After working almost non-stop for two decades, I am now at a lose. I used to stay and work in the city but because of family reasons, I need to stay in my hometown now. My Dad has become frail but since he doesn't like non-family members to keep him company. Since I am the only one among the sibling without a family of her own plus the fact that it's possible for me to be home-based, I was the natural choice to be with him. Now after about two weeks of a leisurely life, I am now bored. Good thing I had the internet connected so at least I can surf the net. Actually I just started working with a team of freelance writers to occupy my time. How about you? How soon do you get bored at home? What do you do?

I think i can never said my life is bored at home. I have so many offline matters to complete daily, so there is no time for me to get bored. Since the internet is available at my home, life is getting more busy. I am still trying to locate more time to online, so can earn well from all my earning sites. Since you have internet connection in your home, i think you won't feel bored as well. Just try to adjust your time equally between all those tasks and i am sure you will enjoy your life to the maximum. Hope you enjoy your stay in Mylot as well...

maybe I'll take up playing again but since I started writing again, I'm afraid that I might be distracted.

It takes me awhile to get bored, because I like to sew and to bake and to talk to my friends on the phone. I guess I might feel stuck if I lived far away from my friends, though. Is there a hobby or a sport you can take up?

I guess, it's really the change in the pace of lifestyle. Now I'm back to surfing the net and I've restarted blogging again.

I don't think I get bored being at home after coming back from school or work. But if I were to stay at home and not do anything I would get bored. I don't get bored if I stay at home the whole day for one day but after 2 or 3 days, I'll get bored. I work in the construction field as a helper with my dad (because I still go to school), and I since rain stopped us from working, I am here. But if the rain keeps on going on for more than 3 days, I will get bored.

It's never boring at home if you have chores that can occupy you. In addition, you can have an internet connected like you just did and surf and do Mylotting , whenever you feel like doing it. You can have a job online. You can watch your TV favorite shows . You can also exercise to keep your body healthy. Actually, you can do a lot while at home and not get bored at all. Or when you do get bored, go out and be with friends or call them to go over your house.

I am now quite updated with what's happening around the world due to the endless news program on tv. I've also taken up watching local drama.

Whenever I feel bored, what I usually do is to surf the net, open my facebook account, tweet, play games, watch DVDs and of course mylotting. Of all the things I've mentioned, mylotting really relieves me of my boredom because I really enjoy it whenever I respond to posts here. Do you think so too?

I have been out of work for over a year and mostly at home. I have lots of things I could be doing, but it would be nice to have a job away from home. I have recently started to do some freelance writing, and I have traveled a long way to see family this week. I can always clean, cook, or create if I am bored.

The company where I used to work in closed in the last week of August. So I've been free for more than a month. I also couldn't get a regular job since I have to leave the city to take care of my dad. It's a big change. Good thing I was able to start a full time writing job yesterday. It eases the boredom.

good for you to still be working as a freelance writer @ home. i do get bored once in awhile at home but thank goodness for the internet. i have 2 teenage daughters who usually don't want me around them when they're busy doing their thing in their bedroom. lol ...so i need to find myself a hobby. there's so much things to do online and i also make music videos and post them on youtube. i like video editing a lot. i've heard that we need to have something to look forward to doing every single day to stimulate our brain. that's what we should do also to avoid depression. best of luck to you :)

I think reading is always the better choice. A great exercise for the brains. If there's too many energy in that you want to release, I'd say dance. Well I love it, but yoga, working out and others are great too.

A week without going to work will make me too crazy but I am looking forward to it. I do hope to have a small business at home where I could always be at my daughter's side.

Thanks. Now I am missing the mall. The nearest one is about an hour from here. I miss the times when it was just 5 mins walk from the place where I stay.

I spend my boring moment, surfing the internet and also watching international news on BBC and CNN. There are times I just goes out of my home to take a walk around my neighborhood. I also spend my leisure time, going to the city centre to shop or window shop and this helps me to kill stress. I also do some of my regular exercise such as jogging, hiking, swimming and gardening.

First of all, I'd like to appreciate you for sacrificing your job in the city and accompany your father in your hometown. I'm sure that you will be blessed on doing so. About being bored, well, good that you have internet connection. You can do a lot of good stuff here as well as to earn money like being a writer. You can also take some time to watch movies or take long walks and make friends around. Don't worry, you'll be okay and I'm sure that you'll get to know what things that will make you busy. Good luck!

The pace is certainly different. I even went around and visited my old friends but there's a big difference now. Our interests are different and the likes. For me whose day is not complete without internet, I found out that most of them cannot even remember the passwords in their emails. I can relate better with their kids.

If I am in your position, I will surely try to find a way to get out of home and go out. But good thing that you are connected in the internet. You can do a lot of things in the internet. I also suggest you try to watch some movies or read a book. Try to marathon a television series or complete a movie with sequels. There are a lot of other things that you can try to do, but it depends on your interests and personality. Try painting, listening or practicing a musical instrument, or maybe even try to clean your home. That is better than being bored.

I am a worker at heart myself. I worked in the public for about twenty years before settling down to work at home. It was a difficult adjustment for me at first. I find that keeping a daily schedule helps a lot. And I work from home with some crafting and blogging as I'm doing right now. It just takes time to reset your mind to being at home. Just make sure you get out of the house every once in a while!
