Does wisdom increase with age? I guess usually this may be true but I knew a few people who didn't prove this question right. I had a friend who was 10 years older than me but acted like she was younger than me. I also heard of a man who used to throw paper clips at my friend to get her attention. Anyways, do you know any people who do not act their age? Thoughts?

It can for some and for some it does not. Yes I do know people who do act way younger then their age. I believe it has to do with maturity and or life experiences that allow many to further grow with wisdom. I know a particular someone who acts about 20 years younger then he is. Both irresponsibly and his family behavior as well.

I think yes, wisdom comes with age.
When one grows older he becomes wiser because he acquires lessons from his/her experiences in life, which would serve as a tool for him/her to impart to others, so they won't commit same mistakes.
One may be wiser but still he/she may be young at heart and that's what your friend is. It doesn't mean that when you act like that , you are not wiser.

there's a saying that goes kind of like this: experience is the ability to recognize a mistake when you make it again...
Wisdom and experience have little to do with each other.
I've met some very wise children and some really stupid adults... and I've seen those children get stupid when they hit puberty...
I've known some very wise people, some of them older some of them not so old.
Wisdom is something that you might develop as you get older, but isn't always the case.

Not true to all. I know many people who do not act their age. They always wanted to have their way even if it is so immature for them to do so. They always wanted attention even if they do not deserve it. They always wanted their way over everybody, never accepting that others have better ideas than them.

It is supposed to be that with age comes wisdom, because as one advances in age, one has experienced a lot more than the younger ones. Unfortunately, some people do not learn from their experience while growing old, hence, do not become wise. Also, some people just refuse to learn. And I know some people who do not act their age.

Hi lore, sad to say their were people who acted like that. Yes I have known a person who act so very childish. Sometimes I really get mad about it. I have also this boyfriend of mine who just act like he was only 20's. To think that he is almost 30 years old.
Others said the maturity stage of a person is depending on its inner self on how he/she developed or deal with it.

I think wisdom comes from lessons that we have learned in our lives, and the information we take in from the lessons and people we encounter. I have known many that don't act there so called age. But age is just the number of years we have been on earth not our experiences. Someone sheltered is not going to be wise in certain areas compared to someone that isn't. An artist will be wiser in there passion than a fighter.

I think wisdom increase with experiences.
The more problems you meet, the more you learn from them. If life is always smooth to you, you may learn nothing from it.
As your friend's situation, I think her parents protect her very well, so she does not need to think about some complicated things.
While to some adults, they do not other people know how old they are, so they try to act as in a different age. Especially , some girls want to be regarded younger, so that can help them more popular.

Yes, wisdom does increase with age! Some do not grow up but others learn from their experiences and become very wise. While others remain immature and silly minded. It is amazing to see how many can not learn anything after doing the same stupid and hurtful things over and over again.

I don't think that wisdom always increases with age. I am not too silly or immature but I don't always act my age. I think that it could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. I am not one to throw paper clips or be out of control...but I don't do alot of the same things other people my age do.

In my view, wisdom increases with the accumulation of knowledge and experience. Generally speaking, a well-educated person usually shows more wisdom than an illiterate person in most fields. Nowadays with more and more people have the opportunities to receive high education, social experience becomes more and more important. A person who work in a laboratory usually has a doctor degree. But in many cases, he doesn't know how to communicate with others in the society. It's not because he is young, but just lacking the opportunities to collect such social experience. I remember a saying which makes sense: The more you do, the more you can do.

In many respects, yes, wisdom does increase with age. As we make mistakes, we learn from them; so an 80 year old will have had substantially more lessons than a 20 year old. Having said that, though, I do know people who do not act their age. I have an aunt and uncle who are aged in their late 40s and early 50s, respectively, and live the life of teenagers. They go out regularly, drink until they vomit, experience horrendous hangovers, shirk their responsibilities, and hang out with people half their age. It's quite embarrassing, really; but I think that they do it because they're not resigned to - or accepting of the - fact that they're getting older.

I would say wisdom gets better with age. Although you cannot say that someone that acts childish at times does not possess wisdom. Being a clown at times does not mean anything. But I understand what you mean. I know a few people that have no idea what getting older means, and they are older then me. But, I stick by my first statement.

Wisdom increase with age or punctuality increases. Anger decreases with age. What is you opinion?

I think it's supposed to be that way, as you aged your judgement mostly produces good results. Because as you gets older you have undergone many experiences either good or not so you became wiser. There are some people too who acts or their mode of judgement or thinking is more mature than his/her real age. While some older people don't act their age or which she/he is suppose to act with her/his age. I do have some friends even older than me also sometimes acts immaturely.

Well,i think so.We are growing and changing with times flying.People would of course read more and experience more when they are older,so from some angles, people would become wiser as times flies.Hope this will help. But i do think that learning is definitely a lifelong work people have to do.

Wisdom is an acquired quality. [Mostly it is an inborn quality] and it is acquired during our previous birth. Man of good qualities will alone get the wisdom. The rowdies and immoral elements will not get the wisdom. Quit few people will try to acquire the wisdom from their experiences, but most people will spent their time in mery making and die like an animal without learning any thing in life.

I certainly do think that wisdom increases with age. Especially your wisdom about life and such. However your intelegence, on the other hand, does not change. I believe that's determined by genes. But yeah as you grow up you get to learn a lot about life and all sort of things that make you a wiser person, but there are people who have not yet reached the average age within their mind, as in their acting. But that's sometimes caused by diseases within their mind as well.
