When Youtube first started, it gave a huge amount of freedom to the user. They allowed a lot of things to be uploaded and viewed by everyone. Now there are restrictions in certain places and certain songs cannot be shared etc. Do you believe that the restrictions will continue to get tighter until youtube is no longer a favorite?

Yes. That's the inevitable fate of all the websites- they will rise and eventually will fall - much like what's happening to facebook now. But as of the moment, youtube is still faring fine when it comes to video sharing. Let's just hope that whenever a new video streaming website rises, it will be better than youtube.

Yeah actually i really hate the "not available in your area/country" kinda message. It just makes me so mad. And once a new video is released, we can't see them till a few days late. It really feels like discrimination And I have no idea why everything should be viewed by Vevo these days, so annoying!!

hello,
I think so? Because they already implemented it to many people and if they will not continue it because of their popularity. I think that is not that good as it is. hmm I mean they should continue doing their rules because people know about that and besides there is nothing about there rules at all.

Maybe yes, but as a user we always can go to other video sharing website with less restrictions and i think this restrictions in youtube can be good for other video sharing website because now people are spread to alternative video sharing websites. Maybe it's only bad for youtube employees.

I understand your frustration. It is really upsetting to see everything you do get met with some form of restriction. Youtube got popular because of it's initial state which did not have all these restrictions. The restrictions are going to be bad for them.

I don't really like the copyright restrictions because it means that I can't post the video review I was planning to do because it had clips from some anime and I know if I put the full version up there, the company that owns the copyright will DMCA me, so I understand everyone's frustration in that regard, but I don't think it's right for everyone to upload full episodes of their favorite TV show or full movie either.

Youtube is a gift for those who want to express their talent in the form of video. It is a viral market where everything can be found. Youtube is mainly used by youngsters who are interested in teh field of music. They are just uploading their creating work and uploading which is getting lots of comments and thereby giving them fame. Youtube if used in the right way! It will be good.

I think they need to make strict rules though because it is getting out of hand.

Yes. Before people could freely upload anime AMVS and more anime episodes. This also includes for movies, tv shows, etc. Right now youtube doesn't allow it's users to upload much music due to copyright. Most videos uploaded right now must be homemade. Homemade videos are really boring no offense.
Even if it's funny, nice, controversial it's still dumb. So in a a dark dark not so far future youtube will end up being a boring list filled with Shane Dawson copycats. Then again isn't Shane himself a copycat?
Not saying this type of videos are bad but that's only for boring teenagers who have no time for anything to do...

I believe YouTube will always be a favourite, and the popularity will only rise. However, I agree that restrictions they have implemented may have scared off users of the YouTube website.

I think Youtube will be around also but will ward off users who disobey the rules and put videos on there that are inappropriate.

It might remain as a favorite to some but not all. Maybe a lot of people are still enjoying watching videos from youtube. But the restrictions also made the site itself to lose viewers. So it's fifty-fifty for me.

I could do without some of the videos posted there so I am glad they have now become more strict.

yes i think the restriciton will get even more tighter .. the reason is simple that the users can have a lot of freedom but on the other hand it can violate copyright or the security of a country .. so the best thing is that the government should control such websites .. remember : it is a very good source of information for people like us
