It's already 1:10 in the morning here today but yet i'm still awake. About 2 hours ago i think, that was 11:00 pm, i had a nightmare, i wanted to shout but it was so difficult. Finally, i was able to shout and my daughter who sleeps with me woke me up. After that we had a hard time getting back to sleep. My daughter got her bible and read because she said she had goosebumps. She was really afraid because i shouted. I did not tell her about my nightmare yet. At almost 1:00am she fell asleep and now she's sleeping already. Now, i'm still awake. Do you also experience what I had just experienced awhile ago?

it happened to me more than twice already. not only i tried to scream but also tried to move my muscles. its difficult, you wanted to believed that you are conscious but the fact is physically asleep. i am not a religious person, but the only way for me to escape from it is to pray seriously. based on experience, i had it if i'm so stressed, or i felt so depressed, or so full before sleeping.

It's horrible my friend. So far I didn't experience any nightmare that I shouted much. I was awaken only by my wife because I am moaning while sleeping but after I woke up I forgot what my dream was. I only have a dream if I am so tired. I experience constant dreams right after my married and my wife always told me that I dreamt and she awaken me but I continued sleeping.

That must be very difficult, I personally have never experienced a nightmare, let a lone remember any of my dream to be honest. Is this the first time? or Do you have nightmares/ dreams quite frequently? From what I understand, nightmares/ dreams occur when the brain is still relatively active. Perhaps you ate dinner just before going to be, instead of letting your stomach digest most of the food. The late night food or midnight snacking can allow the brain to be active, due to the increase in metabolism and signals to the brain. Also perhaps you are taking medicine that contributes to brain activity. Stress can also be a factor, as it may lead to active minds during sleep, and sleep deprivation. I know a trick, which may help for sleeping. You have to clear your mind, that is the most important thing when sleeping. But how can you clear your mind after a busy day for example. Well, think about breathing. Right? When you think about breathing, in and out of your nostril's that's all you can think about. Eventually if you get tired of thinking about breathing, you'll be soon asleep. Good luck!

Yes, I have experienced nightmare too many times. Maybe because I really like watching horror and psychotic movies. The tendency is that the memories retain in my mind till I get to sleep. Like you have experienced, you cannot move and shout. It's like something is clogging in your throat. But if you fight it and shout to the best that you can, it will wake you up.

Nightmares are just horrible, once you're awake, you'll find it harder to go back to sleep again dreading that the nightmare will return to torment you. When I was a child, I had several occasions of nightmares in which I would wake up and start crying, afraid to fall asleep again. Now I don't have nightmares anymore. Your daughter was very nice to be by your side and read the Bible to you.

If I remember correctly, this has happened to me a couple of times, to say the least. There have been times, when I would have a nightmare, wake up, and then just have a really difficult time falling back asleep. It's been a while since it's happened, but it has still happened a couple of times.

Hi Pahak.Long time ago when I was a child i had a nightmare in which I was holding a severed hand and running calling my mother.I didn't know why I found that so scary. Many years later too I remembered this dream whenever people spoke of nightmares.Sometime ago my sons arm was cut off in an accident and I was running with the cut hand that day(we couldn't use that arm though).

I have experienced that many times already. I've had nightmares that were really scary and everytime I try to scream for help, my voice just fails to come out of my mouth. It's really scary... Good thing you have your daughter with you.
