Tomato is not just a spice tomato is also a fruit, which has a component of vitamin c and lycopene. We usually use tomato in our kitchen when cooking dishes.
Lycopene is a substance which is naturally found in tomatoes, regularly intake of tomato based dishes along with a low fat, high fiber diet, rich in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of heart attack and certain cancers.

A fruit is the part of a plant that contains the seeds and develops when the flowers are fertilised, so tomatoes, peppers, chilis, squashes, marrows, courgettes, aubergines (otherwise known as eggplant or brinjal) as well as cardamoms and a number of other spices are all technically fruits.
In the kitchen it is common to refer to things which are used in savoury dishes as 'vegetables' and things which are commonly used in sweet dishes as 'fruit' but this is not really correct. In one sense, in fact, all fruits are 'vegetable' (because they are all from plants and not from animals) but not all vegetables are fruit.

Yes, I believe it is a fruit, it just isn't your very traditional fruit. However, well for my case (without the scientific analysis), I believe it is a fruit because like most fruits, you can just grab a tomato and bite it to each as long it has ripen. Whereas most vegetables, you may be required to actually cook it, or add seasoning to give it flavor.
But accept it as a vegetable or a fruit, I think both case will be fine, as long as it is edible and enjoyable by many.
Fun fact, in the past people believed tomatoes were poisonous as the leaves are actually poisonous.

Yes, I agree with you, metafight. Tomato is a fruit used as a spice, rich in Vitamin C and lycopene. Anything with seeds is a fruit. When the ovary of the flower matures it becomes the fruit, just like the squash, the cucumber, avocado, corn and many others which we tend to classify only as vegetables. But,some fruits are vegetables as well.

I really do love eating fruits and vegetables. As a part of my diet I considered tomato is a good choice for me to become more healthy and as what you said it has a lot of beneficial to our body to keep us on the go and help us in our digestion.I usually eat tomatoes in raw than cooking it until now eating tomatoes is still part of my diet and it is not that expensive too.

In my eyes it's this way:
vegetables are the plants, it's leaves.
fruits was the flower/blossom from the plant first.
So tomato has to be a fruit not a vegetable.
Tomato is very healthy (unless you are allergic against it).

Yes, I do believe that tomato is a fruit even though before when I was a kid I saw it in salads and thought it was a vegetable. If science says it's a fruit for me I would say it is a fruit as well unless they have fictional evidence.
