I Love Cleaning Products That Make My Life Easier!

Our bathroom suite is old and John inherited it when he moved in during December 1999. It is blue, therefore it came out (I estimate) around the late 80s, early 90s. Because of its age it can be quite hard to clean, depending on the product I use on it...
until now!!!!
Whilst at Mum's last week she gave me a "demo" of some Cif Bathroom Mousse Citrus Burst.
"Watch this" she said.
So, off I followed her into the bathroom and she sprayed this white foam all over her bathroom sink, then walked off!
After a few minutes she went back in, rinsed it and the sink gleamed like it was new. Amazing!
I bought some of this Cif in a local shop near Mum's that sells allsorts of this kinda stuff. It was £1.69 and the last one in the shop. Mum let me have it as she told me she can go in there anytime to see if they have any new ones in stock..which was nice of her!
Anyway, this second time I've used it, I left it for a while, which is what you're supposed to do. The blue had all become white with the mousse! After my cup of tea I expected to see white foam everywhere..but it had DISAPPEARED, leaving a gleaming blue bath, sink and toilet (bleach went under the rim) lol.
I did rinse everything down but I've never seen anything like it..from foam to nothing in the space of about half an hour.
God knows what's in it but if it cleans up for me, who cares?
Haha!

Thats my kind of cleaner. They have something like that here but I forgot the name of it. I think I will look it up and go buy some. I can't stand cleaning the bathroom. Now, all I need is something like that to clean the rest of the house. Like maybe a house cleaning person in a can. LOL. I wish. But that would be a start.

I'd love one of those robotic vacuum cleaners (can't remember the name of it) but - unfortunately, they don't go up the stairs which is something I HATE as my Dyson cleaner is quite heavy. Designed for blokes you see!

I also forgot the name of that vacuum. They have a few of them. Anyway, I heard Dyson is a very good vacuum. If I was rich I would have a crew of cleaning people. Thats why I try to live as simple as possible. To me, less is more and easier to maintain.

I've even used it on my KITCHEN sink and gas hob.
Perfect!

Little scrubbing bubbles?
Alien lifeform that eats grime and then goes home?
Does it make tea, too?

Sounds like good stuff. I use Ecover Limescale Remover in our bathroom and that ha a similar effect, except that it costs twice as much. I am going to look out for that Cif stuff. I use the ecover not for environmental reasons but because it's great at getting rid of limescale. We live in a very hard water area.

Never heard of that product before. We are going to have a water softener put in our home soon.

ecover is a Belgian product that contains only natural ingredients. They make a range of things in Europe but maybe they aren't in the US yet. I've thought about a water softener, you still have to have one tap that doesn't operate through it to avoid contamination in the water supply apparently.

I'm sure I used Ecover some years ago when Blackpool used to have a Food Giant store. It was laundry detergent I bought and it was quite novel in the early 90s for a ball of this stuff to go in the machine. It was brilliant so I guess your bathroom cleaner is in a similar vein!

It did work like a charm and the foam disappeared automatically without bothering you washing them.I guess the Cif Bathroom Mousse Citrus Burst surely has a type of strong oxidants in it.I wonder what your bath, sink, etc. are made of.

Me too. It is hard to find good products that actually work.

Hi Janey, Thank you for sharing that. It has gone down on the shopping list to see if we can get it around here. We got rid of our bath and had a large shower, the length of the bath put it. Being nearly at ground level, it is very awkward to clean, so I am hoping we can get it... Cif is a common enough make so hopefully there shouldn't be too much of a problem finding it. _Derek

I love it when I find something that works good!
There is a dollar store near my house & I seen some toilet bowl cleaner called the works, it was cheap, I didn't think it would work, it got hard water and lime stains to come clean.
The best thing I found for glass & plastic shower doors was actually shampoo, the same thing that made the nasty, crusty white residue on them.
Funny when you find something that is cheap and works great how you trust it and stick to it, I just hate when I find something and then it gets discontinued.
Hope that don't happen with your newfound product!!

I would slit my wrists for sure if this products got discontinued (only joking) but I would be heartbroken for sure!

If you have a Unilever factory somewhere in the US then you should be able to buy it I would think.

I've got several products that clean without any 'elbow grease' like that. Some of them have chlorine in them. One has hydrochloric acid as the main ingredient. One just says contains "bleach". They've all got warnings about not using them with any other cleaners, ammonia, etc. because of the reactions which may occur (fumes and explosions come to mind). Gotta be careful with that kind of product in my place though with the kitty roaming around.

My cat is frightened and runs away lol. It does get everywhere though, this foam stuff but disappears like I said. If I were a child watching Mum use it I'd think it was something out of Harry Potter!

Sounds like this stuff really does the job. Now if we could only find something could wash windows and vacuum on their own.
It odes sound like out scrubbing bubbles product we have here, as it too foams a great deal and not scrubbing is needed afterwards.

Oh yes, this foam has loads of bubbles in it. Looks quite messy actually but the way it dissolves is amazing, I can't get over it lol.
