afterwards.
There is nothing wrong with being single, it is better to wait for the right person to come along than to be with the wrong person just because you don't want to be single! Not saying that, that is how you feel but just thought I would say it anyway haha
Cheers

There is no retirement age for housewives. Actually it is social work as they are not paid but instead ordered about. I sometimes wonder who ever thought of dividing chores that housework went to women and rambling to men!

I had wanted to be fired from my current job after 3 days of joining. My boss is the GM and he is really a very difficult person, keeps on shouting and very unreasonable. If i will resign, I will have to pay them back of all the expenses incurred in recruiting me as I was hired from my country. And since I can not tolerate his whims and being illogical,I always retaliate and we were always fighting. On my 4th month, I challenged him to fire me so i will not pay them and they will be the one to buy my air ticket back home. He consulted the HR about firing me just to find out that it is against the law as there was no valid reason. So the fight continues and I always challenge him to kick me out. As he knows that he can not fire me, he asked me to resign, I told him I will not resign and I will not give him that pleasure. He told me that maybe I can not get another job that's why I don't want to resign. I replied to him that I don't need to work. He asked me why I came to this country and to the company. I answered him....."adventure"....in a sarcastic manner and he walked out.
One time when we were fighting and I keep on smiling at him, he told me that if I think I am annoying him, I am doing a great job.

Hi hexebella
Wow that sure sounds tough going especially as you are not in your home country and how dare your boss treat you in such a manner. Gosh I do hope you are not in the UK, I would be so embarrassed to think someone would treat someone from another country like that!!!
Cheers

Almost nobody wants to get fired.Unless they will benefit from it financially which is a rare case. But this vocation called motherhood, is a permanent job with no promises of retirement benefits, or sick and vacation leaves. In face it is a career where mothers always gives and gives and seldomly gets paid in return,But that's alright.Because, this job is done with love and compassion.Unconditional love never desires to be compensated.

Hi ya Masihi
Yeah kids sure pick up a lot from the tv,films and friends. I think this saying comes from the Cat in the Hat with Mike Myers, not that he used the same tone with me, he wouldn't have dared hahahahaha was super funny and cute though and I enjoyed playing my role too, much to his shock hahha
Cheers

I will celebrate if I resign rather being fired. It's one thing for your son to tell you that you are fired and the other for your boss to give you the boot. It's actually no playing matter, can you imagine someone coming to you and telling you that you won't be receiving the money that you normally receive every end of the month, its changes your life for the worse. I really wonder if the are people out there who will be more than happy to be fired.

I would prefer to resign than get fired, it's one thing for your son to fire you and another thing for your boss to give you the boot. It's no playing matter if someone comes to you and say, you wont be receiving the amount you normally receive every end of the month, it's can be heart breaking if you ask me.So i don't think I would like to be fired

Oh yeah everyday because just like you I'm a stay-at-home mom to my six year old son. Although I have a husband, I find myself the only one who actually looks after my son day in and day out. My hubby works long hours and is often preoccupied with other stuff whenever he's at home. Raising an only child is a real challenge to a mom like me because I have to be everybody and everything to him. Mom, playmate, caregiver, father, teacher, entertainer, toy, mop, etc. etc. At this point in my mommy life, I'm totally convinced that raising an only child is much more difficult than raising a family of several kids. And it's true, there are many days, everyday actually, when I would like to quit or be fired but, mind you, one sweet smile, smirk or sweet word from my son and I would get back my job as a mom like a droopy little puppy in a single heartbeat.
I love my son so much that no matter how difficult I'll be with him as long as I can. No, I never would want to be fired from being a mom no matter how much I rant about it.

Hi there magnoliadays and welcome to mylot
I know exactly what you mean! Though I have 3 boys in total and believe me that is not as easy as you may think. I understand that having one child can be difficult because they don't have a sibling to play with and have some company, but honestly 3 is tricky, 4 would have been easier hahahhaa. As there are 3 of them if usually means that one gets left out all of the time and it is usually the same one! So I think kids of multiples of 2 work well hahha
Cheers

Your son has a good sense of humor:) However, I don't want to be fired since it is my pleasure to take care of my family. I love my child and I want to look after him. Even if one day he will grow up, I still hope that I can do something for him. Such as sometimes cooking something delicious for him or even take care of his children:)
I love China

Hi ya youless
Oh yes the whole thing was taken in jest. I would never, never walk out on my kids, I love them too much and knew that being a parent wasn't go to be easy but I have given up a lot of things for my kids and am very happy to make those sacrifices!!
Cheers

Too funny! I don't think either of my kids have every tried to fire me.
For a brief period of time I actually hoped to get fired from my current job. I couldn't stand my boss and I had another full time job anyway. Things changed though. He changed. I started to get along with him and now that job IS my full time job and I am so glad that he put up with me and didn't fire me when I wanted him to do it.

That sounds funny. I could imagine him thinking, "oh no, what am I going to eat for lunch?"
Well, I have a job now and I have nanny taking care of my daughter while my husband and I are at work. I would love to stay home and just take care of my daughter instead of having to work. She really needs our supervision and she's so young to be have so much time away from us. I don't mind giving up my day job to become a full time mother.
