Life is so precious. Why we need to junk our own baby? It is a gift from God. Many couples now a days are not given a chance to experience having a baby. To have a baby is a blessing from God.
I am in favor of legalizing abortion in own country because I love life. God is the source of all life. No matter what is your reason to abort your baby, still it is a sin in the eyes of God. You might not intend to have a baby, but God give it. You may think it is just an accident, but it is not an accident in the eyes of the Lord. Every born baby has its special purpose here on earth.
We need to love our life. We should not halt the opportunity of the child you are carrying to see the beauty of the world and experience what is life. You are very selfish if you aborted your baby because of the reason that you are not ready to be a mother yet. Well, why did give in such a things which you cannot handle the responsibilities. You know what I mean. For me, if given a chance to be pregnant,I would really nurture it until it goes out and see the world. How about you guys, what are your view point in regard with this?

I am all for legalizing abortions in the US. I hope that the higher number of women would never have to use this option but some would. It should be available as a option for women. Yes, it is very selfish on the outside but when you look within or are that individual it is a whole different thing.

Hi,
This is a very sensible topic. According to me abortion is a sin. I would never recommend or prefer an abortion unless, the baby to be born is ill or any disabilities are discovered. It is equivalent to murder if you abort a baby just because you feel you cannot take up the responsibility or because it was formed as a sign of your illegal affairs!
The baby has done no sin to be killed that way. However, if the baby is found not to be healthy or found having any disabilities, it is better to abort the baby rather than bringing it up in this cruel world. It is difficult for both the kid and the parents to grow such a child along with other blessed children. I do not mean that disabled kid is a curse. But I would definitely not prefer to put that kid in trouble, when I have the opportunity of stopping it.
Coming to your question, it does not matter to me whether it is legal or not. It all depends on one's maturity to handle the situation(either as a preventive action or accept to live with it!)

Hello, padu! What you said in the first paragraph is somewhat in a contradiction with what the starter of the topic said about God giving each person in this world a purpose. True we might not know it, but maybe even a sick child would have a great purpose. Who are we to judge that? Honestly speaking, if you were to abort a sick child, you'd do it more for yourself than him/her so , in a way it's still avoiding responsability.
On the other hand, even if the baby is healthy, what if the environment in which he/she would grow wouldn't be? Like being born because of a rape, or with an abusive husband, etc. Would that kind of life be better than being born with physical defects?
There are physical scars and psichological ones and in my eyes, the last ones are the biggest problem. A child's birth must be carefully planned , otherwise both the mother's and the child's life would be destroyed, sometimes even the dad's.
I think everyone has to take their own decision in the matter, because in the end it is between them and God.
So my answer is : yes, legalize it and let every person chose their fate, just like God said we should do, because they will still respond to Him and if they want to take responsibility for such an act, it's their business.

I do agree with your points! It is true that a child born because of rape or abusive dad will not be a good sign. In that case it has to be carefully planned. Primarily the child's future should be taken into consideration in such cases and take a decision accordingly whether it has to be aborted or not!
Thanks for pointing this aspect!

Not everyone believes in god and not everyone believes pregnancy is a "blessing". And no one has to. Not everyone is ready willing or able to gestate every or any pregnancy that befalls them and it is NO one's business but her own.

In my home country sadly abortion is allowed up to 24 weeks pregnancy which I think is shocking. I know some premature babies born at 22, 23 and 24 weeks pregnancy do survive if they get excellent medical care. Every baby deserves to be born and if the lady can't keep her baby adoption is a good idea.
I am in favor of not allowing abortion unless there are exceptional circumstances. This would stop all abortions for social or economical reasons. Abortion numbers would cut down by 98% and this would be wonderful. I think if the lady's life is in danger it is right to give her an abortion. Then one person lives instead of two people die. I feel sorry for ladies that conceive during an attack and I would encourage them to adopt their baby. I was offered an abortion at 36 weeks pregnancy. I let my disabled baby be born and now he is a happy little four year old.

I read your views about abortion and appreciate so much because there are people like you who give the value of life most especially those innocent babies...
I don't agree in legalizing aborting here in my country because that is a crime. Killing an innocent man is big sin how much the innocent baby that never know anything. The still no nothing in this world...
It's a crime, my friend. They should not legalize it because it's a crime...

In my country, Australia, abortion concerns more of the aspect of ethical, social amd moral issues, instead of a legal issue. However culture also plays a major role in whether an individual believes abortion should/(not)/remain legalized.

Abortion is already legal in the USA and it is one of the worse decisions our Supreme Court ever handed down.

I'm a Pro-Life so I'm not in favor in legalizing Abortion. A baby is a gift from God and we do not have the power to just decide and kill the baby. But then again each one of us have their OWN right to make a CHOICE. So, we should just respect what others choices are and not in par with what we have chosen.
Others may have a reason why they aborted their baby, maybe the mother's life is in danger so they opted to choose the mother's life BUT I think that a MOTHER would not want to do that.
Whatever choices we may have let's just respect it and don't judge people in haste ..they may have a very valid reasons in doing that and we all have FREE WILL so, let's just respect each others choices :)

Hello, bessyjanmayi!
My answer to your question is yes, because everyone has to be free to take responsibility for their action. We are not the ones who should judge these kind of acts. God is. In the end, when they will stand before Him, the persons with such sins will respond the appropriate way and that will be that.
Yes, God gave life as a gift to us, but he also gave us another gift that people forget about : freedom of choice. People should chose not to sin out of fear for the weight of their sins, not out of fear for man's laws and punishments.
That's one of the things I wanted to point out. The second is this :
People around here say if the child is sick or malformed it's alright to abort. But isn't that God given as well? If people are so inclined to judge a mother that aborts a healthy baby to avoid responsibility, why not judge one that aborts a sick one as well? Because no one wants a sick child and we can understand that, but we can't understand the idea of giving up on a healthy one born into an unhealthy environment? This is not a right thing, it's mere instinct in my eyes. We, as humans, still possess that "survival of the fittest" instinct and we are inclined to reject what doesn't fit the pattern.
So I say this : we either judge each case on it's own, or blame it all as a whole. But the proper position on this, from my point of view is : man has no right to judge and prohibit this, let God judge and decide.
Also,do you know that, statistically speaking, unwanted children are more predisposed to develop antisocial behaviour to the point of becoming sociopaths and serial killers? This is just a side-note, not necessarily related to the topic, but it's a known fact.
Sorry if my thoughts disturb you or come in contradiction with your own religious belief, but we are all different , because God left us this way :)

Instead of legalizing Abortion we can start campaigns about how to use birth control method to avoid the consequences. Abortion should be strictly watched because most of the sufferers nowadays are teenagers.

I am not in favor of legalizing abortion open to everyone. I think abortion should not be used just because a person doesn't want to have a child. In my opinion they should have thought about that. They could always give the baby up for adoption because there are so many people that would love to have a baby who cannot get pregnant for whatever reason. I feel that abortion should only be used in a very rare cases, such as if carrying the pregancy farther would kill both mother and unborn baby, then yes specially if she has other children at home. That in my opinion should be the only time it is ever used. That is just my own opinion and feelings about it, and they are not up to be debated. It's just how I personally feel.

I am not in favor of legalizing abortion because its cruel. I once asked my younger brother: "What about those child who were results of r4pe?" My brother, who is more religious than me, answered: "It still a child, they should continue with the pregnancy. If they can't stand the kid because of what happened to the mother they should put it up for adoption after being born. It the humane thing to do."

Its is very clear in the Bible that to kill is a very big sin. and we consider that abortions is a very serious crime!. To legalize abortion in my own country is not a good idea but better to use contraceptive or a family planning than to kill a innocent child. Parents who aborted there child in there own womb are more than criminal people. can you imagine it is your own blood that flows in the veins
of that child then they going to kill it. Can you imagine a child who is new born? they are so happy and angels are more than happy that they can see what beautiful our world that God created for all the people.. Why we people are selfish to those child that who wants to see the place what we have right now?.. Most of the parents are there reason why they abort the kids are they afraid of the responsibility and some are its not there choices. But why they going to get inside that case if they know that what they do can make a someday as the result??... Above all to have a child is a God gift. A person to have a child must take good care of at and be thankful to have a blessing..
