Hello guys! Due to busy career, sometimes we are not sleeping at night but we're sleeping during the morning. Could you tell how it feels when you sleep not during night time but in the morning? When we we're children, we sleep at night. So, I would like to hear your opinions. If you're going to ask me? I would prefer to sleep at night.thanks!

It feels good to sleep at night, but there is a better feeling when sleeping in the morning, especially in the afternoon. When I sleep during afternoon I can feel that I get more relaxed.I also fell asleep easily in the afternoon than night.Maybe that is because I am nocturnal.
I regret not sleeping during afternoons when my mom want me too because now that I am older I no more have time to sleep during afternoons most of the times.:)

As a child raised in the Philippines I was forced by my guardians to take afternoon naps as well. It's just one of the things that kids here are expected to do---sleep in the afternoons. I often cheated then and pretended to sleep. Now, I totally miss taking afternoon naps since I as a working adult am no longer entitled to that.

You can actually sleep anytime you want, but sleeping at night has a different result compare to sleeping at daytime. I read that your cell are repaired better when you sleep at night than during daytime. I don't know why but, maybe because our body was designed to really sleep and not work at night. So, I'm quitting any graveyard shift and sleep instead.

I agree with stuckonu. Our body was designed to rest at night and recent studies shows that people working on graveyard shift are prone to different diseases and cancer I guess. So if I will be given the chance, I prefer working on a regular working hours although we cannot avoid to work on night shifts specially on my line of work.

Though I am in my graveyard shift right now, I must say that it is still best to sleep at night because that's where your body regenerates and gets to repair whatever it is that is being needed.
Nothing compares to a good sleep at night because when you sleep during daytime, all people are awake and it's hard for you to sleep because of the noise. LOL.

Hi Greninee, the body clock of everyone is different.
I think it is best that we sleep at the time when our body is ready for sleeping, and that we wake up fresh and alert.
I read that Queen Victoria was well known for sleeping during the day, and working at night.
Since she was able to control such a big empire, she must have chosen the best time to work and sleep.

During night is the best to sleep. Because different time in a day our body secretes hormones that our body needs. And at night time our body secretes a certain hormone that is effectively activated and used in our body when we sleep. That is why night time is really the best time to sleep. Have a nice sleep my friend.

I have tried working graveyard and it didn't work well for me. I worked nights and slept during the day but I always felt exhausted. I guess it's simply because my body was accustomed to sleeping during the night. It's just what we have been taught is normal to do. Therefore, when the situation changed, the change proved to be a challenge. However, there are some people who work different shifts for certain period of time. There are people who sleep at night and those who sleep during the day, and there are those who sleep somewhere in between. I think it really wouldn't matter as long as one is getting a peaceful sleep with the ideal number of hours.

I believe that the best, and more natural thing is to sleep at night, yet, according to some specialists, taking a nap, during daytime helps to increase the work performance.

The best time to sleep is at night. But due to work constraints,if one is forced to reverse the cycle then one has to make the best of a bad situation. If we sleep during the day and keep awake at night it has adverse health effects. Many in the computer related field are feeling the effect of this reverse schedule.

A good saying of some specialists is to sleep when you feel like sleeping. If you feel sleepy at about ten o'clock in the evening then your body needs a rest. It is good for health to go to sleep at about the same time every night. But I confess I can't keep this schedule. As for sleeping in the morning, I don't like it because I feel then sleepy all the day and my brain is lazy in thinking. But as someone here said, every person has a biological clock and one must do as such.

I prefer to sleep at night too, but, sometimes, this is impossible. It's bad, because after that you sleep during the day, you feel more tired than when you wake up in the morning. I try to not do that, but in these last weeks, I'm sleeping at 3:00 AM and then I sleep during the afternoon.

I think, the best time to sleep is during night times, since there will be silent and nice atmosphere.

I like to sleep always with out any time difference...I get holiday only one or two days in a week..So I will enjoy that day at it's maximum....It's very nice to sleep every time...As normal day, I like to sleep early at night...I will have some works for the next day...Then I can't to sleep daylight...I will be very tired at the time of having food...And that day's full tiredness comes at the night really...So I like to sleep at night... I believe that sleeping at night is still the best, though each and everyone may have a difference in body clock, but generally most of get better results sleeping at night. I tried sleeping the day and work at night for a couple of few months and I get tired easily. Maybe my body just needs more time to adjust to such a schedule. I don't know it just doesn't work for me.

I tend not to worry about when I sleep, because I am of the opinion, that my body will sleep eventually when it needs to do so. It can be inconvenient at times though. I don't sleep for many hours, but tend to do so when I am tired. I would prefer to sleep at night, but over the years, my work schedules have changed so much that my sleeping patterns got disrupted. For me it is important not to get stressed about when and how much I sleep as that can make is worse. I pracitice Zen meditation (zazen) and this helps a lot. _Derek

I probably sleep better during the day. I take a nap most days and it seems I sleep deeper then. I have heard that the best time to sleep is at night when it is dark but I don't think that is true for me. I also like to wake up early and then realize I don't have to get up and can go back to sleep. It is usually light then also.

Definitely, night sleeps are better for the body. It is here that the body recharges, and repair broken tissues. Afternoon sleeps are just breaks or time outs. They can not do to the body what night sleeps can.

We were meant to work in the day and sleep at night. But if you sleep during the day, it is best to reproduce night conditions for sleeping as well as you can, especially the exclusion of light from the chamber. This could give the melatonin production, referred to by Amanda, a better chance to kick in. There are other bodily mechanisms, e.g., cortisol production that are cyclic. If a cycle is established and maintained, it is better for health than if one chops and changes - but, unfortunately, some people have to do the latter.
I know of no evidence to suggest that in hot climates unmitigated by air conditioning the taking of a siesta is less conducive to health than working right through the day. We do not know exactly what proportion of our sleep needs to be in the dark.

We actually work efficiently at night because this is the time that everything is quiet and no interruption at all. But I would like to sleep more at night. I don't know if it's only me whenever I wake up late in afternoon because I over slept my back hurts. I wish I am awake in the day and do all my work so I can sleep at night!
