I don't like smartphones.

I recently bought a new Android phone. It's an LG Optimus S. It has all of the great apps from the Android Market, a fast browser, and is very up to date. However, it makes normal things so hard! Sure I can have any application I want...But it's a hassle just to send a text message, make a call, or take a picture. It's all touch screen which I also cannot stand. I ended up going back to my old LG Rumor Touch with the keyboard. It's old and simple, but I don't care. I feel like I went out of my way to get a brand new Android due to all of the buzz, and I prefer my old phone after all. I mostly use my phone for messaging and pictures, so there was no point in having an amazing Android phone that can do all of these awesome things aside from send a text and take a decent picture. Sometimes I think technology gets more credit than what it's worth. I'd rather stick to what I'm used to. Oh, the battery life was horrendous as well. What's the point in having a phone if it's not charged in case of an emergency? Makes no sense. Do any of you prefer regular phones over smart phones like Androids or iPhones?

I like smartphones better than the old phones. Sure there are some advantages and disadvantages, but I think the advantages surpass the disadvantages, specially now that we are in a world were modern technology is improving by the minute, we should learn to adapt with new devices that are coming up. You will learn to appreciate your new phone eventually, it just takes a little bit of getting used to.

the advantages is the longer life of the battery before an urge to charge again... imagine, you can you is at around 7 hours of none-stop internet and gaming and talking too... and the message can accept unlimited storage and good for loading business whenever your customer ask for a load confirmation past 8 days again and you have something to show because the confirmation messages are still there because it accepts unlimited entry of confirmations....

well thats the advatage of phone with extra and large memory, you can store your messages in your larger memory so you can save important messages. you dont need to erase messages anymore because of lack memory.

I know a few people that have Androids and I hate them. It might have all the latest stuff but it's too much trouble for me. I used a friends phone and tried to get on youtube and had so much trouble and it's just not worth it to me. I hate touch phones because if you accidentally "touch" the wrong thing then it takes you to something totally different. I would rather have a Keyboard phone with the Qwerty keyboard that slides out. I find these much easier to use and I just like them a lot more.

I just got a new Android phone a couple of months back. I had a Nokia phone. It does not have apps, it had a qwerty keyboard. After it fell a couple of times, it was not working very well. Thus, I had to get a new one. I needed a phone that has a couple of functions. One, to receive and send emails easily. With an Android phone, I discovered this could be done much simpler. in fact, it can notify you of new emails coming in. I need this for work mainly. I'm seldom on the computer and always on the go. So I really liked this aspect of the smartphone. I hate the battery life. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2. It's battery life is super short due to the large screen size and all the apps running. I also do not like to use the virtual keyboard. I prefer my Nokia qwerty keyboard. I used to write articles on the train or bus. For half hour period, I could actually write two articles with my Nokia phone. I am not as efficient with the samsung virtual keypad, I make mistakes easily because the screen is so sensitive. Sometimes when you just hover your finger (without touching the screen), it gets activated. Thus I make more mistakes. I hate that. I'm thinking of getting a second hand phone, just for my writing purpose.

On the contrary, I like smartphones. At first when I used the touch screen, I also didn't get used to it. But now I like it a lot because it is convenient for me when I surf the net by my cellphone. And I don't think the smartphone is very complicated. If you know how to install the software in your computer, then it is similar with your smartphone. I like to have more apps since I like to take advantage of it. Today I especially like watch movie and surf the net from my cellphone. It is quite convenient. I love China

Hello. Whatever may have been the buzz, hype and anything that the makers of high end phones and the people who fancy them, I have remained unaffected by it all. I choose my phone based on the functionality I need from it. I have seen it on Nokia site [and I assume other device makers' sites too provide them] is a tool for you to filter the available phones according to the functionality & features you look for. Since I am in a professional day job, my basic requirements are a good push mail facility and a qwerty key board for ease of typing text longer than short messages. And I need a large screen, standard camera and a browser for normal viewing. That's about it. I have my Blackberry and I am quite happy with the features that match my functionality needs. I will not be swayed by any hi-fi devices as long as I get into something that makes them inevitable.

Well you got the point for that. Android phone has a very low battery life because of the programs its runs. And the interfaces are quite complicated for people who not used to it. It's true that for now i will sticks with my old phone too. But if in the future they can make a better batery life and easier interface to use, maybe i will use it too ^_^

I have an Iphone i got it like 3 months ago the thing that really annoys me is that when i first got it it was fast but then as time progressed the fastness just started to lower and there wasnt any point i would have rather stayed with my blackberry i would never have had any problems with it.

This has been a big help for me.I have been debating whether to get smartphone or not. With the price higher than normal phone, I am not really sure if it would be really useful for me. I used my phone as a phone and occasional texting. I was wondering if I will start using web access on the phone if I have a smart phone. I think I will stick to my trusted Nokia for the time being. I can see that I am not going to use most of the features anyway.

I'm fine using any types of mobile phones but before buying one I see to it that I check reviews from actual users. And if there are flaws and I still buy one, it is for me to accept that I have bought even I know that there are features that is not in the fone that I bought. I like smart phones because it looks really nice. I have a blackberry smartphone but I make sure I did not bought the one with touch screen. I have the one with qwerty keys and at first it's really hard to type but then I got used to it and find it really easy despite of its small board. But I also feel that even i use one with touchscreen, I will get use to it as long as I use it and practice it. I see most people and my friends typing so fast on their Iphones, I'm pretty sure it's no different with other brands.
