I was in my big brothers place. I visit him today. I was taking a bath there when I heard a voice in my neighbor that are calling for help. She was bitten and the male is saying bad word against that poor woman. I want to report him to the authority but I don't know where I could report it.
The only number I know is 163 and its only mean for children. I don't know about the woman part. Its my first time to experience this situation since my mom was precious to us and we never do such thing towards her.

I would strongly agree with this post, all police stations ( or at least almost all) has a "children's and women's desk" where you can report the incident.

Every country has different numbers but you should be able to just call your local police station and report it (or their emergency number). They will be able to direct you to the right person or take a statement and make sure it gets to the right people.
Good for you - if more people did this, there'd be less nasty stuff in the world.

This is a sad situation, and, I believe that the best you can do is to report to the autorities, if you do not know the right office where you can do it, call the police, and they will guide you to the right place, or else, they will take care of the situation

Hi syoti: Wow this must be really a difficult situation, to know this is happening and don't know exactly what to do. It sounds a little bit strange, cause at least in my country I would call the emergency number which is just one, like the 911 in the USA.

Was she bitten or beaten? Since you are not from there, it is a good idea to ask your brother first about the situation of his neighbors before actually reporting it to the police.

You should have called 117. I believe that number works because it was also the number that saved Ms. Manahan's life. She is Ramgen's girlfriend who was shot in the face but she survived because her friend was able to call 117.

hi syoti I do not know what country you are in but here in the US we jus call the police tell them a woman at such an such address is being hurt and they will respond at once. they will take ca re of it and qu ite usually arrest and take the man to jail too. they may send para medics to care for the bitten woman too.
so callyour police and give the right address and tell them about the woman being bitten.

There are countries and home where the women are silent victims. How many women are abused by their husbands and even by childre. Certain nations may never conceive this concept women silently bearing the torture and still loving and serving their husbands.

Hi syoti, this is very sad to know about, in our country we just call the police in these cases or call to woman protect cell. They will come and help us. Find out in your country too ask your friends or some times it will be published in the news paper.

like the other post. in the Philippines, you can simply report the incident to your nearest police station, the case they would be would filing would fall under REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9262
March 08, 2004
AN ACT DEFINING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN, PROVIDING FOR PROTECTIVE MEASURES FOR VICTIMS, PRESCRIBING PENALTIES THEREFORE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

I bet if you called the 163 they could tell you who to call. When stuff like that happens it's terrible. I just don't understand how people can mentally and physically abuse other and feel no remorse. The people who do feel some sort of remorse still treat others poorly. Sad thing about abuse is that it escalates each time. Hopefully, she gets out of that situation soon. Best Wishes!

You should have some sort of emergency number. It would be good to report it at the time it is happening, not some time later, because the woman is likely to deny anything actually happened. When women are in an abusive relationship, they often choose to stay in them for whatever reason and will deny any abuse to them. What number do you call for any emergency that happens? Ours is 911. For us, 911 is only for emergency calls.. so abuse.. a woman being bitten or beaten up is certainly an emergency. Don't you have a 911, or some other number for emergencies?

I commend you for wanting to help the woman as not many would want to get involved. Here we would call the authorities, or police. I will do it. I have even went to the house and knocked on the door or yelled that I am calling the authorities, that will certainly stop the abuse.
Good for you, keep up the good work and may I suggest that you find out would to get in touch with should the need arise again that you need to help another woman, or the same one.

It's not new in our neighborhood. We have a very quiet neighborhood here - but only when the husband gets drunk in two houses in this area gets drunk then we get to harm nasty words, cursing, crying and all these stuff. We get bothered but some old people living here, it usually happens to those couple. So we don't interrupt and the next day you will see them okay... OH how I hate such but these women tolerates those husbands...
As for your discussion, I think it would be better to call or officials in your area to at least stop the beatings.
