In our country christmas starts as early as september. As what most people here say that months ending with ber is the start of christmas. Funny it may sound but radio stations start to air christmas songs same with tv stations. But in reality if you count it's still around 120+ days before christmas. You may also hear othe people playing christmas songs already. Call us crazy but that's already part of our tradition. Just getting too excited for christmas.

Yes I agree with you. Yesterday, I went to the department store and I saw that they are already displaying christmas trees and decors. Christmas is now approaching.

I think it has something to do with the weather. Starting september, you can feel the cold breeze of air. And when we think of cold air, we would always think of christmas. Everybody is anticipating for the christmas. They have four months to prepare their gifts and other things.

That's our tradition. I am also excited for christmas however I am not sure if I can go home to the province to celebrate due to some circumstances. But still I am hoping for the best this christmas. :-)

I think that although this may be labelled as 'tradition', if you really get to the origin of it, people would be surprised that it was actually a marketing ploy to unload christmas items as early as possible. To get people buying christmas merchandizing for a longer time. I hope I am mistaken.

Well that's true. If you'll really count the remaining days to Christmas, you have a long way to go. But I believe this is just a way to of people to prepare themselves to celebrate Christmas. Just like what people say, "Christmas is in the air.", people start to decorate their house with Christmas trees, colorful lights, buy gifts for family and friends, and many more. Right?

Oh no, it isn't like this here yet. We are about to get Halloween stuff in the stores here. Right after Halloween, November 1st, we will start getting Christmas stuff in and hearing Christmas songs on the radio.

Hi Jacruz! September 1. In Unang Hirit, they featured ham-cooking. That's the time I realized it was already the -ber months. I wanna be excited just like last year, but I still haven't feel it yet. All I can see now is the impending huge expenses that I will have to shoulder come December. Not just for gifts, but also because two of my friends will be getting married on December. And I would have to fly to Visayas to attend it. Anyway, yeah. We, Filipinos really start feeling the Christmas hype when September enters the calendar. I wonder how did this tradition start. It gives me pressure to start my Christmas shopping already.
