I don't think that sleeping can affect your memory, although that is just a personal opinion and of course I could be wrong. I was always under the impression that sleep does you the world of good. If you feel lazy all day, perhaps you should find some kind of hobby that you would like to participate in, to get you motivated. The weather sometimes makes me feel lazy, for example when it is cold and miserable outside, sometimes I switch on the music, and get some cleaning done, or do some cooking, and that seems to help the situation. If you feel you are sleeping to much, try and limit the amount of sleep you have... go to bed late and get up a little earlier... 7- 8 hours sleep should make for a good nights sleep.

Just sleep within the normal range, 8 hours. Lack of sleep and oversleeping causes you still to be sleepy. Oversleeping may also cause headache. So have a balance with your sleeping habits.
