So, I was drinking some iced tea and manged to spill it. Most went on the floor, down my front, and on to the chair, but some got on my keyboard tray and suddenly I'm having issues!x xx Take those 'x' for example... that's what I get when I hit the return key.x x and I was getting some surprise "8" too and now sometimes it will 6just high light stuff and I'm getting funny numbers in things too.x x so, sorry for the crazy stuff in my discussion here, and sorry for any that slip into responses...8 I hop8e 8my keyboard will8 dry out tomorrow!

Try using a hairdryer on the keyboard. (I would have answered sooner, but I couldn't get on the site!)

I was going to recommend a hair dryer myself, but thought it could damage the electrical in it.

Haha let it get dry my friend! It can get worse if you still use it while it is not totally dry.

I heard that it is still possible to use your gadgets even it was wet when you will dry it completely for around 2 weeks,if it's totally wet.Any attempts to repair it when it's still wet can only make the problem worst.I have a friend whose laptop was spilled with milk. They brought it to a technician and try to recover it immediately. The result is it just gets worst, that she needed to purchase another keyboard because of that.

I'm forever losing keys, and it's normally because my kids have been using my laptop whilst eating. It drives me bonkers! And it's never the keys you don't need very much, but always the A or E or something. Fingers crossed you are back to normal soon!

hehe. You can use the keyboard through the settings on the accessories menu, in the mean time, but I agree with the first responder, let it dry. Though I suppose by now it has dried. Silly keyboard. It seems you spilled none on the keyboard itself but it still absorbed the shock. I keep my drink as far as I can away so that if it spills it spills on other stuff, as I'm a klutz.

I haven't used it in years, heck not sure what OS's it's still on. Glad you got a new keyboard though, Goodwill is the place to go. Most of the time there like no more then $4.00 there.

Give her time Elic. I am sure the keyboard is a she as it is only the females that make so much fuss. They need a gentle touch too I have noticed. I have a special brush with which I brush her every day. She likes no less than surgical spirit for her bath. Remember all this when you next mess her up! She hates tea and that much I know.

I've spilled coffee in my keyboard before and it's been okay - and then again, it hasn't. four days ago some spilled in the keyboard and ruined it totally - refused to work even when dry. For once I had an extra keyboard sitting around - a pain in the as* keyboard - the keys are somewhat slanted and I keep typing in the wrong key - hard to get my fingers perfectly on this keyboard - but it works, at least. wishing you keyboard success!

My other keyboard was ergonomic and I miss it! At least this one is working! The spare also had issues, but this one seems pretty good - for a plain old flat board

Oh Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!! did you try turning it over on its face (or tummy) so it could drain out? How about a warm hair dryer blowing on the keyboard? My favorite thing to dry out things is to use those silica gel packets that come in medicine and vitamins and put them with injured item in a sealed plastic bag. Or if you ever have had the hobbie of drying flowers you would have silica gel on hand as well. Good luck.

I have done that a few times, with coffee. I always drink cofee at my computer. I eat here too. The number of times I have splilt coffee and sometimes major spills, it's a wonder my keyboard stayed alive so long. I get lots of food crumbs in the keyboard too. Every now and then I have a clean up of the keyboard by tipping it upside down. Your keyboard will dry out, but how affected the keys will be I don't know.

We usually take a hair blow dryer and put it on low and dry the components. It still may still now and then because tea is sticky. I wish you good luck with it being better when it dries.

I spilled a half of bottle of water on my computers keyboard last year. It never worked again! Even when I let it dry out! I had to get hold of my older brother and ask him if he could get me another one! Luckliy he is the brother who is a computer programer and was able to get hold of a new keybaord for me which he sent in the mail to me! I am grateful I have a brother like him!

You can take the keys off and wipe off the liquid in it. Let it dry before you put on the keys. But if the said procedure wont work then you probably need a new one.

hi elicbxn I hope its getting better by now.I spilled water on mine and finally had to get a new keyboard. No I learn to keep the glass full of water far enough away it will not hurt the keyboard. so my only problem is food in the key board like crumbs which I do brush ou t or use forced air.

That is why I refuse to eat or drink at the computer. I know I would spill it and then have problems. It is a way to refrain from eating also. I hope everything dries out and nothing serious is wrong.
