Not sure what the weather is going ot be doing but it should be soon for the flu germs to start flying around.
Found thses tips on how to try and stay flu free this winter.
Carry plenty of tissues to catch coughs and sneezes.
Throw used tissues in the bin straight away.
Wash hands regularly with soap and water, espically before eating, to prevent germs from spreading.
If able have a flu jab, you are entitled to a free one in the UK if you are aged 65 or over, pregnant and long term conditions

My tip for not getting any type of flu or cold is to boost your immune system by eating well. Eating lots of organic fruits and vegetables will give your body the strength to fight off these bad types of bacteria. Also avoiding processed foods that contain harmful chemicals. These foods are toxic to our bodies and weaken it, making it susceptible to colds and flu.
I have been eating this way for the last five years and I have not even had the slightest head cold or anything in that time. I used to get a week long cold at least once every year before that. If people follow this advice, then there is no need to worry about being overly fussy with hand washing, although that is not a bad idea, but using tissues is a horrible thing to do tot the environment. This habit can be avoided easily.

I suggest not getting sick in the first place. I choose not to get sick with flu and colds. I am a firm believer that we can all choose whether we get sick or not.

Prevention is better than cure,so should always be careful in the winter season as the nature becomes cooler and the cool weather can make us ill ,Main flu is the result of the cool surrounding.Should wear warm clothes and see that there is no dust anywhere ,try keepig the surrounding neat and clean and observing health tips would be of great use.
Thanks for that tissue tips, however only offices have those tissues ,and are used in the offices frequently.

Children can misuse the tissues ,so we should teach them that they are useful when it is needed and when they get a sneeze or cold should regularly use tissue so that the disease does not get carried to some one else in the classroom

I think!!!!! you are one of the few who has said drink lots of water.
Its a good job water is sort of free as it helps us for so many things in keeping healthy, looking after the body etc.
My children like drinking water, they are lazy(not really as its better for them). Rather than made everyone a drink they will just get themseleves a drink of water from the tap rather than make everyone a squash drink. Cheaper as well.
I always say, we clean our teeth with toothpaste, we wash our bodies with soap, wash clothes etc so we need to wash and keep clean the inside of our bodies by drinking water

First thing I do, is get flu shots for the entire family starting with my munchkins. All of us are scheduled to receive them this month. I also normally try to buy and stock up on a few medicines to keep handy for both adult and children for emergencies, have vitamin C's make sure all of us are taking them. Luckily I always keep tissues in the house and at my work, that is something we never run out of.

I have made it personally a routine to get my shots every year, just yesterday my kids got theirs. I want to avoid getting sick as much as possible.

I get a flu shot each year for starters. Had one last week. Also am a big hand washer which I think is my salvation. Won't touch or handle food unless my hands are scrubbed in hot water and soap. This includes making sure my fingernails are clean as well. I rarely catch anything including colds. Am more prone to sinus infections when the weather changes from hot to cool or cold. Have learned to sneeze into my elbow area when it's appropriate to keep from spreading germs.

It is impossible to avoid having the flu germs get into your body, as most are air borne.
However, the best way to avoid the flu, is to have an excellent immune system. If your immune system is very good, then even if the flu germs try to activate in your body, your immune system will knock it off before anything happens.
Eat lots of vegetables, fruit and salad, especially the greens, or bright colours such as red.
If you do feel the flu trying to get to work in your body, take plenty fo vit C and zinc. Take them whilst eating.

my school offered a free flu shot so I got it. Keep your immune system strong. Drink lots of water, vitamin C and echinechea(herbal).
Wash your hands. I also use sanitizing wipes on my students desks almost every day. This week has been bad. My class of 24 was down to 15 the other day. We had a stomach bug go through the building.

Thanks for this topic and the tips . Prevention is better than care . So a little extra care by staying away from flu ridden persons , eating healthy food to boost the immunity level and staying in a well ventilated and pollution free place is very essential . We should not waste time and immediately meet the doctor if we are at all attacked by flu . Keep the person having flu in a seperate room,if possible,to prevent further contamination . Rest in the hands of God who will protect us against all odds .

I don't try to stay flu germ free since it's useless.
The only thing I try is to keep my immune system in a good condition by:
eating healthy,
sleeping enough,
wearing the right clothes that fits to the kind of weather
go out every day (bike instead of car)
drink enough water.
I don't think that carrying around tissues is a way to stay flu free.
Hands should always be washed and not esp. before eating. Do you know how many germs there are in a shop, at school, your computer keyboard, doors, etc?

I use elderberry tonic to cure my flu like illnesses, you make it by heating red/black/ripe elderberries with sugar and cloves (don't use the green ones). Works good for me and I think it is better than a lot of those expensive over the counter flu remedies. You can buy elderberry extract in the pharmacy, under the brand name sambucol....

To stay from flu, wear your jacket at all times, eat fruits rich in vitamin C, take a bath everyday to wash away the germs. Most importantly, keep yourself away from those infected. If possible, consult your doctor if symptoms occur.
