I don't know about y'all but i love to open my doors & windows & air out my house first cool break in the weather we have. Thank God the hot , miserable weather we have been having finally broke this weekend. Yesterday i opened up my house & let the wind blow through. It was great. It actually got a little chilly & i loved that to. How many of u like to air your house out first chance u get?

Hi Antiquelady, we only have box A/C in the bedrooms, so in the rest of the house the windows are always opened, but it did feel good when I felt the cool air coming in instead of warm air.

Hi, Antiquelady! This is a very good idea. Usually I don't like to be in the draught, I fear to catch cold. But it's good to air out your house, especially after a hot summer. The hot weather continues in my town and I have mixed feelings about that because I hate the cold, I don't like to wear all the winter clothes. And my purse suffers during the heating season :)) But I like the moment after a hot summes day when you can open up the windows and feel the air of a fresh summer night. Have a good day!

I do like to open windows, although the ones upstairs still have plastic over them. I only have a couple downstairs that I can open also.

My windows are open all summer long, from late spring to fall. Unlike you, I'm not happy with this downturn in the weather. "They" promised a warm, dry September. I actually had to put on a sweater when I went out yesterday.

My windows have been open all summer, no AC. But the fresh coolness is wonderful. Somewhere in August we had fleas move in! I have set off the bug bombs, used 2 cans of flea powder on the carpets, washed the throw rugs, Mopped the floors with bleach water, washed and putaway all the laundry and still can't get rid of these fleas! Now the windows are open, and yes I am freezing, but so are the fleas! So I will take the COLD! And hope the fleas freeze!

I hope the fleas freeze for you also. It is bad enough without air but the fleas are miserable.

We shut off the a/c three nights ago. Opened the windows to sleep in fresh air. My front and back door have been open all day as have the windows in the bathrooms. It is such a pleasant change of pace. I have more energy too.

Bedrooms are upstairs. A bad guy would have to do the Romeo balcony thing. I almost always have slept with windows open, even when first hubby was a trucker.

We did the same, it feels so good to turn our ac off and just go with the flow. Now that it's to cold, we just closed the windows and wait til we can open them again. The Ice Age hasn't hit yet, I hope I get at least a months worth of having the ac off before I crank the heat on. It's nice having the windows open and getting fresh air in. Just wish it didn't get to cold so soon.

Mine hasn't been through the roof, which is amazing compared to last year. I didn't enjoy the heat being so hot that our down stairs ac unit went out and that cost us almost $600.00 to fix. I'm praying for a mild winter, because I really like to get caught back up after shelling out that much money to fix our downstairs unit.

I love opening the doors and airing out the house. It brings in fresh air from the outside so I can let everything in the house air out as well as having fresh air inside the home.

Yes, I'm sure they do. I don't smoke but when I go to a home where they do I notice. It's nice that you think of others that come to your home in that way that you air it out for them.

We do that when it cools like you said. When there is a break and we are able to. We have been having some nice cooler weather lately. Not really chilly in the evenings but nice. I am almost excited about Fall weather. I like to feel fresh air from opening the windows in the evenings.

Hi ANTIQULADY..
I do like to 'air' the house out but not at the cost of freezing from the breeze LoL.. My Mum used to open up our back door every morning, *I think it was more to wake us up*.. The house feels so much more fresher when youve done this.. I mainly do this when I am doing a deep clean *which is every Sunday, regardless of the weather outside*..
Happy House Airing LOL...

funny you should say this about open doors, etc., i always open the back door first thing in the morning, let the fresh air in, let the cat out and the dog out. And the other morning it was a bit overcast and i thought no more of it. I then got ready for work, watching the news and drinking coffee etc., but when i went out to the kitchen, shock horror , it had started to rain, stair rods we call in it england, so the kitchen floor was awash, where the rain had swept in through the open back door. oops, but quickly mopped it up and warned hubby who doesnt get up with me first thing, to go careful as floor still damp. Still it gave the kitchen a freshen up!

I open windows and doors, and my husband shuts. He will run both the heat and the A/C in the same day. I don't argue. There are more important issues.

We air our house out every day no matter what the weather is doing. We never keep it all shut up. There are always windows open at least a little and during the day when we are home, doors are wide open. Gotta let that fresh air in!
I just opened the front door this morning to let the weekend sunshine in and got a shock at how cool the breeze was outside. It looks like a nice spring day out, but the wind feels like an icy winters day!

I opened the doors yesterday for a few minutes. It got too chilly for me though and I closed them. It was nice though while it lasted. I put a jacket on, that is how cold I got.

Hello!
I live in Florida here is most of the time hot, but the good here is that almost every three days rain, I think this is the state where rain more.
So in the night time I like to sit in my balcony and feel the fresh wind after the rain.
I love that for me those are one of the thing that have a big value and comes free.
