Why do parents think that everything you do is their business?

I'm not talking about minors, but adults in their 20s and 30s or beyond whose parents think they have the right to know everything, even after you have moved out. It's very troublesome and can cause conflict.

I am really fortunate to have parents who let me live my life and do not intrude when they are uninvited. My parents have always been like that, even when I was younger. I built a trusting relationship with them, and they were not ones to snoop around. They would have been wasting their time if they did snoop because I had nothing to hide. Now that I am an adult, my parents will be involved when they know they should be, not when I don't want them to be. They are not controlling and only want what is best for us 3 kids.
