6 years ago a friend of mine offered to bring me and my roommates to a spa for a free massage. When we've reached that place she told us that we need to take a shower. So we entered this huge room with two jacuzzis (hot and cold) on the left side, a sauna in the far corner and open shower cubicles on the left with naked women scrubbing their bodies! My roommates and I were shocked to see all the women inside naked and don't care about other people. It was a woman-only room but then it was our very first time to see other women's nakedness in a public place. We were told to remove the towels wrapped around our body and we didn't have any choice but to get naked. Two years later i discovered that the spa was owned by a Korean and such is a common thing in Korea. They call that place Jimjilbang. Naked women in a public bath scrubbing each other's back is a common thing there!

Oh, just heard of this and that's really eerie! I would like to try that one too but I have't heard that one in our place..That must be so funny, you're not wearing a panty so you did shave your flower that time, if you didn't sure it looks awful. If you're naked and you have to do is to sit then its fine but if you'll be walking all along and naked, that's hella funny and I can't take that..

@nurseclare, just look at the mirror and you would know how it looked like! And we were born in our birthsuit! We were born beautiful without clothes! That is what you call natural fashion!

LK-- The spa is not suitable for me because I think I will be laughing out loud seeing all the labia majora! I can't stand it especially if I'm with my dotty friends. Oh, so you know who owned the spa, it' a korean could you please specify the gender of the owner..Thanks LK toniganzon-- I certainly know how it looks like but it's not fashionable for me.. Well, I need to agree with you, you're brilliant than I do...

Public baths are loved in many countries. Also the ancient Romans enjoyed these baths. I went a long time ago to the baths. There were sauna and vapor instalations and also a small pool. But I wasn't naked. I always used a towel. There are also thermal baths that I find them beautiful.

I don't see any reason why there should be such allowances in certain public places. Bathing is a private affair and should be treated as such no matter where it is performed. It would certainly give anyone a creepy feeling seeing those bodies of varying sizes.Ugh! I suppose one could tolerate if they were say 36-24-26 or what they now call size zero!

What may seem awkward to us may not be the case in another one's culture. Koreans don't seem to be bothered by these and it's part of their culture.

I have heard about things like this in other countries, and have even heard of things like that around here. Personally for me I would probably feel a little uncomfortable but might be able to try it once. For me I would Love to be able to go for a good massage, etc. but it just continues to seem so expensive even if it would be so relaxing as well.

The price of experiencing comforts in life are indeed getting expensive. Businessmen are taking advantage of the fact that these needs are increasing rapidly. It was fun and unforgettable! If you will have that opportunity you can try it.

Hi toni! It is a news to me that such all women spa outlets exists, where women get collectively naked. I can understand your hesitant attitude to see naked women and to get naked yourself, when you faced this kind of situation for the first time. To my mind, one would not feel very comfortable getting naked in the presence of unknown naked souls, one would feel shy and may not enjoy the bath or massage etc. freely and fully. Anyway, it would have been a life time experience for you? You have not mentioned, how did you feel when you came out of spa?

We have that one in QC, the name is Wensha I think. It also has a spa and huge sauna rooms for males and females. But one thing I really wanted to try is their food, I forgot to tell you that it has a free buffet included in their promo I think. I have a friend who is afraid of gays [I have no intention to hurt you guys], who had some traumatic experience on saunas. He didn't knew about the naked part, he just went there together with his sister just to experience the sauna. So her sister went to the females sauna, leaving him alone to the male sauna. At first he was kinda lucky since there was no one inside so he went in and do his thing. Minutes later a group of men went in and sat on the different part of the room. Little by little the guys move closely to my friend and found himself surrounded by naked gays. He was in shocked that he couldn't speak and shout so he ran naked to the locker room.

I think that spa is unique. Some Filipinas might back out when they see that it's that way. Our company has a Spa here in the company's mall. But they have individual shower rooms, where there's privacy for the person. During the spa session, they can choose up to where they could be naked . Unfortunately, i don't like being massaged by other people other than my husband or my daughter.

Oh D, if only my husband is not too lazy to do that and only if he knows well i don't have to go anywhere else. And my son is too young, he doesn't have enough strength to remove my aching muscles.

Well, it's a nice experience. You enjoyed it , so why not? I guess, your husband is just too tired already , so he wouldn't do it. Just give him a break and go to the spa again.

Hi toniganzon It's news for me. I never heard such kind of thing. But as per as my knowledge is concern abut spa there is no need of bath for spa. In fact some people bath after spa. Anyway I love to that spa house.hahahahahahhahaha

It's great to take a bath and submerged yourself in a very warm and then cold water before a massage. It helps the muscles.

Undressing in front of the people for the first time can be indeed uncomfortable, especially if you are body conscious. Looking at my boby I wouldn't mind taking off my clothes in front of peers, if I was a fat person(this is my opinion, fat people please don't get offended) or had unusual marks on my body I would be reluctant to take off my close. So I think it's all about being comfortable with your body

haha... You still remember it after 6 years. I see you were really impressed. In my eyes, it couldn't be more normal. I go to public bathroom every week in my university. And all of us are naket there, scrubbing each other's back. It feels good to have all the dirts moved from the body. It is a common thing in China, specifically north China.

It's because it's part of your culture and it isn't in mine. How could i ever forget such an experience. It's something that i'll treasure forever and would be telling my grandchildren someday! They would love to know my facial reaction upon seeing those women!

that's how it goes inside. When i was in South Korea, my boss invited me and my friends to go to a spa. The same happened to us, we were all naked the same with everyone else. And besides that we were to scrub each others back. I scrub my boss's back and then i scrub his back. It was a shocked for me because i came from a very conservative culture. But that's how it goes... Just have a good time, enjoy scrubbing naked bodies....

Yes now i understood that it's their culture but it's not ours. So the experience was something that was embarrassing but also something to be treasured about.

That just sounds really weird to me. Ive been so spas and we dont take showers before going in to get a massage at all. Actually there are showers for when you are done but not before you go in and i think doing it after you get out is common and there are individual showers at a spa but with shower curtains and no one else can see you. Taking a shower aftrwards is common to me because they use oils and creams on your body you might want off after the massage is over. Now i do live in the USA and i know things in different countires are way different then they are here.

Hello Toni, I believe this is a culture also from the Japanese and Chinese, am not surprise as I watch Japanese Anime and Sentai Series. I remembered a South Korean Volunteer who told me that his cultural shock was when he sees gay people wearing women clothing we can't have that kind of spa because future perverts will be seeing and taking attention on these spa. have a nice day

WE have one already in Quezon City, it's called Wensha owned by a Korean and when i went there, there's a lot of people. And there was this pretty morena Filipino woman who noticed how embarrassed we were she added more salt to injuy by sitting on top of the edge of the jacuzzi and spread her legs wide to let us see what's in between. Of course we had to look away!
