My nephew getting hyper after a few candies

That is the effect of too much candies I think. My nephew, the little kid found the bag of candies which was left over from Halloween, I guess his mom intended not for him to find it, but somehow he managed to discover it himself. He ate some of it, and I didn't know, so I share some from him. All night long, he was non - stop at talking, asking all sort of questions, and jumpy, jumpy. It was a bit annoying while I was reading the newspaper, I just couldn't get my attention of him. I want to put him in bed early, and he refused to go to bed himself, and unwilling to laid down quietly. It was a night that we got unrest, and tell him to "shut up" many times. Never feed your kids too much candies, I just waiting for his mom come pick him up.

I am a true believe that too much sugar will make the kids hyper. There are some experts though that say this is not true. I have seen too many times my kids become a lot more hyper and chatty after eating a certain amount of candy so I know it does have an effect on them. I make sure that I monitor how much they have had so that they don't get too crazy.

I noticed the same! I used to look after a kid too and had the same happening to him after eating sweets. After school the first for him was to look for chocolate and candies, then ran around the house hundred times and didn't sit down for a single minute. I was just a nanny but parents should definitely be aware of sweets if their kids tend to become hyper.

maybe your nephew is just in the mood, maybe not the candies :)

Okay, some kids are just hyper to begin with, and when you add candy into the mix you are in for a long night. I know very well about this, because my son is a hyper child already. I always curb his sugar intake because he does get out of hand. It is rough and hard to deal with. But remember one thing, it is not their fault for being hyper like that. They don't understand like we do when it comes to candy. We were young once also.

The little perishers they've got noses better than dogs when it comes to sweeties (candies)and it is bad for adults because them keeping on makes us short tempered. When we get short tempered we tend not to be very nice to the children and so round it goes.
