Every year our family goes on a nature walk and look at all the changing leaves. We collect acorns along the way and other little treasures. We usually stop and take a family picture before going home. Sometimes we will even have a picnic lunch. I love this activity with my family and hope we can maybe all continue this even when they are grown. It is such a fun activity, and best of all we are spending family time together and it is free! Do you go on nature walks with your family?

Oh, I love to go on what you call "nature walk". We call them "hiking" and I think we're right as we wonder through the woods for hours, climbing easy mountains throughout old forests. It is a wonderful experience every time we do this. I had not have this habit before I met my actual partner. I had never been to a nature walk before she took me there. But now I love time spent hiking in the woods. We all enjoy that time and we also take tons of photos of the wild nature and beautiful landscapes.

My kids are grown now and two of them with families of their own, so we don't walk much together any more. When they were young and we were in the country, we used to take nature walks together. Now and then if I can catch my younger daughter, we take a little walk in a park or a nearby trail. I love to get out away from people and into real nature.

She enjoys walking, too, so it works out for both of us. If you keep walking with your kids now, they will probably still want to walk later. I've found that if I instigate something rather than waiting for them, they seem to be eager to do things.

I think that is so nice that you still walk with your daughter. I hope that once in a while my kids will want to with me when they are older, but it is ok if they don't.

birds in the bird bath - Our garden has it all for birds to spend most of their time.
I have a well laid garden with paths and my walks are confined to my garden. My garden has fruit trees, flowering bushes and lot of greenery. We therefore don't need to go anywhere else for experiencing nature. Our garden is so designed that it attracts a lot of birds and the bird bath is a sight to behold when so many of the birds come there for a swim throughout the day. This image here shows pigeons spending time in the bird bath.

You are asking for trouble rose if you have plans to put up a butterfly garden. All those caterpillars will thrive on your plants!

Aw, your garden is wonderful! I can only hope to have one so large and nice one day. My husband made me some bird feeders this year and the birds have visited all Summer. The children have fun watching them. We are hoping to plant a butterfly garden next Spring.

Yes,our family do this once a year,i think is great!to walk on river side, have some lunch, make some photo with green grass and trees,i think that should be called back to nature,it is relax your mood and helpful to your health, more to promote harmony between the family members,if you have a dog, that may be fantastic,a dog around you and shake its tail with delight, what a warm scene it is!

Nature walks area always fun for the whole family! We usually do this once a year, although we live on a farm with a huge woods and there's nature all around us lol. The last time we went to this park that had oak trees (which we don't have here.) So, I had the little ones pick up a couple of acorns each. When we got home I had them put them in a zip-lock bag, along with a few of the oak leaves, and stuck it in the fridge with plans on us planting them in the spring. Acorns need to be kept in the cold, but not frozen, till spring. We planted them just when the trees started 'waking up', and now we have 3 lovely oak trees! The kids were so excited about that. When we go elsewhere for a nature walk, we usually go to a park they've never been to, or a nature preserve that's just over the line into the next state. They love the time together seeing nature in some other area than just around the farm. They're all looking forwards to our fall nature walk this year, it's a nice family tradition!

You are so lucky to live on a farm and be surrounded by nature. I didn't know that about acorns needed to be kept cold. We will try this for this year and plant them next year. Thanks for the info.

Are you talking about doing a nature walk only once a year? I would be miserable if I did that. I go on nature walks as often as possible as my time allows me. I take the dog for a walk 3 times a day and around this area I see a lot of nature so I would miss it a lot if I didn't have that.

I like nature too and enjoy it when I can. All the flora and pretty little things you will find if you look. Of course the season has a lot to do with your activity. Sometimes I want to do it just for the fresh air and exercise other times to clear your mind sort of thing. I like the fall as it does not have the bugs we get in the summer. Fun to get lost on the trails in the parks too though they do have signs like Bob's Peak who ever Bob was!

it really a nice bonding time with your family.. Walking in nature with your love ones is a great thing to do.It may sound simple but as long as you are with your family it became more special.Doing picnic, some sort of games and activities.I hope all families will do it once in a while.
