Why are there security guards who feels superior to employees and act as if they are the manager or something. I hate it when a guard sticks his nose where it don't belong. Just because they are assigned in checking bags and other stuff doesn't mean they are superior to everyone else. Have you encounter these kinds of secrity guards?

It's not what they do but how they do it that annoys me. Some guards are impolite and arrogant which is really out of place considering their position in the company. They are not the CEO to act like that, are they? I was just reminded of this because one of our current guard is notoriously bossy. He even threatens to punch one of my colleagues, a female one no less. But to be fair, our other guard is really kind and polite. So, I guess it still depends on the person.

Hi stuckonu!
I also hate it when I encounter guards like that. They act so authoritative just because they have the power to prevent people from going inside a establishment. It's opposite to the character that they should be, respectful and welcoming to all the people going inside the establishment especially to visitors and clients.

Do they feel superior or do we think they feel that way (just like policemen, some teachers, etc etc). I think this kind of behaviour/attitude has to do with the kind of job. Imagine you have a job as a security guard and you look like a scared rabbit and act very shy. I don't think you will make a big impression on the people you have to check up. I am sure they do not only meet very kind and honest people.

The guards of our school are very impatient and very strict. They don't know how to smile, and that annoys me.I wonder why they are selected as guards when they cannot entertain people well.Well I have to just be patient. They are guards.

Yes, I've encountered that a lot of times back when I was in college! They really wont let us in the campus if we don't have ids. It's really frustrating. What calms me down is the thought that that is why they only do what they do (guarding posts) is because they are less educated than we are so my patience for them will persevere.
