Just to add that although some may not be new it is certainly beneficial to review the guidelines often. I am one that feels I know them memorized and still to date I still review them on occasion. I especially do so while helping new members to assure that I do know them and am applying accurate information.

catamari if your friends don't see the response button then maybe they are not logged in.
You cannot post a link that promotes your own site or contains a referral ID.
If you keep talking about the same site over and over again then you will also lose your posts as no form of promoting is allowed.
Welcome to myLot!

ok adhyz82, now I've started 2 discussions and 2 of my friends can't respnd to them because there are not any respond button. I've read on FAQ a little to see if there is something wrong. I don't find yet anything. I'll pay more attention to it.
Now I don't understand you very well. Can I speak about my interests? If I have a website somewhere and just talk about same topics here am I wrong ? I know that to put there a link is wrong, but to speak about same subjects ... ?
So, I understand that is not allowed to put the link. Am I right?

Personally I have been here for quite a few yrs. now. I know over time I have seen a lot of people come and go, and even some long standing members. I know I learned most of what I know now more by learning from others and learning what is needed. But a lot of people would last longer if they read the FAQs first here, and lived by them. If would keep us from reporting them as well as their discussions being removed all the time as well.

I am not newbie, but would like to share in this discussion. Actually, read mylot FAQ is very important so we know well how to play here. But, frankly speaking, I did not read all FAQ, only some of them. How about your experience yourself? Best wishes,

Yeah I do. FAQ helped me understand the rules of the game. I was given warning here already for violation of the rules. I forgot about some of the dos and don'ts in the discussions. Anyway, I know now what to do so that I will not happen again.

I have been on Mylot for over three years. I think it is very important to read the FAQs and all guidelines to get an idea of what is expected of us here. I would think that the people who were apart of the 10000 response post were not alittle upset at having their work deleted. Ugh!

Oh, yes! I have had it happen a time or two. But we learn from our mistakes. I hope!

HI adhyz: I must admit that when I first joined the site I didn't read the FAQ. I guide myself exploring the site and doing what my heart dictates me. When I had serious questions I have looked then and I have also found the answers from the posts of my friends. Now I've been here for more than 2 years and I think I know the basis to be a good participant on the site.

To be honest, when I was starting out here in myLot, I never cared to read about the FAQs. Good thing that the veterans came and told me that there exists a FAQ section in here to make life easier for newbies like me back then. Now, I have read the FAQs but still kept on forgetting some things in there once in a while. But really, those information in the FAQ section is really helpful for anyone's stay here in myLot. Read.

i too not yet read the faq but i only read the explanations of rules of our many lotsmates here,
just by replying about what you learn to share it,
and no speaking of bad or foul words that is the only key in order to get some knowledge and to share what you've learned from the other members here and on the other previous forum sites...

Yes, along the course of the way in using myLot, you'll get a good amount of understanding about what is in the FAQ section. Also, applying and experiencing it during discussions and postings, in my opinion, is a better way of learning the FAQ rather than memorizing and reading it.

Hello Adhyz
Yes, I have read the FAQ like four times in this week I did again but this time I could understand more about MYLOT because I combined your advises (mylotter friends advises) and as I was reading could understand more about the rules here.
And now I feel more secure about writing here.

I have read SOME of the FAQ's but I haven't read everything yet. I've browsed through it though and made a mental note on some of the do's and don'ts... I am learning more about the FAQ'a through some of our fellow myLotters' posts. I find those a lot helpful. It's not that I don't care about the rules. I'm just being lazy I guess. ;P

I'm not a newbie now
I still read the FAQs most days though because I use them when helping out the new users and often I still find something that I wasn't awae of. There is a lot to read and understand there too.
I check the Guidelines frequently too because if myLot add something to them they don't tell us. We have to find it.

Hi friend, I have read the FAQ of mylot. When I registered for the first time, I received 2 emails from admin: one is verificaton email and the other one is welcoming mail. The welcoming mail contains summary what is mylot about, we get paid from our participation, no spamming/direct spam allowed here and also suggestion to check FAQ, terms of service and guidelines. If we breaking the rules we may get banned from here, so we better know and follow the TOS.
But I also check on mylot interest, there are many discussion discussed about mylot, like how to change avatar or what is the meaning of stars. There are old members who give explanations and guidance in simple words.

Hi fashionfever!
Good to see that someone has read the mail from admin when they registered. Too often a new user joins and then just starts posting without reading anything at all - and expects to earn here too. Usually those users are very disappointed but it is their own fault for not reading.
I never understand how anyone can start using a site without knowing what to do

Hello adhyz and svj.
I'm a new comer and unfortunately, I just read the guidelines a little over an hour ago. I read the discussion about the 10000 post deletion which I had no idea of and two of my discussion have been deleted days ago so it's a little late for me to have read the guidelines but at least, I did.
It does help to read the guidelines. Now, I won't be so ignorant as to ask questions such as "why was my post deleted?". I tried reading about reputation in the guidelines but it only had one statement about it. I'll try to read some more later.
