Hello guys! I was so happy today thinking that tomorrow I gonna start my first day of work after a few years of being a full time mom. I'm just wondering what I'm gonna say when the manager would ask me to introduce myself in front of everybody. I doubt it, if I would tell them my experience being a mom, it won't interest them for sure. Though I have lot of experiences before I got married but then I already forgot everything. Imagine I quitted my job 2007 and today is already 2011! What I'm gonna do?

Jenith Congrats on your new job. I am happy to read you are so excited about it. My goodness being a Mom is hard work and requires discipline, endurance, putting anothers needs before your own, compromising, planning and the list goes on. You have learned some skills that anyone who has not been a stay at home Mom doesn't have..hold your head high...you are an achiever in both worlds...the parent world and the employment world..

Thanks a lot ChicksDigsCars!!! Yes, it is best to remember that something might go wrong, as you've been out of practice... Once you get a hang of it, everything goes perfectly well.. In any case, I hope the first day went well without any troubles for Jenith.. .I'd like to know how it was... :)

Congratulations! Being a mother is not easy. For sure married people in your office will be interested about your parenting experience. If you really doesn't want to discuss it then just tell them something about yourself. Your attitude and what do you expect in that company and what would be your contribution.

You'll get used to it. Then once they get married, they will definitely seek for your advise on things. I know you are still young at heart and in no time you will be friends with your office mates. You might think that you just have few things in common but you can never really tell until you get close to each other.

So sad when I found out that most of my mates were singles but it's okay. I just knew that I'm not getting any younger. There's really a big difference 'coz before everybody calls me their youngest sissy but now they gonna call me as their eldest sissy. I felt so uneasy.

Tell them you have spent the last few years managing a private company where you were required to handle the positions of cook, housekeeper, finance and budget specialist, chauffeur, occasional medic and full-time wife and mother. You thought it was time to take a break and get a job that did not require you to be onsite twenty-four/seven. Make no apologies for doing the most important job in the world. Good luck!

Congratulations for that. Now that you have a job, make sure that you take care of it and make the most out of it. You should have all the dedication in the world, and your job would be kind to you, specially in this present economic slump we are having.

I always cross my fingers that I'm still smart as before. There's a big difference. I'm not used to be called big sister. I missed myself as a youngest member of a group. If I didn't stop working when I got married, I would have been in a top position for now. How I wish to turn back times.

So sad I just quit. My son can't sleep in a day without me at his side 'till he got sick. I need to choose between him and my job and of course I choose him, he is very important to me. We are not allowed to be absent since we are just newly hired and once we do it, they consider it quit.

Congratulations for getting a job. I know how it feels to be working again after being a stay at home wife for years. I felt that too before. But when asked to introduce yourself, give a brief information about yourself and then proceed to your experiences of other jobs. Just tell them what your positions or jobs are. No need to elaborate. They are just curious of your previous jobs.

congratulations! I'm glad that you got a job, it must be exciting but also nerve wracking at the same time to go back after all of these years. what job did you get? do you think you'll miss being at home with your kids all the time or are you looking forward to going back into the working world, and you feel it's time? I bet it'll be an adjustment for your kids as well because their used to having you at home all the time.

It was very exciting when I got the job but during my first day it's more on a nerve wracking stuff. Seems like I was left behind and how I wish I didn't stop working even if I already married but who would take good care of my lil boy.

Oh don't worry. And congratulations. You must be really excited. I think you will remember everything once you are there. It must be just like taking and exam. You study hard and after that when you started trying to recall you seem to forget a lot. But when the actual examination comes, then everything comes getting back in your mind. Just relax and enjoy your new job. Take care.

I would like to wish you all of the best for your new chapter, it must be a great feeling stepping into the Corporate World again, earning your own salary once again. I am sure you going to enjoy every minute of it. 2007 is a long time ago, so many things have changed with regard to technology, but remember the basics will remain the same. Enjoy!

You surely feel nervous to go back to work after staying at home for years. I have that feeling too before when I wasn't able to get a job right after my graduation. I was at home for about 6 months and I do not know what to do when I will be starting with my first job. But I conquered my fear and managed to show other staffs that with continuous practice and open-mindedness, I will be just like each and one of them. So now, being in the job for 3 years, I guess I have improved more and more each day

I'm really looking forward to have lot of friends specially now that I'm already working unlike when I just stay home that I have no one to talk to. I want to have people around so I can talk to them specially during my down moments.

Well, congratulations.. I believe tommorow will be your happiest moment.. I am sure you able to adapt quickly since you have already good experience earlier. The only problem you face maybe, you will miss your child while working..HOwever, if you have somebody you trust to taking care of him or her then should be no problem so that you can concentrate your working and call from office if you missed only..good luck

Thanks mhel. Full time mom and at the same time a wife are the toughest job I ever had. I really salute for all the responsible mommies out there specially those who have 3 or more kids. It's so hard but as a mom we need to do stuff whether we like it or not just for their sake.

Hey girl, CONGRATULATION :-) Honestly speaking your superiors will really get bored when you tell them of your being a mom if,that's all you will tell them..They did not hire you to be a nanny or a househelp, did they??Try to remember your working experiences before, so they'll be confident that they've hired the right person. And before you end it give them a short statement with regards to your being a mom..That will impress them for sure.. Goodluck on your new job..
