When I was 17 I used to lie about my age so I could buy alcohol on a night out with my friends (in the UK the minimum drinking age limit is 18). Since I turned 18 I have never lied about my age, I have never felt the need to. I have never lied to a guy about my age on a date either or on a profile no where in fact. I see no point in lying about my age to anyone. One reason being that I am the age that I am, even though I look a few years younger, and also because you will be found out in the end I am sure, well I would be anyway hahaha I wouldn't want to start any relationship with anyone on a lie!
Have you ever lied about your age? Do you still lie about your age? If so, why?

I just turned 19 this month, I mean 26.
I lie about my age whenever I feel like doing it, but as a joke. It has become an automatic answer for me, but I put my numbers in an obvious way. I usually put the numbers in the teenage section. I love seeing their reaction to this, but of course I give my real age afterwards.

Well, there's a famous saying in our place that goes something like this, "if you want, there are many ways; if you don't want there are many reasons". There are always workarounds when you really want something. I just hope teens would use this energy on productive works.

U be naughty any time u want to, lol. When i started smoking they didn't question your age. That was in the 'olden days' as my sons say .I never had a drink till after i was married. Thank heavens that has never been important to me.

Nope never lied about my age, I never felt the need to lie people still think I'm a collage age girl or high school student so why would I need to
Besides it's not like lying about my age will make my age suddenly change so for me it's pointless to lie about a number that will never change, like I said people ask me how was school almost all the time lol they assume I'm still a teen it's weird but I guess its a blessing lol.

I was attracted to the subject line: Liar, liar pants on fire!! I didn't really know what this was about until I read on. I think I heard this line in the movie "My Name is Khan." Since then I've been pondering about that movie.
About the lying about my age, I really don't have to lie about it. True, they'll find out about it later on. I am 34, but I still wish I was younger. LOL. I think everybody about my age or older wants to be younger. And the younger ones want to be older. When I was young I had that mentality. I wanted so much to be older because I thought being older means authority, respect etc., but when I get to this present age, as Spiderman goes,"With great power comes great responsibility". So while you're younger, enjoy your youth. Don't try so hard to grow up. Take your time...time to learn, time to stumble and get up...'coz if you had good youth years, you'll surely be a good person when you get older.

I have lied at work about my age for many years as I should be retired. i even altered a fax copy of my driver's license as my boss asked for me to send in an ID. I changed the 2 to a 8 so I am officially 6 years younger than my birth age. I am not into relationships but if I werfe then perhaps I may still lie -I don't know But I will continue to lie as long as I can work!

Well, I've been 29 for the last 4 birthdays. I don't remember ever lying about my age, or even having a reason to lie about my age. This past year, we celebrated my birthday in the classroom I work in. I even wore a birthday crown. But one of the teachers I work with was telling the kids that since I was 29 [I can't remember the rest of why she mentioned my "age"]. Of course the kids didn't understand it, but all the other teachers and I had to chuckle. That wasn't a lie to hurt someone or to get something that I wanted though, it was fun little lie to protect my 'real' age from the kiddos.

When I was a teenager, I did not look my age. So to get in free at the County Fair. I would not put make up on. I would put my hair in pig tails and would get in free. Then we would go into the ladies bathroom and put out make up on and take out the pig tails.
That is the only time I ever lied about my age.
I don't look or feel the age I am. Your age in only a number.
Hugs

Hi there MaryLynn321
Ah those were the days huh? I used to lie sometimes about my age to get on the bus cheaper as when you turn 15 the fare becomes adult or they just didn't ask me so I didn't really lie, they assumed I was still a child fare. I think if you have lied about your age in a relationship is not really about your age but the fact that you lied and felt the need to lie.
Cheers

Well they never really asked my age. I think I just asked for a certain ticket and they never questioned it. Hey we didn't have a lot of money so saving a bit on entry fees wasn't so bad. LOL. Hugs

When I was 11, I lied and told an employer I was 16 so he could hire me to a slave cash pay job which I worked seven days a week.
Then when I was 15, I lied and said I was 16 so that I could get a job at Burger King. Do I lie about my age now, no very happy that most say I look way younger then I am, when they say you like you are 26 or 27. I say pick one I like them both. lol

I really don't lie about my age. I am proud that I am 36 and people would say that I am 10 years younger than that. But there is really no reason to lie. I have a friend whom we know she is almost and she still wants to make us think that she is 40 plus even though it is so visible that she might be almost 70. She does feel young anyway. But we just leave her alone if that's what makes her happy. Perhaps when she looks in the mirror she can see herself when she was 40.
