I have, several times. And I admit because i am very easily hurt... and often times I easily cry whenever i am hurt or are in bad need to get off the emotions buried in my chest. have you ever had to swallow your tears back, though? When and why did you have to hold back your tears? For me, most of the time when i am feeling really bad... and i cannot cry at home with my mom there, i know she'd watch me, she'd be there to ask questions and i do not have an answer for her.... so i had to cry my heart out because i can't let anyone see me cry.

i always hold back my tears. i am very emotional too that even when i watch some t.v programs that would be very sad my tears would start falling. i really have to hold back my tears at those times because my father would see that i am so weird because i feel for the ones in the program. often times when we watch programs together he would be watching my reactions because he knows that i'm gonna start crying when the mood of the story becomes sad. i do not know but i have come to live with it. i think my lacrimal glands have been located very superficial that is why it is easy for me to cry i have often think of becoming a drama star because of that ability but nah, it is just my way of compensating myself i am too weak emotionally and i just take it lightly when people would talk things about me like i'm a cry baby. to them i care! they do not have my beautiful eyes that are very sympathetic and fierce sometimes. before i used to think that i am cursed by having these eyes but now? of course not! i got too know myself better and i am just too soft. i have accept it though and i am happy now. :)

he he we all go through such days, i guess when we would be too emotional even when we are just watching tv, etc. But then we somehow would be required to hold back tears, maybe because we are at work and we thought of a thing or two that has happened to us and it would hurt us and we need not let other people see that something is bothering us, too... i guess most of the time it is, us the ladies that are often in the situation where we should hold back our tears...

that is true chiyosan., us girls we are really emotional. and it is better to hold back our tears rather than being asked of what's wrong? or what happened? it's tiring convincing people that there is nothing wrong than just keeping those tears.

I have experienced this so many times already. Just like you, I easy cry even for the smallest reasons. I always hold back my tears especially when I miss my bf and when we have an argument. My sister and I are in the same room so it is really hard for me to cry. I don't want them to see that I am once again crying over my bf. I don't want them to know how weak I am for crying over something.

I am a very sensitive person. So yes I have had to hold my tears back many times. It seems I can cry much easier than many people. But when I am in public I try to hold my tears back. The jobs that I have also tend to give me instances when I have to hold my tears back as well. I work full time as a 911 dispatcher and sometimes receive calls that would make a person cry. I also have worked as a newspaper reporter and have had to hold my tears back when reporting on a story.

Hi chiyosan! I don't like crying in front of people so I have had to hold back my tears for a lot of times. I just don't like people seeing me in a weak state so as much as possible, I don't show them that I'm hurt or if I'm in pain. Even while watching a movie in the cinema, I try my best to hold my tears back because my friends might find me overacting if I cry. And of course, when I'm alone watching a movie in theaters I would definitely not want other people to see me crying alone. ^^ I can only cry if I'm alone in my room or the bathroom or if I'm drunk with my friends.

I am like you, i hold back the tears, so that people do not know how i am really feeling, or think and ask what is wrong. In the past i have cried when all the people in my house were a sleep, as i did not want to upset anyone.I try not to let people see me cry, not even my close friends or family.

This often happens to me. Since I am emotional, therefore it is easy for me to be in tears. However, I don't like crying when people are around. It seems that I am weak and begging for their sympathy. So I will try to hold back my tears and then hide somewhere to cry out. I prefer to be alone when I am sad. I love China

I do have to say that there have been times, when I've found myself trying to hold back my tears. I can get emotional pretty easily sometimes, and I try not to cry. It's certainly not always easy to do.

I get very down at certain times of the month, and I often have to hold back my tears at those times and remind myself of everything that is good about my life. I have a list of the things that I am proud of in my life and I have a look at that whenever I feel as though I want to smile about something that I have. If you feel down, it is important that you realise why you are down so that you can try to address those issues that are upsetting you. If you don't do this, then the same things will continue to upset you over and over again.

thank you for your response. I agree and well that is true what you said about not resolving the issues because it will most certainly come out again... it will happen and for sure it will make us want to cry again as it still would bother our thoughts.

I am not a drama queen. I don't like to cry and I don't want to show also that I am crying. I pretend to be strong and whenever I am in the situation like I cannot take it anymore that I cannot hold back my tears, I really have to hide away or just go in my room. Its like once in a blue moon experience and mind you, you can't make me cry like that easily. But this not so old man really pushed me emotionally when his bad attitude showed obviously inside the bus where he don't care that I am pregnant and he wants my seat. Well, since I can understand more I gave the sit to him and I was standing in a sardine packed bus. I really felt crazy and I missed my country so much because nobody treats a pregnant woman like me like that. I really felt so pity in myself that if ever we have our own car, I would not feel uncomfortable to commute in a crazy country like this.

For all the time, God knows how i wanted to stop my tears from falling but i just cant. Maybe im just so weak. Whenever im sad or hurt, my tears was just faster as i do myself wanna shed them. I never had a time where i was able to stop them, nor would there me. I like crying than keeping it in coz after doing so i feel relieved and comfortable.

It was what one pastor has said also in one of the talks i listened to. He said that well, we humans do love to be "alone" sometimes... and almost all the time, we welcome the "loneliness" because we all love to cry, to feel like crying, and because this is what makes us human... because we do like the idea that crying and feeling sad and letting them out in one go because when we do cry as much, we do feel we are better.

I wish God would grant you your prayers. I wish that all true loves would never end and would never end up separated from each other. Just continue to pray and continue to try to win her back...

I am very sensitive just like you. I became better with my emotions with age haha. I just turned 21 and even though I am still sensitive, compared to before I am a lot better with my emotions now. I always hold back my tears and sometimes I think that is is bad thing. I am so used to holding back the tears that sometimes I think my tear ducks are not working because tears wont come out but there are times with my tears just flows. I hurts t hold back your tears because your throat and chest physically hurts.

yes, this is what i am feeling now. i cannot breathe so well especially if i was not able to let out the emotions. sometimes its hard to fight back the tears, it just bursts and when the first tear comes out.. then it'll never stop flowing...
