What is the effect of Sodium Ascorbate (Non-acidic Vitamin C) to Kidney/liver?

I'm just curious about this type of vitamin C because a friend tells me that it has a better ability to be absorbed by the body than the usual vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid). I was wondering what would be its effect on Kidneys and livers. Does this cause hypertension? How come when I tried taking Sodium Ascorbate I tend to have an upset stomach and I am more irritable than usual. I was suspecting my blood pressure went up. I haven't had the chance to get it measured with the BP Apparatus though. What's your opinion on Sodium Ascorbate?
