Am I the only one that does not text?

I just saw a story on Fox news that teenagers are sleep-texting. They fall asleep with their phones in their hands and start texting things to their friends. When they wake up, they see a message on their friend "what are you talking about?" They lookat what they said and they don't remember texting that.
That will never happen to me. I don't have texting on my phone. It'a not that my phone isn't capable of it, I ordered it without it. texting seems to be everywhere. It seems like not texting is almost as bad as not having a phone.
Is there anyone else that doesn't text?

Every once in a while, a mobile phone network offers calling promos that are way better than texting. I agree that under normal circumstances, texting is cheaper than calling so most people don't have a choice but to text rather than call. I, too am used to texting people but now I prefer sending them messages at Facebook. Most of my contacts are online for a long period of time so it has the possibility of being read immediately. Otherwise, I'll just send a normal SMS.

I hardly ever do it but those who do it even while they are sleeping those must be addicts. One can get addicted to anything under the sun which includes texting!. Every gadget that comes out has good and bad points.

I do use my mobile phone for texting the messages when ever I feel that I want to have a official proof about any information! Otherwise I am also not a big fan of texting! I find it difficult to text for two reasons , first is that because of my age I find it difficult to concentrate on the screen of the phone and read type letters typed as i feel they are too small for me to read and second thing is that I find the keys too small to use, even if the keypad is qwerty type! Thanks for the discussion!

I don't text, too. I call and get quick response. I hate texting because people respond in short messages which are always incomplete. it will take you more times to get to the bottom of the issues when texting whereas in call, just few words and you have the response you need. But the sad thing about it is I spend more and pay high bills than the other members of the family. To solve it, i use land line and demand my caller to use it!

You are not the only one, my mom does too!
Somehow she doesn't really like to text people. She said she just want to get the quicker response, so she prefers the phone call..
By the way, I am still used to texting people.. It can't be helped, texting is cheaper than making a phone call...
