The announcement came too late. I was already at the office when they announced that government work is also suspended. Now, I cannot go home because the wind and rain are so strong outside! The wind's even howling. The mangoes are falling down from the tree here at the office. Such a waste.
I hope the storm "Pedring" calms down a little so I can go home already!

They are not the sweet mangoes that can be blended as smoothies with yogurt. They are the green ones that are sour and they are still young. Still, they can be sold but it would be too difficult to carry them all.

The mango tree is inside the office so basically it's the office's. I actually took home some of the fallen mangoes and so did some of my co-workers. But there were still a lot of them in the ground and I think a lot will still fall down.

good for you that you are stuck in the office and not stuck outside. at the news there are people who are walking, maybe on the way home. the winds are very alarming and it is better that you stay indoors than try to go home. if you will go home be sure that the rain and wind is not that strong any more. it is better safe than sorry. keep safe.

Thanks!!! I'm home now. I was able to go home because the rain subsided. The wind is still pretty strong but it's safe to be outside now. I'm glad I'm home!!!

Wow. We've never had a storm here that bad that work had to be cancelled. How long did you end up staying at the office? I hope you had some company there.

Hello secretbear. I am so sorry that you have to be stuck there now because of the late of announcement of the storm raging outside. Then you will have to wait till the storm calms down to some degree. I am not so sure about the exact time in your place. Right now it is 12:47 here, after our lunch time. To be exact, it is nap time for us students and teachers on campus. Take care, friend.

Whoah! What a tough and boring predicament to be in. Are you alone in the office? What would happen if you needed to spend the night there? hehehee..
Anyhow, I hope there's no permanent damage done. I'm just glad that we don't experience those types of weathers here in my area.
Keep safe! You could just do MyLot today and expect to earn more this month because you have got the whole day to do it today! ehhehe..
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

That must have been really scary! I have never experienced being trapped in a place because of an earthquake. I hope I will never experience that!

Sometimes it's wisest to stay put.
There was a storm when I worked at a jail once. When shift end was over, someone couldn't come in. They asked for a volunteer to stay. I volunteered because I knew I couldn't get home without running the risk of being in an accident anyway. Another time, I had just worked a double and the weather was too dangerous to drive, but the weatherman said it would be fine in two to four hours, so I slept on the floor of the lockerroom.

Yes, I agree! In this kind of weather, it's always better to stay put instead of risking your life just to get to your destination even if it's home. What is getting home late compared to being in an accident??? You did the right thing there.

YEah, i've seen the news and the storm is so powerful! Isn't there any warning before the storm reaches, so that nobody would be left stranded like now? Hopefully the storm has calmed down and u'r able to go home now, secret. U'r lucky that your office is near to your house, so that shall cut down on your danger home.. hehe

The storm is so strong with heavy rains and strong winds.
Some vehicles are stucked in the middle of the road due to floods.
I am checking the net and so many homeless family are now in every evacuation center.
Too many lives are again wasted....
be safe and lets pray for the victims.

Ugh~ I hate my day yesterday... I ESPECIALLY went to work because I KNOW that there will be a user training in Guam and the managers there requested me and my project partner to be present as "tech support" during the training. My partner and I braved the storm and prepared for the presentation.
An email came. "Training is moved to a later date sue to the bad weather in Philippines. Some of the users cannot attend the training." Their department suspended their operations, hence they don't need to come to work while me and my partners went to work because of the training which was moved...
While going home, I braved the flood (Taft's flood water level is knee-deep), walked until SM Manila, hoping to get a ride (which I did) and got home after 2-3hrs...
But then, this experience is way more bearable than Ondoy! I got stranded at Puregold E. Rodriquez for 6hrs before I got a chance to brave the flood XD

Glad to know you're safe. Yeah, that was a really strong typhoon and there is another one coming this weekend. Hopefully, it will not be as strong as Pedring. The whole Luzon was affected by that storm, you're in Laguna right? Here in Metro Manila, there was a large scale power outage. How about there?

Fortunately, we didn't experience power outage during Pedring. We experienced a short power interruption but it went back to normal after a while.
