I started my training how to handle Koreans last Wednesday. I got a new job, it's teaching Koreans grammar and vocabulary in English language. I am so excited to meet the students this coming October 13, the first day of winter camp. I don't know how to react if I meet them personally. But as of now, I'm studying grammar and vocabulary to be able to teach them well. That's the purpose of our training to be prepared to teach and to handle students which have a very different culture from us.
Even though I was a little scared, yet I need to do this. I need to earn money, so tired being so dependent, just receiving allowance from the family even though I already have my degree. Well, this is just for the meantime. I'm just hoping that it will just be fine. How about you my precious mylotters, do you have passion to teach people whom you know have different culture??

I've been teaching English to Korean students for the last five years. I teach online so it's slightly different than being with students face to face. Also, students are of all ages---some as young as six and as old as sixty---so I find myself trying to do a different approach all the time.
Because of this I've learned quite a lot about Korean culture and I do hope I can one day visit the country. I managed to learn a lot about a country without having to go there, just by talking to different people daily for a long period. The great thing about working with people of a different culture is the amount og knowledge you gain, and the satisfaction of knowing you have also somehow taught them a lot of things.

Well, personally I don't really have any thoughts about teaching in a different culture, but I do enjoy teaching. The feeling of the ability to share knowledge, to be the center of knowledge, the ability to help students and ability to control them in a class. It is fun and exciting when teaching especially when you are pay for it.
Anyway, I bet you must have lots of fun teaching in a environment different from where you were brought up. I would like to try that too if I have the chance! :D

i did it before when i was a teenager... i was dealing with 2 Korean students and i teached them english... that was when i was still a teenager... i couldn't speak koreans and they couldn't speak english... so what i did was i used the english korean dictionary on their computer to communicate and teach them... it was a very good and valuable experience... take care and have a nice day...

After I finished my degree I have considered teaching the English language to Koreans as well, cause they say it is fun and will really help you improved yourself at the same time helping other and earning as well.
But my schedule got so mixed up that I was not able to apply to any company here in my place. No regrets though, I always want to teach students but maybe I'll just pursue it in other ways.
I hope you enjoy your work. Be happy with it and everything will turn out just fine.
