the provocative rent!!!

it is so provocative!! my little room's rent will go up again.Sep 12th is the expiration of one-year contract. Just now,the landlord called me,saying that the rent goes up by 400RMB on the basis of 1350RMB. all friends from all over the world. a 12-squaremeter single room costs 1750RMB per month. OMG. how to live?? I am living in Beijing,China. The renting market has been messed up by the darkminded landlords,which seems to lose control.

the rent is about $275 a month. a lot of money,is it? a very heavy burden for me,and many young people. Thank you all the same.

That seems like a sizable jump in rent. I don't quite remember the exchange rate from your money to ours, (US dollars)But that does seem like a bit of a jump from what you are paying now. I hate it but rents are getting higher everywhere.
I just heard on the news this morning that in Nashville, Tn. the normal rate for a place is over $700 a month, that is for a modest place to live.
It's a buyers market now though if one has the money and I've always thought and said it's better to own you own place than to be paying for one for someone else to own.
If you keep renting that money gets nothing for you but a place to stay for one money or how ever often you pay the rent. But paying to own something the payments will stop one day.
