Then, get a grip on your seats as our pilot from LOT Polish Airlines landed his Boeing 767 with 230 people onboard WITHOUT wheels or rather landing gear, when the plane had a landing gear failure.
The plane actually skidded on its belly for the entire length of the tarmac of Warsaw International Airport which brought about sparks and fire on the fleet's starboard engine and without any further incident on all the passengers onboard who incidentally, originated from Newark, New Jersey.
No one was injured!
Thank God! Praise the Lord! Most of all, Captain Tadeusz Wrona and co-pilot Jerzy Szwartz who are pivotal to this miraculous emergency landing.

Having been born and raised in New York City and lived there much of my life, until a few years back, I love that city and I am not surprised that he was able to do it. It made sense, it just took some quick thinking and confidence.
I am sure, though, that he had angels to guide his hands. I love a good ending to what could have been a bad thing.

nanajanet,
I do not know about God being in the cockpit and the controls but it does seem that His hand was lifting the plane as it skidded on the tarmac without the anti flammable measures.
Unlike the landing in Hudson, which was on water this was on a solid tarmac which is a certain 99% explosive episode. Anyway, I am really glad that there were no casualties and most of all fatalities

You say OUR pilot, were you on the plane?
Landing without landing gear can be hazardous, however, in that case the pilot had control of the plane. He was able to circle the airport for awhile before deciding to try a landing. In the New York case , the pilot was losing control. He initially hoped to go to Teterboro a smaller airport used for private jets but realized he would not have made it that far. He had to decide quickly where to go and chose the river. Landing on water is not the easiest thing to do, even with good control of the plane. One little mistake and he could have submerged the plane instead of floating it on the river. Landing on a runway without landing gear is more common than landing on water.
