It seems that I'm the only one who isn't on facebook or who does not do facebook. Now I know this can't be true so are there any other fellow mylotters who don't do facebook? I don't think I shall ever do facebook unless there is a time when you really have no choice not ot to do it

It is weird to find someone who isn't on Facebook. I wasn't for along time. My granddaughter kept trying to get me to go on but I thought it was a teen hang out and I wouldn't join. Until I found alot of Mylotters were over there and I thought it would be a nice way to get to know them away from Mylot.

I am on Facebook, but I don't "do" it. Very seldom do I check in there on other than business related tasks. I contract for a site that has a page I help moderate. Other than that, now and then I read a little about what family in other parts of the world is doing, but I hardly ever post.

I have a facebook but I get on at night times for some reason. Well I can't in the daytime because that is when I'm busy with homework, work, etc. When I get on at night times, I still see some of my friends online. But most of all, I just check my email to see if I have messages, new friends request, etc.

I did have a FB account for a few months. Finally decided it was a waste of time and I wasn't fond of having my business known (possibly) world wide. I deactivated and haven't gone back. I think that FB is just another addiction for most people.

I am not on facebook and have no plans to change my status. It seems to me to be way to invasive in ones life. Mylot is social site enough for me.

I don't have anything to do with facebook. It's undemocratic with it's like but no dislike policy. It's antisocial, spreading it's log on buttons all over the web like leaches. Worst thing is that everyone comes to mylot to talk about facebook!

I have a facebook account and started using it to keep in touch with family and friends, play games to kill time, etc while we were driving a truck cross country. I don't use it much anymore though. I will still log in once in a while, but now that I am at home there are too many other things requiring my time so I seldom get on the site now days.

I'm into facebook and almost all of my friends and relatives are into it too. I have one friend who is not into it though, I thought it is pretty unusual and even thought he is the only one (for those who have access online).

I'm not on Facebook, either. Years ago when college campuses were promoting it as a good tool to keep in touch with college campus references for career paths and such (back in about 2006, 2007), I joined for this reason. College became unnecessary after awhile (not to mention disappointing), but I stayed on Facebook because it had boomed into a social network and one of my pen pals started talking to me on it. Within a few years, my now husband and then fiancee joined, so we really had no reason to leave. When Facebook started getting slick with their privacy options, I started getting ansty. I could see it getting into a 1984-esque situation, where a group of people are being controlled but have learned to follow what they don't see as wrong. In August of 2010, I posted an update saying I would be off of Facebook for awhile. The family dog I had grown up with since I was eight had passed away, and I needed to mourn. I was personally attacked for mourning "just an animal" and told by a family friend I needed therapy. This was basically the last straw for me, since I didn't feel safe in my own home. That was a long story, but if I hadn't been attacked, I would still have left Facebook. Over the past year there have been many instances of indecency on Facebook's part. Since deleting your account is so hard (not deactivating, but actually deleting), I've actually become somewhat of a "helper" for family and friends who want to leave but don't know how. My husband has left, and I just passed along the directions to the manager at his work who also wanted to leave over the latest privacy issues. Don't join Facebook...you begin to see just how selfish all your family and friends are when you are a member. Go out and be with these people, don't just "chat". Trust me!

I have a Facebook account, but I will honest with I barely ever log on, the last time I logged on was maybe two or three weeks ago. I am considering closing the account, but I have a few of my friends there in which once in a while I like to keep in touch with so I am still debating it.

I still have so many of my friends who do not have facebook pages. I think there are still a lot of people who are not yet that conscious about the advantages of facebook. This is exactly the reason why I said facebook still has so much room to grow, and it definitely will.

I don't like Facebook. I have an account but I don't use it often. I will just open my account if I have to greet my friends for their birthday. i don't why some people are addicted to it. Maybe because of the Applications and games. I only tried one games, the typing maniac and it was okay. Many are addicted to Farm Ville but I don't which part of the game is addicting, lol

i have facebook account and i check it everyday. but i only open it in maximum then close it. the only advantage of facebook i think is the number of user. with that many user we can do promotion like online shop, url, etc.

I resisted for a long time, Anne. A LONG time. I just recently joined, and to be honest it wasn't the repeated proddings of my friends and family to join that led me to finally giving in. It was the prospect of getting more free samples. And now that I have joined, I am barely ever on there. I just cannot get into it. I've tried, but it just doesn't interest me. And I've never even played a game on there although it seems a lot of people get addicted to the games. It's just not for me.

I have a facebook personal page, I opened in the past, but, I it´s almost one year since the last time I opened it, and I do not plan to open it again, I have heard too many nasty things about facebook, it´s creator, and, specially, it´s privacy policy, that I do not want to do anything with it anymore, and I admire you for not let yourself get carried away with the flood

My daughter in law wanted me to come on facebook as she said we could keep in touch. I thought thats what emails are for but I joined. Well there were games etc and I love cooking games so I started playing did not know you would only be able to play a certain level and not go further unless you added more friends. I played a bit finally I shut it all down as you had to add more friends to the games and you did not really know the people etc. so I closed off to everyone but a few family and friends I am lucky if I go there once a month. I had written my daughter in law a few months back and asked about coming over, while I know she goes on every day as I see her putting discussions on her site, she doesn't reply for what I thought I had joined for. So it is not as big of a deal as I thought it would be. I like mylot a lot better. It seems more cordial and friendly. And you can talk to anyone that has started a discussion. I do have one business I buy from and she has a facebook site so I can leave her messages there which is nice. But facebook is not the place mylot is and I prefer logging on here than there.

I do facebook but not that much. I do it because i have to get connected with some people through it. Otherwise I am not a fan or will ever become one as I see it as a place where people stalking one and another.

Hi Anne18.I am standing with you too.I never have a facebook account and not even single time i thought about making an account. I know FB is a great social networking site to get connected with people but i personally feel that if i really want to connect/talk to family or friends,i just call them.

I don't do facebook, there are too many people on there blabbing everyones' private business to all and sundry. I think the main function of Facebook is intelligence gathering and data mining, for corporations to find out more about their customers and also various government agencies in some countries...
