This mother is being held on $500,000 bond. She should be sterilized and put in prison for life! She dragged the 2 year old by her feet, put glue on her hands and stuck them on the wall, kicked her in the stomach and beat her over potty training issues! The child is in a coma! This is just unconscionable! Even the police said this was not child abuse but torture! And the 22 year old mother has 3 other children! Now Child Protective Services has custody of the children. What a travesty! http://www.connectamarillo.com/news/story.aspx?id=661558

Wow this is absolutely terrible! The poor defensively child, how could a mother do something like this this. I read there that Grandma did not call the police, what an absolute shame on how anyone, especially grandma stood back and did nothing. I think about situations like this all the time, why on earth does the media and States emphasize so much with cases like Casey Anthony, where although not guilty by law they spend so much to continue to glamorize these people. Why don't thy apply more effort in preventing this type of activity. Get the word out more and more each day so that everyone in the world get involved somehow and we can protect the children. My goodness over potty training, poor child, would have been afraid to breath if the child would have spilled some milk on the floor, as commonly done by kids. What is wrong with these types of people. I don't know if she has mental issues but still, no one helps the kids. How devastating!

Hi, estherlou. This is beyond sad! So sad! I feel so sorry for this toddler. She is only two years old. Why are parents constantly harming their own children? I could never abuse my child just because he/she could not use the bathroom. This mother had no business physically abusing her two year old daughter like she has. I pray for her daughter's speedy recovery too. This mother does not deserve to have any children at all. This mother deserves to be in as much of pain, as the pain that she has inflicted upon her daughter!

Here are conscientious people doing their best to bring their child well. And this woman has the most barbaric way to correct an infant.I think the criminal justice system should ensure that she is locked up permanently.I feel there is something wrong mentally and such people should never be allowed to have or bring up children.

Oh man, this made my stomach turn. Wow. Simply....wow...I can't believe this took place. I hope this woman gets jailed for life!!!! Thank heavens child protective services are going to put her precious children into better care. I'm a mother myself, of 2 elementary school-aged children, and this bothers me to no end.

Oh! it is horrible to read. But these sort of stories are happening all over the world. Mothers' over stress let them do these sort of things. Mothers should be trained to seek appropriate helps when they are in need.

i feel so bad for the child.. the mother should be crazy in doing such thing to her own child..didn't she feel pity on her child for that??? to think the child is only two years old..she must be a demon to be.. a normal mother even how angry she is to her child would not dare to that thing.. woah! sad.. sad.. sad..

That is shocking! I suspect that this is not the first instance of abusive behaviour towards her children. She should punished, jailed, Spayed (yes..spayed as she worse than an animal) and never see her children again. I would give her a couple of weeks glued to her jail cell wall.

Happy belated post pardom depression lady... I hope you rot. People like this make me wish I never had a child because he would have to deal with one eventually, at least know or see or hear or something. It's horrible!! I hate hearing about this stuff, ; ; I wish to know more about the outstanding men and women who take care of their children, love them, nourish them, why can't they be in the papers and there be a 1 small paragraph for crap like this? This is horrible :( I feel so sad for the child in a coma and the children that were taken into state custody ; ;

You are right. We always hear too much of what's bad in the world and how terribly human beings can treat each other.

I hate government intervention, but in this case I believe it's necessary. Frankly, because of the amount of child abuse that is seen today, I think that people should be forced to take child rearing and parenting classes. They should also not allowed to have more than one child while on welfare.

That would certainly keep the expenses down. Women on welfare get a lot of help for housing, free medical, food stamps...you hear of some who continue to have more children...it's how they make their living.

And I'm not talking to those women who truly have the need to be on welfare, but the ones who generation after generation have lived off welfare and think nothing of it.

That is horrible!!! Recently here a young mother left her baby in the car on a 90 degree day while she went in to get a suntan. She recieved a ticket. I think they should have taken the baby away.

OMG, THAT IS JUST HORRIBLE !! I would absolutely lose my mind if I saw someone harming a child. For goodness sake, she is only 2 years old. He doesn't understand. I never could understand nor do I think I will ever understand how someone could harm a child. There innocent children, how could you hurt them like that? I really hope she is put in jail and is never able to get her children back! If the kids are put into the system, I hope and pray that they go to a loving home to experience what love is truly like. Your mother is suppose to be the one person you can always run back to, these children, if not already will be scarred and will need to go to therapy to get over the abuse they have suffered by the hands of their mother.

That's insane and completly ridicous! How could a mother do something like that to her childeren?! In my opinion she shouldn't get to leave jail or have contact with her childern. If you ask me I wouldn't guess she will get out of jail and if she does it won't be for a very long time and people will fight to keep her in jail

Oh gosh - a mother gluing her kid's hands to the wall for a potty training accident? What a shame - she should be put to jail for that. I hope justice would be served for the young girl and will be peacefully with God soon!

I agree with you completely. What this mother did is most certainly unforgivable. She needs to be strung up. I feel for that poor child who in my opinion has done nothing wrong to deserve any kind of punishment. After all, she is just a baby. There was no reason for the mother to go into a rage over potty training issues. She should have kept in mind that the child is still a baby and is still learning when it comes to potty training. That mother should be tortured in the same fashion as she had done to the child.

She should have her other 3 taken away. She should have her hands glued to the wall, and abused children should be allowed to go by her each day and show her how they have been abused by letting her experience it. This should be for life.

This is so sad. I have to assume the mother is mentally imbalanced because no normal person, much less a mother, could do this. That poor child and those poor other children. Unspeakable cruelty goes on in this world and you have to wonder......why??

This is the kind of case where protective services is needed and can help. This was a true case of child abuse that no one can doubt. Like everyone else, it sickens me. I can't understand how people can even watch a child suffer like that, let alone inflict the damage themselves. I think we should permit such parents to take their children to protective services themselves before they abuse them and confess they are afraid they might abuse them and don't know what to do. Obviously this woman was not right in the head when she did this. Some states now let people who don't want their babies take them to the firestation or hosptital and abandon them so that they won't get to this stage where they abuse them, and these babies have a chance to be adopted into good homes where they are wanted very much. This is why protective services was created. Now it's burdened with too many cases it should not be taking, such as rebellious teenagers who falsely accuse parents to get even with them for grounding them or taking away TV privileges. That increases case loads of social workers so that they don't always have time to catch the real abusers.

Sounds a lot like my mom, nobody ever did anything, by now she seems to remember nothing anymore. Which is very hard for me to believe. I wonder what kind of glue she used. The world is full with these kind of parents, teachers, relatives and even kids are torturing each other. I wonder if it always was this way (human being is a crual specie they kill for no reason).
