Hi Friends,
As you already know that Sachin Tendulkar proposed a change in ODI format and including two innings per team.
ICC said that, though they discussed the proposal they decided not to go for it. ICC thinks that the current format is good and for now no change is required.
What do you think? Is ODI should be as it is now or need changes? And do you think ICC may consider this proposal after a couple of years or so?
Happy mylotting!

I think ICC has done the right things. In Sachin proposal there are lots of changes and it will be tough for cricketers and as well as new cricket nation.50-50 over match is quite good now.I think no need to change the rules.

I also think there is no need to change any format right now we have already 3 in 1 kind of stuff which is enough till now

I haven't gone through the whole proposal and changes mentioned in it, but I feel that two innings format again becomes batsmen friendly and bowlers have to suffer!
They have to take 20 wickets in 50 overs but now they just have to take 10 wickets. I am curious if Sachin was a bowler what would you propose. This is the reason I don't think this format is fair. Bowlers will be thrashed all around the ground. Is it any fun?

It seems that the proposal was not made clear in the news. Just now come to know about it.
The proposal seems to be like,
1)A team bats first for 25 overs
2)Then the other team bats for 25 overs
3)Then first team continues FROM WHERE IT LEFT IN THE FIRST INNINGS bats again for another 25 overs
4)Then second team bats again for 25 overs
So if this is the case then there will be no difference and it seems good! And I think it should be considered.

Yes Test cricket seems to be still having fan following. Though not many can attend Test matches due to work these days but they do keep checking scores and follow online commentary etc. So people still want to see some tough traditional cricket! If this proposal is followed ODI matches will become like T20 matches.

actually the thing is that the cricketing fans are willing to watch the tradionational quality cricketing formats bbut their is a threat that the quality of tough test cricket might fall because of the twenty twenty leagues and thatswhy more and more players are retiring for the twenty twenty league hope so you will agree with me on this

I think Sachin's argument to change the present ODI format to a two innings format is a good and useful suggestion. This will make reduce the advantage got to the team who wins the toss. This will make the toss conditions to a biased one. It might be rejected by the ICC but Sachin got the support from his teammate Rahul Dravid.

Yes there are some good points in the proposal but over all it seems to lack something. And do you notice, bowlers have to take 20 wickets from 50 overs now they need to take only 10 wickets. And batsmen like Gayle, Sehwag, McCullum etc if batted twice in 50 overs you can imagine the state of bowlers!

I think ICC made right decision because as per my little knowledge we already have three kind of cricket in which one is slow paced whom we call test match second is one day ODI pattern which have fast and calmness both in one place and the third one is the hell in the fire which is just like need for speed. So there is nothing left behind to change.

There was many flaws in the sachin's prposal and hnece i know it will get rejected.
Well 50 over format is good in current form and i think it right decision from the ICC.
There is need of test matches to get changes not the ODI so better sachin give a good suggestion with regard to Test and keep ODI as it is.

Well the ICC can consider the request if this is recomended by various international players and the coaches as well. Sachin has been in the world of cricket for almost 2 Decades so he is well experienced in Cricket so what ever he says must be having a point to prove...

Yes I too have heard about it but what personally you think about this? For me it is slided towards batsmen. They will get two chances to bat! And bowlers have to take 20 wickets in 50 overs. Again more workload for bowlers and fun for batsmen! Imagine what destructive batsmen can do if they bat twice in 50 overs.

we all know that cricket is the most entertainment media in the world and it is the one that is liked by more people. some people will be bored when they watching same cricket with same format.
in my point of view these changes can easily brings good entertainment for people. so it is pleasant when ICC brings the changes at this time.
