New cellphone craze?

Are you the type of person who likes to grab up the newest cellphone? I used to be like that but not anymore. Even recently I bought a smartphone but I despise it now! It's just a piece of junk, and I went back to my straight talk phone. As long as I can call and text, it's fine with me. Sure I'd like a better camera, but the one I have is just fine as well.
I've thought to myself that I'd like to get a smartphone through straight talk as they are providing them, it'd still be only $45.00 a month, but I just don't think I am going to waste my money on that. I can sve my money for more important things, and / or things that I want and will use more often.
Do you grab up the newest cellphone? Do you get a new phone every time you renew your contract, or everytime they send you out a rebate etc?

Well i just lost my decent phone nokia 5230 not so trendy features but decent one. Stupid dog ate it causing liquid damage. So no choice but to buy a new one. I would definitely like to buy a smartphone though. It is always nice to have the latest technology in your hands as there is always something extra that you can do. I can just make a video call or access some awesome apps which is always beneficial. Having less features is a asset but having some more just gives you variety and added edge when dealing with things. Like smartphone now has an option of storing your flight ticket it just reduces carbon footprint and also helps you reduce printing or carrying energy.
It is a large one time investment which always pays in a long run. The more time you keep a smartphone the more features you will get addicted to. It is not always necessity but availability of resources that allows you to invent.

To each their own. I hope you enjoy it when you do get one, but I hated mine and it wasn't as "cool" as it seemed. Maybe it was the company that made it, maybe it was the company whose service it's under, but it just got slow, annoying, and I hated that I couldn't get signal where I NEED it most.

No, I am not like those people who seem to be crazy over cellphone. They'd sacrifice just about anything just to buy the newest brand of cellphone. I've always been a wise spender so you can never expect me to change my phone every now and then. Besides cellphone is not part of my fashion so why would I buy the newest cellphone all the time? To me, Cellphone is only for communicating with people and not not for showing off.

My hubby does that junk from time to time. He once bought a razor phone when those were popular because he said it was better than the junk he had. Well guess what he's back to a similar style with the sliding keyboard he complained about that he had on that one that was "junk".

i was really that kind of person. if i have enough extra money, i grab a new one. that's one thing that made my bank credit account closed. so today, i am contented with my old qwerty phone.

It comes in waves for me.
I used to be the type to grab the latest one when I was younger. And then I grew out of that phase, and was just content on using a serviceable one.
But recently, now that I have my online business, I'm finding that the latest smartphone could actually be good for me. So, I think I would upgrade to the latest one as soon as this contract I have is done.

Cell phones, I don't really like messing with something that works. I mean people these days, and their trendy new gadgets and the buttons and the pushing and the shinyness to say the very least. There are some people who seem to get a new cell phone about every ten times that I see them. That is really to a level of absurdity that I do not really want to think of.
Until it stops working, then there is really no point. Given that the fact that I want to save as much money as possible as well, there are going to be a lot of times where I squeeze as much usage out of everything as possible. To the point where everything is going to be mostly absurd. Then again, people like their new gadgets. Far be it for me to complain about them.

Hi! I do not change my cell phone frequently. If I have bought a handset, I make its fullest and optimum use. I do not want to waste money on new handset for the sake of it. Technology is changing fast and our cell phones get older soon, but we need to look at our pockets and budget before taking the plunge.

This is my 4th phone. I replaced my old phone when it wouldn't hold a charge anymore and the one before that when I was in line-of-sight of a cell tower and couldn't get reception. The one before that... well, I wasn't using it so I let it go.
This one IS a smart phone, but I couldn't beat the price, it was free... my roomie got it from her job and she can neither use it nor had AT&T, just when my old one was on its last... charge shall we say...
it is a first generation iPhone, and so far I've seen no reason to replace it, I've had it since August of 07

Reality strikes...I should not be chiming in here, as each time my contract expires, I have an exhausting search for a BASIC, BASIC cellphone! I don't want all the "bells and whistles"...I want "excellent field service"...emergency locater, and don't really care about a camera (but that is not an option now!) My cell phone is basically in case of emergencies, as oft times when I am Tiling, I am working on a job site, where there is NO power, and NO land lines--and there alone! And Murphy's Law says that is when things will go wrong. The other times when I carry it is if I am riding alone, in case of injury to me or my horse. Can't seem to just get basic anymore...but I find when you get as close to basic as you can...I seem to have better send/receive abilities...right now, I have a basic "plain-jane" Samsung....BUT, on the other hand...my son buys the latest & greatest!

I use to be that way. I have had a blackberry, I dispise them, I have a smartphone right now, and I like it, but at the same time hate it because it also has come with a lot of problems. Thinking of finding my old old old cellphone where all I can do is talk and text, make things so much more simple.

I had a cell phone for about three months. It was okay but the program I had charged me after a certain amount of calls. Then I had them change the other product I was using onto the same bill with the phone. They tried to charge me double and I had to fight to get it straightened out. You sure want to check your bill with those places.

I don't grab up the newest cellphone as I can't afford to do it. I had a smart subscription for 6 continued years with a free cellphone attached to it with the contract for two years but I terminated it about 3 years ago and I'm now using a prepaid sim. I obtained 3 cellphones for the duration of my subscription. Now, I don't mind if my cellphone is new or not as long as I have a phone that I can use.
