how many "best friends" is too much?

For me, it's not. Young girls nowadays regard their close friends as their best friends. But if she would study closely, there is only one or two that she can call that out of nine. I have two best friends and they are both my source of strength and they never change for years. Happy mylotting!

i think it can be too much if you have a lot of them only by mere acquaintance.. but are calling them for the sake of calling them best friends.... but then if the friendship is indeed very deep and you can call them your bestfriend... then i guess there is no too much number in terms of friends

Since "best" is a superlative, you can only have one best friend. The others are all "better" friends... but I doubt they would want to be called that! Realistically, I have two or three "best" friends - individuals I know I can count on and who will always be close friends, no matter what. I guess each person has their own upper limit, depending on how sociable they are.

I bet they really aren't best friends... unless the definition has changed.. which I wouldn't be surprised if it has.

Well on social network sites, it isn't uncommon to see people with thousands of friends, so nine best friends is rather low! People just don't know what friendship means any more!

Best friend is a difficult thing to define. There are friends for specific hobbies , friends to hang out with , friends to help and friends to talk with. My sister had a good friend that moved to another city and they haven't met for monthes. One day there was a girl who wanted to hang out with some friends and in the last minut , she didn't want my sister to join them. So , my sister's good friend stayed with that girl instead of leaving the car or show that girl my sister is a lot more important to her. That shows how not close they really were.

I would see it as a group of friends who spend alot of time together. I know people who have several best friends. Right now I have two best friends and its not about the time but about the conversations. I havent seen my one best friend in several months but she is still my best friend because she is like my sister.

I think they can but i couldn't I have a special bond with my best friend., Over the years... like 18 of them we have earnt each others trust and i don't think that anyone could ever come between our bond. We know each other inside out and that's why i can proudly call her my best friend even though we don't spend anywhere near enough time together at the moment. This will change because we know we will always be there for each other no matter what. It's almost like what has already happened and we have stuck through it for each other.

I only have one best friend, that is why it is called "best". Though I have around 4 close and great friends that I consider somehow like a best friend already. I think it is up to the person how many best friend they can consider. But I guess on her 9 best friends that she has, there is only one or two that she consider really the best.

Well, all my friends are my best friends! I have a group of friends whom I sit with at school and hang out during class. They're friends who I go out with. I don't particularly have one or two friends who are my best friends because I think it isn't fair to give your attention to one friend than another. So all my friends in my group are all fantastic friends!

it is just like "the best" in your friends. for me I think I can have 3 best friends, 3 is enough for me. and one of those 3 is my ex girlfriend. :)
