I've had recent arguments with a youngest-only daughter lady. I am an only child and then we quarreled and realized both of us were being stubborn. When I was young people use to tell me I was spoiled because I was an only child. But when I encountered this youngest-only-daughter person, she seemed more spoiled and quarrelsome than me. What's your opinion on this? Don't be biased like just because an only child is asking this question you'd say the only child is less spoiled. I'd like listen to other people too who has encounters with both these kinds of people - the only child and the youngest-only-daughter.

Hi there karagala! Actually, being the youngest daughter or the only daughter does not mean one is more spoiled than the other. It depends on how she was brought up by her parents. I've known some of the only daughter or youngest daughter who were not spoiled. They were treated normal though they didn't lacked love and care. It also depends on how the kid perceived her parents way of treating her.

Hi karagala.. I am the eldest of my siblings.. there are 4 *including myself*.. I think.. the youngest of any family is spoilt rotten.. although in my case thats quite difficult, because our youngest are 16 year old twins, and although the boy is the youngest out of the two of them, they are both spoilt as much as each other.. LOL.. To be honest, I reckon, when your the youngest of any family, your going to be more aggressive in a sense, as you have other siblings to compete with as you grow- whereas being a only child, you are quite possibly spoilt but that competitiveness is not as strong.. I think that a youngest child is always more spoiled than an only child. I think that all parents want to keep their children as babies for as long as they possibly can, and this usually means spoiling the youngest child. I have a younger brother, and he always seems to have a lot more than I did when I was growing up. For Christmas, he gets much more than I did at his age. My parents just say that times are changing, and that is why he gets more than me, but I honestly think that it is just because he is more spoiled than I ever was.
