How do you feel now after you joined so many websites hoping that you`ll make some money online ? I remember when i started, not long time ago, i wanted to see if i can make a couple of dollars each day ,and the first website i joined was a PTC website called ptc75 i think.I clicked there on a lot of ads and when i looked at my account i noticed i have 6 cents so i said " ok this will be a tough job, i will have to join 40-50 websites to make 2-3 dollars each day " then i noticed it`s not 6 cents but .6 cents so i canceled my account right away :) How do you feel now ? How high were your expectations and how far are them from reality ?

I think that a lot of people who come online to try and make a living always think that they should be able to earn hundreds of dollars each and every day within a very short space of time indeed. The thing is, earning online takes a fair amount of time to be able to build up your income if you are going to want anything regular. I started my earning by gaining literally a couple of pennies each day, and now I am able to make a lot more than that simply because I have put in the time to be able to do so over the past three years.

Yes GemmaR we all start from an e-mail where we can read we can make X amount of money .Then you come online and the reality will hit you pretty quick...you are lucky if you make 20 cents in the first week after you open 20-50 accounts.

I spent the first week of my online earning life doing the same thing. Then I realised that all the promises were complete BS and did some proper research (the practical upshot of which is the beginner's guide I wrote). Once I'd done that, I figured out what I wanted to do to earn. It took about a month in the end. That was when I got my first big payment - $40 or so, if I remember right - for an article. It was a one-off but it was a real boost. It took another month or two to really get things going and, since then, I've been earning quite nicely. My main client just emailed that he wants me on retainer: even if he has no work, I'll get paid. Woohoo! In answer to your question, my expectations were admittedly high at the start. They became more realistic after I'd done my research. My hopes are still high but I'm much more realistic these days. I know I can earn $400-500 a month easily (in the sense that the work's there, not that it's necessarily easy work) and that I will have bad months and good months. I'm still trying for the $1k month: haven't hit it yet!

Oh, how true! I've been REALLY close once. I got up to just over $900 then everything went quiet and no more money came in. TWO DAYS after the end of the month a client paid his $90 invoice, which would have just pushed it over the $1k mark. I was not amused. Of course, a month like that usually means really low pay just before and after - it all depends when the invoices get paid.

No I'm not disappointed because I don't come to any earning site with unreal or high expectations, and I understand that most websites don't pay enough to make a living from, and you generally can only make pocket change, but you wont become a millionaire or be able to quite your day job unless you can afford to invest into online programs and some of those types of programs end up being scams as well That said, the only instances when I get disappointed is when a website makes clear claims that they don't back up such as when a website post statements false claim that you'll earn a particular amount and do not do what they claim But for the post part I'm just grateful for what I can earn because I know how hard it is to earn online unless you have a particular skill such as data entry skills or you already have extra money to invest in a online program.

Most of the time when you ask others they will send you where they need someone to work for them Ashok so that may work or not. I joined another forum a week ago and i got 4 messages in the first 5 minutes, all of them where " if you need help i`m here for you please consider joining this website xxxxxxxxx. ref link " :) So i told them yes i need help but from what i see you need more help than me :)

Yes I am feeling very disappointed. I did have my hopes up pretty high about earning money online only to find like you, that you have to join heaps of sites, some which only pay .01cent. My expectations are obviously very far from reality.

Yes, I'm with you. I am very frustrated as well as disappointed that I have not made the money I thought I would through online business opportunities. I've been at this for about 2 years, and all I have to show for it is little to no profit and more debt. Nevertheless, I still have a little hope that evetually things will turn around for me.
