Some people say: you are old when you don't like to listen music too loud! What do think about this opinion? I believe it is true, now i am over age 30 and i am listening to loud music much less often than previously. I just need more quiet around me, so maybe i am getting too old already. :D

i am now 50 years old and i definitely don't like to listen to very loud music like rock and rap music; i wonder if rap sound is more appropriate for rap rather than rap music?. i enjoy listening to disco or dance music but not rap music and rock music especially if it involves violence.

And how about music in theater, opera theater or symphonic orchestral concerts?

music in theaters or in live concerts is a different dimension/level. there is the live performance to attract the attention to so its not quite daunting. but a live rock concert is not very tolerable for me... at my age now i can't stand it!

Maybe it's true, or maybe not. My grandparents don't like loud music. But my father keeps on playing music at a maximum level that almost all our neighbors could hear the sound. :)

yeah, some 15 years ago my nighbours very often came to me saying that music volume is too high and they hear everything i am listening to :D

He sure is. Sometimes I'm thinking if he's deaf. But he's not, cause when he's listening to his headset, the volume is low. I think he just want to share the music to neighbors. haha. :)

yes, it true, i usually listen not too loud music when i was young but now its little bit less, i think because when we are joung our ears are much sensitive to music and also our nerves are strong and need to be exited, also depends on the surroundings and friends we have, some are too noisy, aome are quiet, after all when we are getting old, all we want is rest and relax because of work.

heheheh agree, but depends on what old we are talking about, because at 35 with the kids and work sometime have time to do dancing or having fun out, but if we are about 50 or 60 familly do not stop us having fun bacause all kind of responsibilities are gone!!!!!!!!!!!! no more kids no more work this is the time of being relax and est the way we always wanted

Hi iDivision, I think what people says is true. Same to you I also didn't like loud music anymore not like when I was teenager or before this. I even get angry when the music sound is too loud though those are the songs that I like. But I don't agree with you saying that you are getting too old, though your pics (on avatar) quite shows that you are (hehehe, I hope you don't get offended), it's just you grown older not too old, you still young just 30.

What disturbs me the most is when somebody of my friends get into my car and turn volume on so loudly that my ears betting hurt. :( In this cases i have volume control on my car wheel and i can turn it off when i want to without friends to see how i done it :D

Really? How can you do that? I wish I can have that too. Yeah it's really annoying when I heard loud noise from someone's car, but in your case how dare your friends get on your car and turn the volume so loudly without your permission? So rude.

The music world had evolved with different types of songs. I don't like the heavy metal type of musics, I get easily irritated.lol. I still prefer the old-fashioned songs.

Yes, I also think that this makes sense. As I grow older I tend to dislike louder and noisier music. There could probably be a scientific explanation for this.

I also think that there must be some rational explanation, not only fact that we getting older and we don't like music anymore :)

It's funny that i don't think that it's the reason that you are old,i suppose it's just that you are more maturer than before and need to be think more before doing anything.LOL.I just can't live without music and i really love it with it around me.have a nice day.

yes, it is funny and yes again - i am more maturer right now than maybe 10 years ago. But still, there is some regularity between people getting older and music loudness likability.
13 Sep 11
I didn't even like loud music when I was young! My ears are very sensitive and I can feel physically sick if there is too much noise around.

Ha ha I'm 21 and I don't really listen to music too loud anymore.I would have my tv or radio up almost as far as it would go a few years ago but not now. My husband still listens to it really loud, by himself of course. And my mom, almost 50 likes her music loud sometimes. But its mostly after she's been drinking..... lol

Well, one of my friends were saying that on Facebook the other day and I was smiling to myself about that line. Because I realized then that I have been like that for quite sometime now. You see, I'm over 30 and every time there's loud music, I couldn't stand it and if one of my family members turn on the volume, I like to tune it down when they're not looking !! So it is possible that I AM getting old !

yeah its right actually ,,, when we are teenage then we love to dance etc .. but as you grow older the flexibilty in our body decreases .. and we like the music which will give our soul some kind of peace.. so i think this the main reason that we like to find peace in the music .. and also at this age , we have to face soo many difficulties, hardships, challeneges, situation thats why we like music which is light and that will releasr our tension

yes, situation and changes inf real life determine how we feel about one or another music and sound volume. But sometimes it is cool even for old people when they can feel free themselves and party! :D
