Is myLot getting better or my Attitude gets better?

Some of you know that I have been away from myLot for a while. I have not been participating regularly since May when I went to visit my mother. When I got back, I faced lots of problem with my computer and my internet connection. When those problems got solved, personal problems started. It had been problems after problems for sometime. In the middle of all those, I didn't have enough time to participate actively in discussions, though I do sign in from time to time. This is an apology to all my friends who cared about me. I am truly sorry that I just went AWOL (to quote one friend). It is comforting to know that someone cared. Hugs to all who cared. . This time round, I plan to be more regular - I know I said that before....oh well, what can I say, except I'll always be back, no matter what. myLot seems to be better these days, in terms of discussions. May be it is just me. There was a time when all you could see on 'Recent' tab was about Making Money online and someone blatantly advertising and hunting ref with their ref links. Of course there are still lots of money making discussions, after all, that's what gets most of us to register in myLot. It seems to me that those are less. Of course, there are still some distasteful discussions - but that's to be expected in a community as big as myLot having members from all corners of the world and all walks of life. All in all, the quality seems to be improving. There are lots of interesting discussions, even if I am not particularly interested in some of them. In general, the discussions coming up are all interesting. Is this just me - my attitude towards the discussions are better or I'm just back and looked at it in a new light? Please share your opinion and ideas of myLot discussions.

I am pleased to see a discussion from you again. I also believe that the quality has improved : the discussions violating the guidelines are quickly removed -- perhaps too quickly sometimes --, the members are more friendly and there is more interaction than before... I would not say that everything is perfect -- myLot has some server/update problems this month, and they have probably discouraged several new members --, but I feel more comfortable than last year : you are right, myLot is better.

LOL, new members have to read them. If not, a lot of old members knowing the FAQ and guidelines by heart -- and one more, now that you are back -- would be pleased to quote these documents until they have understood them fully.

Hey topffer, nice to be back. Even better to find that I still have friends here. It is indeed good to hear that Guideline violations are quickly removed. That would surely clean up the place. As mysD mentioned, there seems to be a lot more interaction in discussions too. Not just 1/2 comments, but commenting back and forth and real interactions between members. Not many questions that has already been answered in FAQs and Guidelines as well. That must mean that new members read FAQs and Guidelines.

In the last three days, I have quoted only ONCE....thereby prompting this discussion. Do you think we have finally gotten through?

Yes, Zralte, your thoughts are the same as mine. I too have been only on and off in the past few months and have not posted much but I have been able to read the topics and they are certainly different. There is alos a lot more activity in discussions too making less time to post the 'nonsensical' topics too probably. There appear to be many more Lotters who spend their time commenting backwards and forwards compared to, let's say, a year ago and that makes it all more interesting

A year ago...hm...I would say compare to before May, that is before I went away. It is now a lot better. Most of the discussions that I have seen has got the commenting back and forth. There are only few discussions that I have seen that does not have the discussion starter not coming back to comment back, thereby stops other members from discussing it further. A shame, really. It is nice to see we are slowly learning.

It is just over a year that I have stopped being active here daily like I was before and that is when Imake the comparison. Several Lotters who just started topics, listened to the advice, saw the results and then changed their ways. At some point they then mentioned their increased earnings and others have followed them and we are seeing the results

Let that improvement continue........I do understand that as a newbie, it can be overwhelming, but then there were some members who just won't pay attention to the guidelines. As mike mentioned, GAA being active here really makes a difference too.

Hi Zralte! Welcome back. It is nice to see you back on the board and hopefully this time you are going to stay for longer duration, before you disappear. Quality of discussions is getting better because more members are added everyday. I love to be here on mylot and always enjoy new discussions.

Hi Zralte! I kept the notification 'on' for your posts and therefore, I was pleasantly surprised to see notification for your discussion. Now if you start a discussion which is against the guidelines, your discussion is likely to be deleted sooner than later. Diwali was as usual. How was your Diwali.

Hi Deepak, Thank you for the warm welcome. Nice to know that I still have friends. I think new members learn a lot better than when I was a newbie There used to be tons and tons of discussions of which the answers can be found in the FAQs or guidelines. I was guilty of asking some obvious questions when I was a newbie . Hope you had great Diwali.

Yes, I hear that GAA has been more than regular these days. Diwali...the kids enjoyed watching the fireworks and the lighting. The older one especially, as she gets to stay up late almost every night with the holidays.

well i think there is still a big problem for us new mylotters. we have to type our discussions or responses in a short time and finish them quickly otherwise it will fail to submit. and we are not allowed to paste our comment when our rating is less than 500. So i have to split my response into two responses. sorry for that. hope this problem will be solved some days later.

Hi hongqi, I did face the same problem yesterday, though it was only because the myLot updating in progress. I typed in my comments and when I submitted, the updation was in progress. And since it's gone on for quite sometime, lost me comments. Now, I have to type it all over again. Thank you very much for your compliments. I try to be of help to anyone who wants my help. I help them in whichever way I can. Well, the money-making thing has definitely gone down, but the discussions about myLot upgrade problems and glitches are in abundance at the moment. Let's hope that the glitches and errors are sorted out soon.

Hi zralte During the days you were away, we had some conventions and some committees formed who did that CLeansing of MyLot. I am not sure how long that would be effective now that you and me both are back Personally, yes, I now dont have to skip many discussions and also find the changes have been for good. I only hope that things stay this way for a while now. The seniors and the caretakers need be thanked for this and I am sure you and many would agree

What adverts? I didn't see anything like that....but then I am somewhere off and on today. No wonder I missed it. I think you are the one who put the adverts in the first place.

Happy Mylotting - Happy mylotting
Hi Zralte, Welcome back! How are you doing? Both the things are correct. Firstly, you have quite rightly observed that there have been some changes in myLot. Perhaps you have also seen the "Alert message" from mylot about those up-gradation process. Secondly, like world's population, myLot's population is also increasing every minute and older mylotters are getting more older and learning things, understanding FAQs and guideline in a better way, developing good sense of discussion, learning new and logical ways to start a discussion, responding in a decent and sensible manner --- in short -- contributing positively to myLot. Once again welcome back. Last but not least, you are back after a bit long gap, you are excited as you like to be here at myLot...you now have enough time to be here...all your difficulties are gone...your system and connection are ready to serve you better...with new energetic attitude of yours, the things are appearing better and wonderful

Hi Nishant, thank you for the welcome. It's good to be back. Yes, I noticed that and I forgot to mention the Alert system. mysD pointed it out to me that we can now send message directly to GAA without having to wait for FR approval. I think that would free up some time GAA has to spend on approving the FR and then sending messages to the member asking how they need help, etc., he can now directly go onto the problem(s) the member has. Hope you had a great Diwali.

We don't celebrate Halloween. We've enjoyed Diwali, though. Great fun watching the Fireworks, though the neighbor dampens the spirit by kicking the debris onto our side. Still great fun.

Actually mylot has not really changed. For me it is just the same as before. There are days when discussions are really good and interesting to me but there are days when discussions are but boring to me that I have to just leave after participating in one or two. Now maybe you came at a time when many discussions of your interest are posted but certainly it won't happen every day.

We all have those kinds of days when nothing goes right. The only thing we can do is like what you've been doing, such as having a more positive attitude, or looking beneath the surface of the dark clouds to find the silver lining. I believe that things happen to us all in life for a reason. On many an occassion, I've found that the things in my life I thought to be major problems for me sometimes turned out to be blessings in disguise. All we can do is focus on the things we can control. As for the things in our lives that we can't control, the best thing to do is to leave them in the hands in a higher power in the Universe that is greater than ourselves.

Hi Keola, that is so true. I used to fret over many things of which I have no control of. I try to stop worrying about every little thing, especially those that I can't control anyway. It makes me a happier person. What I am saying here, though, is the improvements in the quality of discussions that can be seen in myLot.

Thanks, jazel_juan. I think I have seen you around before, though not sure either if we have interactions before. I do find it a lot better than before. If it is going to improve at this rate, may be I should go on more AWOL. May be my absence was what makes it better.

I just have been actively participating on mylot for about four weeks. I created some topics in which sometimes the discussion would then be deleted. I never totally read the guidelines and rules, I knew I understood those rules but somehow my post got deleted because my post violated the rules here. Then, I read some discussion from friend started that speaks a lot of about rules or guideline participation. I slowly made progress in the look how and what the discussion won't get deleted. My understanding just went sensitively work well when each time I wanted to start a discussion. I thought my behaviour work better and my participation was not only based on money purpose, but also I wanted to know how antusiams the user to my post and the best responses to my discussion. Tha's it.

Hi sijabatnaburjut, welcome to myLot. I am glad to hear that you are learning from your mistakes. It is indeed disheartening when a discussion gets deleted. Not only we lose our time there (not to mention what the earnings could have been), we also waste our friend's time which they could have spend on some other discussion for money. As other members have confirmed, GAA has been doing a great job in keeping the place clean. I think that is one of the main reasons majority of the members decide to follow the guidelines better than before. Have fun and Happy Lotting.

Hello Zralte, Sorry for the problems dear hope now on you will be regular MYLOTTER. I have been here for last 6 months and i did not find any change what you have been discussing.May be as you have been here from last 2 years so you may have noticed the change. But since i have joined i have observed that whenever i find a referral link or promotion link in a discussion once and again when i try to find out that particular discussion i have never found it they are deleted so early by admin. Even last 2 days 2 of the discussions got deleted which i never thought will be deleted but admin knows it why they got deleted? Hope once you will get more active here you will notice many more changes which were not there when you last joined it and you will certainly realize it that these are for the betterment of this site only.

Hi sjvg, your nickname baffles me. Let me venture a guess, if you don't mind - Sanjeev Garg or Sanjeev something......you don't have to confirm it. Yes, I do hope to be a regular Lotter again, God willing. So GAA is pretty strict now and quick too, that is good to know. I have to say, he did step into a big mess when he first joined. I love seeing the improvements on this site. Let's hope there are more to come.

I find it so much easier to respond to topics posted on myLot so I'm very appreciative of the versatile manner presented! Since there are more topics to select from, one is able to construct a conversation in any interest they please! This way provides a huge amount of customer satisfaction because more social wants can be fulfilled. And with an active community, it's easier to hold a decent conversation and the more replies andviews keeps the interest level up!

Hi dellesimon, welcome to myLot. This is the reason why myLot is still alive and kicking. Lots of topics, lots of discussions, and the only limiting thing is our time. There used to be lots of junks along with the interesting things, that makes it difficult to spot the good ones. It has been pointed out to me that the Admin has done a great job in keeping those pesky Guideline Violations away, well, deleting them as soon as they pop up. Because of that, it is very easy to go through the discussions and participate in ones interest. Good Luck and Happy Lotting.
