Every births come with a death penalty and when this death penalty be executed is all up to God. Some die young and some live on till they have blown 100 candles and cut 100 birthday cakes or more. Am sure many of us are reluctant to leave the comfort of this material world and hoping that we be given extended lease of life so we can continue the journey on earth breathing fresh air everyday while enjoying the technological revolution that keep the body or at least the brain alive indefinitely.
With God's blessing, man has come up with something to add more years to our life which if being practised consistently may benefit humankind which can be quite easily done. You should check this link which I find quite interesting. http://health.yahoo.net/articles/aging/photos/easy-ways-add-20-years-your-life#0

Oh good grief no....
Why in the world would I want to be on this miserable rock any longer than I have to? What exactly on this planet is so good, you want to stay here longer for?
You must have an exceptionally happy life. I can't imagine. But perhaps you are blessed with so much happiness, you can't stand to leave.
Man, if I could take a pill and leave this place, I'd be gone by night fall. Sooner I'm in Heaven and away from this awful place the better!

You'll have to forgive me for not being excited to suffer for another 35 years. I don't mean physical pain suffering, I mean pointless monotonous existence.
What do you do here on this planet? Perhaps you have some great thing, and that's wonderful.
For me, I get up in the morning, and trudge off to some place I don't want to go. Spend 8 hours doing something I don't want to do. Then I come home and go to bed, so that the next day, I can repeat it all. Day after day. Month after month. Year after year.
15 years ago, I was earning $11 dollars an hour, in a boring job, putting computers together. Last year I was putting computers together for $12 an hour.
Between those two, I have had roughly 35 different jobs. I've lost every job I liked, and been promoted at every job I hate. I have tried to do computer programming, to truck driving, to auto mechanic. I failed out of college, and failed at everything I have tried to do, despite my absolute best to do it.
I have given life my all. Everything I had to give, has been given and lost. I'm now 35 years old, have a whooping $100 to my name, and absolutely no hope whatsoever in life.
I am completely serious in what I've told you. I mean it 100%. I was once asked how I would feel if a doctor told me I had only 24 hours to live, and I told that person... who happen to be my father, that I would be completely happy for once in my life.
No regrets. I did my best, but I'm a failure. I'm ready for it to be over.
Perhaps G-d did put me here for a reason. Perhaps the purpose of my life is to serve as a warning to others. I don't know. Whatever it is, I absolutely hate the idea that I have to spend another 35 years here.

I don't really ask God for an extended life. I simply thank Him for the blessings that came my way. I can't say that I'm good to go, I want to accomplish many things like being able to help other people, and have kids.

Yes I think all these things are something that people need to learn to encorporate in their lives somehow. I know Shows like Biggest Loser teach everyone the importance of eating right, and excercise and it is interesting when they show the age of someone at first and then months later after excercise. This is one thing that many people need to encorporate more so they will be healthier and live longer for sure. Will also save them money for Doctors bills as well.

I don't pray so much for long life but for a healthy and peaceful life for my family friends and relatives. i believe the quality of life is more important than the length of ones life and it would be very sad for a loved one to live an extended life of pain and suffering. But, mostly I do believe in the power of prayer. I recently was afflicted with a serious illness and I truly believe the prayers of my family and friends are what allowed me to be here today. May God Bless everyone reading this post.

I always believe in the power of prayers. I have on several occasions experienced my prayers answered. I agree that having a quality life of pain free existence is so much better than having to endure sufferings on earth of all the unwanted diseases that often lick on aging bodies.

Hello there.
My answer to your question is no. Most of the times I will pray for blessed life. Since living a long life without blessing will be like wasting time. Life without blessing will be a miserable life cause you will feel that most thing that you did won't work out. Even if our life right now are blessed but in the future we don't know yet. That's why we must make sure that our future are guaranteed by praying and do good things everyday, every hours, every minutes, every seconds and every breath that we breathe.
Happy myLotting. :)

I pray for better health for myself and loved ones. I ask God's help to stay away from harmful food stuff and that He lead me safe from my trips outside the house. I think God's blessing if I shall have extended years as to do more tasks assigned to me by Him.

Yes, I always pray at night ask God for extend life. Not for me, but for my family. I don't want to see someone from my family dying before me. It's better if I die first than anybody else in the family. i don't want to feel the pain of losing someone. And I am grateful that all of us in the family are strong, nobody has severe illnesses.
