I'm a second year engineering student and i am the type of student who barely pass my major subjects. Tomorrow, I'll be getting my grades at our school. Right now, I'm really so uncomfortable because i am not that confident about my grades again. I have some doubts although i did my very best for the whole semester. My Dad is expecting much that's why i feel a lot of fear right now and i don't know what to do. Sometimes its really hard to be an optimist and i'm losing my hope. i feel like quitting because i already experienced of having a failing grade . Is there anybody here who's having the same sentiment? I need your help mylotters. I need some words of wisdom to keep my hope flaming. Thank you. :(

By this time you probably had already gotten your report card but since I got interested with your post I would like to give an advice which I think will help you in anyway. It sounds to me that you already tried to be optimist but it never worked out as what you hoped it to be. What probably holding you back from doing good at school is the fact that you are getting to much pressure from your environment (your family and school). Have you already tried making a schedule for your school works? When I say schedule, keep it this simple, don't have a specific number of hours spent in studying. Just allocate even 1 hour of your time each day to review your notes and if you feel like want to do something, don't delay it..do it as abrupt as you can because if not it will be a destruction to your study. Once your done with it then go back to what you were doing. Remember forcing yourself to do something but you actually want to do another thing is not healthy. It will just gonna be a double egde problem since you were no able to do the thing you want to do and t=at the same time you were not able to successfully do what you were doing.

I am an over achiever, I didn't really start as one, but as I grew up people around me started to expect more from me so I tried my best not to disappoint them. But college is definitely hard, I wasn't even expecting to get into the dean's list anymore after seeing my first 2 grades..luckily the rest of my grades made me reach the cut.. You should not give up, I have some friends who are in the same situation as you and they just ask help from others and dedicate their time in studying.. We'll get through this someday.

From my own realisation, I say that getting a failing grade is more difficult than scoring the pass marks.
Anyway, forget what already has happened and think of making a way to a better future.
Well, keep in mind, what work behind making a clear way to success are
1) self encouragement
2) self motivation
3) developing self confidence
4) imagining yourself there, where you are heading to
5) adopting suitable techniques to overcome difficulties and avoid failures
Wish you success!
