I have heard this many times from health conscious people.I have myself tried it but it doesn't work with me.I dont feel fresh after eating apple in the morning instead of coffee or tea.I feel sleepy whole day if i dont have tea or coffee two three times a days.I would like to stop drinking tea or coffee completely for few months but i dont see how its possible.

I guess it depends on which you got used to. For instance, me and my husband prefers apple as our perking up in the morning, especially if we don't get enough sleep, and in all honesty it really helps us regain our energy through out the day. Sometimes we eat banana instead of apple. We do like coffee but not those instant ones. We notice that the instant powdered ones only make our chest palpitate and make us tired even more. Those freshly brewed though doesn't make our chest palpitate, and it taste much better too. Thus, we seldom drink coffee and if we do, we only drink those that are sold at coffee shops and are freshly brewed. But for our usual perking up, apple is our constant go to

Yeah maybe. I think our body has some kind of mechanism or something that would adjust to whatever we would intake so maybe that's why you're more perked up when drinking coffee than eating apple.
But yeah apple has been one of our energy sources. Even right after when I gave birth to my baby, my husband bought me a lot of apples to regain my strength, although I'd have to eat just less coz they say that too much can cause constipation.

is it not possible to do both? as one is a drink and the other solid food and they are not really comparable. i could understand if someone suggested you swop to a healthier drink, but i am a bit confused by the idea of swopping coffee for an apple.
i tried to give up coffee once, but it didn't work, as i just feel really tired, so i decided to start drinking it again, though i only have two or three cups a day, so i am not quite sure if i believe that it can have such a significant impact on my body, but then it might.
when i gave up coffee, though, i missed the taste, as its a lovely strong taste, so i tried herbal teas blends with liquorice in, as they also have a strong taste, it might be worth looking for an alternative, if you actually want to give up.

i would start drinking it again then, i just decided it wasn't a dangerous enough substance that it was worth too much suffering to give up. though i might keep the apple, as they are good for you.

Maybe you're too addicted or you depend too much on coffee that why you won't be without it. Anyway, even though I am not addicted or depending on coffee every morning, i would still prefer coffee than apple. I just don't like eating apples in the morning. I prefer it as a desert after my lunch meal.

Well, coffee or tea will never kill you if you only have a few cups a day. Eating an apple is good for a snack, not for breakfast. I understand what you mean. I cannot get going in the morning without a good cup of strong coffee. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

The doctor says " an a apple a day, keeps the doctor away". It doesn't say an apple a day makes you awake. LOL Anyway I will still choose to drink tea to keep me awake the whole day.:-)

Same here a hot coffee in the morning keeps me awake in the office and I think if I will not drink coffee I will be like a dog sleeping hour after hour.

I think it's something you would have to do for a while to notice the benefits but it is supposed to be true that an apple is better for refreshing you. The problem with tea and coffee is that it's addictive and, even if you don't consider yourself to be addicted, if it's something of a habit, it's going to be hard to break. If you really want to stop drinking tea and coffee, if you have a few in a day, try starting with replacing an afternoon coffee with an apple and then gradually replace the others. I think the morning cuppa is the hardest to give up. There's no harm in drinking the odd cup of tea or coffee though.

I don't drink coffee, exception ice coffee once in a while.
But in the morning I do drink tea because it's hot and i feel cold.
I eat fruit too, all kinds of.
I don't think tea or coffee or fruit would wake me up at all.
If I am tired or sleepy I can stay that way whole day and I really eat plenty of fruit.

Eating apple for breakfast is like drinking milk for lunch, it's awkward in a way. But I believe vegans do these healthy stuffs ;) If you're more comfortable with having a cup of coffee before work, then just do it :D

what is good for others might not be good for us. We cannot blindly follow what the health expertise recommend. We have to be sensitive to our bodies needs. I am also a great fan of coffee and couldn't go without my daily cup of freshly brewed coffee for breakfast.

Hello Piya. How are you ? I am a coffee drinker too, drinking four or five cups a day starting from breakfast time. Of course, I don't drink very strong coffee. I used to before, but have now changed to decaffinated coffee. I drink apple juice some times at breakfast time and in the course of the day. I know people say "an apple a day, keeps the doctor away" !

There is no need to totally give up tea or coffee.Only restrict their intake. For instance having a cup or two isn't harmful.Continue with the apple as it has health benefits. To feel fresh take a walk or some aerobic exercise in the morning followed by a healthy breakfast which includes coffee and you'll feel fresh everyday.
