Being lazy is contagious, some people tend to follow their relatives in such a way people also call them lazy because they have friends and relatives that is lazy. When people were born, its not really normal that we immediately call other people lazy when they are obese or overweight. Obese person are physically and emotionally affected since they were one of the talk-about in town, they try to hide their selves and even try not to talk people. It is sad to know, but i hope there will be someone that could share and give their support to encouraged and give confidence to be not afraid to face this kind of personal problems.

Tagging people as lazy just because they're fat or overweight is just plain stupid. Sometimes people tend to be cruel to others, mostly unintentionally I guess. If you're one of the people who's affected on this, I would say that please don't mind them. You see, you can never really please everybody. There will always be people around you who would want to see you fail that's why they do stupid careless things. Just keep moving forward and do things that make you happy the most.

I agree with Jaimz & stowyk. Medical factors and some medications can make a person gain weight. You can't judge a book by the cover.

i'm not sure. i think laziness is closely linked to a lack of motivation, but why someone lacks motivation is a difficult thing to know.
i am not very good at doing things i find boring, but then i am much more willing to do something that brings a reward, even if the reward is just my own personal satisfaction with having done it.
it seems to me that there is a relationship between being lazy and having a sense that there is no point in doing something.
though laziness has probably existed i think we should be careful not to confuse it with people who just feel demotivated for reasons beyond their control

It concern about the attitude and personality of the individual. It depends on the economical and religious differences that brought other people to be lazy and dependent to others.

I don't think there is such a thing as born to be lazy...some people have a condition where they can't seem to be motivated to do any thing but in truth they are not lazy I think they suffer from fatigue syndrome when you just get tired just about thinking doing any tasks I have 2 friends like that one is very skinny because she can't bother to cook for her self and the other is over weight because she eats quite well but can't bother to clean after wards and sit on her couch all day long.

Being lazy is not depending of the body weight I think. Its a manner that as you said a contagious and irresponsible. But mostly obese person maybe become lazy because of the weight they bring all the time. As of me, If I cant exercise in a week, I feel my body heavy which push me not to do my chores. So, we must concern our weight not to become obese. Take an exercise and prohibit fatty foods.

Definitely, it really depends. Because nowadays people are not conscious about their weight that's why they are prone in cardiovascular diseases.

I guess I am lazy in some ways!
Its also because my mom don't want me to do such things (because she don't trust me cuz I'm careless) maybe because I'm just that special?! I don't know.
But I do some works too somehow (when I;m bored) so I'm really not 100% lazy!

Good to hear that. Being lazy sometimes is normal depending on the activity you have in previous time.

I have some friends who are obese and they are not that really bad. They are funny and not really lazy. It does not mean that if your obese your lazy person. I have this friend that have a canteen, she loves to cook and obviously love to eat. But her obesity is not a hindrance for to be successful, in fact she have a good life now and made cooking and her love for food a career.

Being fat doe snot mean that they are lazy~ It has many factors contribute to it..But I believe that lazy sometime scan be contagious. You got lazy when you see someone behaving that way- if you plan to escape just like them. And its all about role model. If they see you being lazy, no wonder for others to follow exactly the saem like we did. Born to be lazy?? I don't think so. No one born to be lazy ..they got choices they decide to be which one of it.(^^)

hi,
actually i have a co-workmate and she is my friend, she obese but i don't feel that she try to hide it,actually she is very confident to show and i think it will only depend upon the person on how they will handle it,and yes i also observe that there are times that my friend are lazy until she fall asleep because of the feeling.

My mother is 0verweight with diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and asthmma, but she is very hardworking in the house to the point that she will get sick due to ever fatigue and I have inherited her being hard working. My siblings are the ones who are very lazy. When I go to my mother's, I would pity her and help her with the work load because she would complain of body pains and rest of the people living with her just doesn't. Maybe it isn't being contagious. It is just that some people are born lazy

I'm not generalizing that its really contagious but as i observes some people try to blame their parents or others. They don't think that they are the main reason why they become lazy.

Hello Aeceedeano.
I am no fat I only have twenty of overweight, which I am trying to loose, my is son 13 and is ten pounds more than me, so he has to loose at least 25 pounds, I have notice that when we go for a walk he always get tired sooner than me, we have to make stops and sit because he says his legs hurt and that he can't go on, I tell him that is too much weight for those legs.
We are working on loosing some pounds because I am sure that as more weight you have more lazy you become, because your refuse to carry as much pounds.
So in order to build confidence in my son we are working on eat healthier and do exercise.

Being lazy is not contagious. It is not even inherited. It is a state of mind and a person who is lazy decide that for himself. If he has a relative who is lazy, that does not mean that he will be or should be lazy also. It is a state of mind and may be a behavioral problem.

My dear friend "determination will overcome laziness." If you are determined to achieve certain thing, then you will not be lazy. If you don't have money you will not be lazy. You have to necessarily move out and work hard for your daily bread. Over weight may not be a problem but very very overweight may be a problem. Even the physically handicapped persons are very very active and earn money for their daily bread. Money, if it is more than enough, laziness will automatically come. The mind also plays a vital role in this.

It is. Being lazy is like getting the chicken pox. But chicken pox heals, laziness doesn't unless the person wills himself to stop being lazy.
When a person is obese, he can't be easily judged as lazy. He becomes lazy if he doesn't do anything at all. People who have excess weight attached to their bodies tend to move less because even standing up becomes a heavy work load. And when people start to get fat, most of the time they become sad and become prone to depression which makes them more immobile. Even when they aren't talked about, depression coupled with insecurities will just take its toll.

I'm not into discriminating them, i just want them to be aware that being over weight is not bad, but its up to them how to make it good even though its very hard to deal with this health problem.

Well Frankly Speaking sometimes my Parents and relatives use to call me Lazy Specially When I neglect some of their work.I get really Irritated after Hearing this "Lazy" word from their Mouth. So I use to do that work in Anger.
But Yes its really a case that People should not call any particular person lazy again and again,as this will have a bad Effect on them.we need to Support them.If we take the Example then we all are Lazy in some context like in the Early morning we show our Laziness to Get Up and Ready so in many cases. So its Truely not Acceptable to call to be a LAZY!

I think laziness is only in our mine. If we only try to do our obligations, we can avoid it. I am too som3times, I this laziness but I always try to do something that makes me sweat and it starts me to do my staff. i also start my day by doing exercise like jmp8ng rope.
