Spitting Out Questions in Discussions

What is it with people spitting out questions after questions here and not bothering to answer any responses. Ugh! I see the roughly the sames names again and again and occasionally a few new ones. I spend almost an equal amount of time reading questions as responding to meaningful discussions. My girlfriend refered me here but she didn't meantion I would need a gallon of coffee and bucketful of patience. It's frustrationing not relaxing. Fortunetly there are a few peeps here that give great advice and comic relief! And a few others that put up discussions that really matter to them. Thanks! I gotta get a coffee refill, anyone else want a cup?

It happens to a great many of us where although I am very active here and probably appear on a great many discussions, that at times I do read far more then I perhaps participate with. There are times after reading a discussion, responses and comments I can't participate as that would mean that I would probably duplicate a response. I personally find myLot to be very relaxing as it keeps my mind off offline issues. Coffee and myLot for me go hand on hand.

That is so true, like when PPE said he was a guy and couldn't get pregnant... I busted a gut laughing over that. If he did then what.. Just odds and ends we read here gives us fits of giggling. HWG just make sure your not by yourself in the grocery store cackling up a storm in the isle by yourself :O

I started keeping a list but that soon became too long so I made a database. Mylot members: who post multiple discussions. who don't read their own discussions. who don't comment back. who don't accept different opinions to their own. who are a complete raving looney. These are people to avoid. And you just can't do any mylotting without a cup of coffee!

"And you just can't do any mylotting without a cup of coffee"...THAT'S ALL it takes to get on your list??? Dang--guilty as charged, but am happy I don't comply with the first 5 requisites! Guess we will have to start our own "Coffee with condiments Club!"

That is very true, Amfyre. In fact, some people don't even bother to give meaningful questions also, and churn out the same questions all the time. One favourite question which is asked by generations of Mylotters is "How can we increase our earnings in Mylot?", or "How can I get more responses to my discussions?" Others are concerned by their earnings in different sites like Clixsense, and want others' opinions on them. I mean, why can't people post questions on general topics which others would be interested to respond? And when they do respond, please do have the courtesy to comment back on their responses. I post very few questions myself, and I am more interested in responding to other people's discussions. But of late, with the quality of discussions degrading so drastically, I'm finding it harder and harder to get some discussions which i would be actually interested to respond to. And that makes me more frustrated and bored.

Don't blame you, pal, for feeling frustrated. Quality discussions are hard to come by nowadays, and it's useless to start any discussion since it will inevitably get buried under a deluge of worthless questions.

Yes, that is exactly how I feel. I feel I spend half the time searching for a good discussion and the other half responding. When I create a discussion there is only a few that I don't answer, one I honestly had NO idea what they were talking about. There was another that I did the really sad "thanks for responding" Occasionally I find something right away but sometimes I end up starting something, like this discussion out of frustration!

I am a newbie but it seems the point here is to engage in discussions - if someone asks questions and doesn't answer responses, it doesn't make sense (but I guess they are just looking to make fast "cents" rather than really participate in the site as intended). Yes, I would LOVE another cup of coffee!! Got any hazelnut creamer? Mmm...

I don'think this is the place for fast bucks! I am here because my friend refered me and said I would enjoy it here. For the most part I do, there seems to be some nice people here. I am sorry no hazelnut creamer but I do have Bailey's Irish Cream!

Little early for me to imbibe..BUT, that raincheck I asked for..could include some Bailey's! Forgot to say...Welcome to myLot to you both..Amfyre and mamasaid, and don't let the glitches deter you...spread your knowledge for our enjoyment. Remember, Kahlil Gibran's great quote; "words are just crumbs from the feast of a mind!" Enjoy!

So far it doesn't seem to be the place for fast bucks :) It's more about enjoyment and communication from what I can see - and there are some nice folks! Oooh, Baileys Irish Cream, now that's decadent! How did you know?!?!

i think it might be the fullfillment of a deep seated need, though what that need is probably varies considerably from person to person.

I am new on this site. I do not understand, how the character of the members of this site. As I know, this site is the site of discussion. So should respond who discussed. I want to create a discussion, but I have not found a way to create a discussion. I am still very confused. Since registering on this site, I just responded to a discussion that I found. I feel addicted, respond to discussions on this site. It was nearly half a day, my computer does not turn off. I too enjoy, that I forget time.

I would love a refill...but, I am off to work for a few hours, so will take a "raincheck!" Due to inclement weather, I spent more time than usual here this past weekend..AND Boy, oh boy--are you RIGHT! It seemed to have irked many, many persons, but the offenders carried on obliviously...just posting and posting with absolutely NO responses! I even stuck my neck out to some, and gently reminded them, their earnings increased with responding...but really, I got more respect from my dog...as he "woofed" back, and cocked his head, making every effort to interact..!! Even my old Ram, had a bleet or two back! Cheers!

We had a senior member here, whom used to end all his discussions with this comment; "the more I meet new people, the more I like my dog!"...and so, all the miscreant things I wish to add to some of these "never ending" questions of no consequence...I give a trial run on my pets...LOL! Mostly their responses are of the more intelligent variety than the questions! I, too, Amfrye, am aware of the language constrictions, but I truly believe that they are not READ, just skimmed over! By the way, amfrye...are you a re-cycled myLotter, as you are pretty wise to the ways of this cyber world..and your writing style seems somewhat familiar! Thanks for stopping by, binggaling..always nice to hear from you! Have a great one..KIDS!

"The Offenders carried on Obliviously" now that is the quote of the day! I know we deal with different persons from different countries and there is a language barrier but some are from " North America" I am not sure what thier excuse is ~might explain the half empty Bailey's bottle~ Once Upon sign Up there was the Do's and Don't's... maybe thier dog read that part! Think your Ram just bleeted in agreement ;)

Yeah that tends to happen with a lot of people. I'm guessing its because of a lack of understanding with how this great website rather works to say the very least. It is very tempting to post a lot of topics when inspiration hits and inspiration can rather hit often. However, there is something to be said about saving some topics for a rainy day. There are times where in some of the more absurd situations, I see about eight topic discussions by the same person in a row in a short time. Sit back and slow down a little bit. There's really no prize for making the most topic discussions in an hour. If there was, I shudder to think what might be posted. Then again, that's a rather common mistake.

It happens to a lot of us for the fact you are so use to writing and then you start to write about any and everything, and about time you get to the topic that you posted the first time someone else has responded to your other post then you are going back to respond and then, you got another response so then you go respond there, then you notice that you have some thing else to write about then you are writing and the going back to post, and then before you notice, you just go ahead and then write without responding some days then you go back and respond, so for soem people it takes time, then people can respond to old post to, and if someone respond to your old post then you are behind, so it's time that's all.

I log on in the evening and the morning for a little while. I like to relax with a cup coffee and browse, read, respond and sometimes start a discussion. And yes it takes time!

Im not as observant as you to know that some people started discussions and left it not bothering to respond back to the responders, it is because I only have limited time to use internet and mylotting :( but mostly when i respond to a discussion i get notification on my emails that the discussion starter has comment back on my response, it is nice to get a comment back from the discussion starter and if we can engage more into details discussion. I have started several discussions and I always try to give comment to the responder as soon as i could, I dont have problem to comment back because I dont get many responses just few and max is 9, I would love to get more responses but maybe it is me who dont know how to make interesting discussion. I would love to get coffee refill from you, but whenever I drink coffee it makes me feel as if Im in love..you know heart beating faster, feel anxiety, makes me feel uneasy, unable to sleep, you know almost alike falling in love syndrome hahaha :D I drink a mug of coffee this morning and I wont be able to sleep tonight .

I don't always respond right away either, sometimes I come back later when I have time to sit and think. I think if you are recieving a few responses then you are doing well, it all depends on the topic. Sorry to hear coffee bothers you, perhaps herbal tea?
