I have graduated university for 3 years. However, I realized that the major is not suitable to me. So, I want to change it.
The problem is I must study more an other major which can help me change my career. I wonder that I should start at a new university or to study more some the short courses?
If I attend the short courses, I can save much time and money. I can work well by them. However, I don't know what will happen in future. And whether the knowledge from them influence to my promotion in the next time ?

I guess this is really a rough decision for you. Sometimes we think we shall follow our dreams and do what we want exactly. But it is not easy. We need to live in and face the real world. Sometimes it is really difficult to make a choice. Just listen to your heart and don't make yourself regret. Good luck!

It really depends on what new career direction you are considering entering. I would explore as to what are the educational requirements and if this is something you would like to do in terms of long term courses and or short term trainings.
See if the field you want to enter only requires certification training then that may be all you need. Some careers require college degrees. I would start by talking to a college counselor and then to a training counselor and weigh out both options.
Plus also way the costs involved. Whichever route you take do so as soon as you can, better now while you are still young as oppose to when you are older, as then the competition for employment may be greater. Good luck to you.

tkonlinevn,
Since you've graduated, I think you will need to check if your degree could be considered for a position in your career of interest.
Otherwise, I think you will need to see how you will be able to make up for it. I would not recommend the short courses since it would not be of help to your career prospects in the long run. I believe you will need to speak to the relevant faculty in your university to see if there's a solution to your current predicament since there may be subjects that could be excluded in the new discipline.
I suggest you check with the administrative office and student counseling before deciding.

It will be up to what major you will be taking. If their are short courses for that major and you really feel the need of studying it then go for it. Also, if time and money permits you to go for short time courses, I think that will be best for now. Pursue with the long ones once you are ready and once you have the time and money.

A degree looks a lot better on a resume, but that depends on if the college offers what you want. If the short course offers it, it may be best for you, but you don't go wrong in attending college. No one knows what the future holds, but even when you have a degree some places will tell you that you are over qualified if you do own a college degree.
