I feel happy that I have a kind and generous boss. A boss that would let you do your work, without having to check on you once in a while. As long as you deliver what she instructed you to do in the time frame she has given you, it is already fine with her.
She's generous with her praise. She would praise you when she finds your work good. She is also open to my suggestions and often times she would ask for it. At the end of the day after office hours , we would tell stories of our personal lives and we would be so happy about it.
At least, we know what our positions are during working hours.

well, I also feel happy since my boss is also kind and generous like you have. He is really understanding and know exactly what we are doing.. If we have this kind of result oriented boss then everything will be easier and working atmosphere will be comfortable for us..

A boss is indeed a boss, when he/she knows how does the work of his/her employees goes. That way, he/ she will understand what they need, to be motivated on the job.

I am so thankful that i have a kind and considerate boss. I think, maybe she is that, because she also knows that even without her supervision, all works assigned to me are done and submitted even ahead of time.

Besides, i am an employee who doesn't need supervision. Before doing anything else while at work, i make sure that all assigned works are done.
I want the company to be able to get the worth of my pay, so that's why i always try to excel in my job.

That is referred to as human-oriented management, which is better than she reprimands staffs for this and that all day.For you always to show great initiative is a case in point.

I think, being older than my boss , made her confident that i could share some tips on how to rear our children, as well as handle some problems .

Yes, my friend, bosses such as ours are made in heaven. So, we should do our best to excel in our job always. It's the least that we could do for them.
Though, unlike you boss who doesn't talk too much, my boss talk with us non-stop sometimes, after office hours. We share our married life experiences, how we take care of our children and a lot more.

One of the reason why I resigned from my job for almost 13 years is that my boss was not like yours. He's an exact opposite and it's kind'a tiring to be with him everyday since I directly reported to him. He's so grumpy, and even if he asks for suggestions and disliked it, he will explode like a bomb, my gosh! and you know what? there are times that he won't like your suggestions but at the end of the day, he'll apply it but in some other form so that it will look like it was his idea. I was so burnt out that's why I got out

If i have a boss like that, i would surely resign too. Specially, when a boss does what you just said, steal one's idea and take the credit for himself, it is something to report to , to HR.
Here in our company, it will be a cause for you to be investigated.

I think resigning is much better than reporting him to HR because you know what, there were employees who were bold enough to do that but nothing happened and my ex boss made sure they lived each day in the company like living hell so they resigned voluntarily

That's nice!
Sadly for me, I don't like my boss because of her "traitorous" character. We ere once good friends until she back stabbed me. Now everything about us is just for professionalism. Beyond that..I don't want any kind of connection with her. I forgave her but I don't need her as a friend. It's scary having her as one knowing the things that she's capable of doing just to ruin me.
It is a sad fact that some people are just born insecure of themselves. Tsk, tsk!

Guys, when a boss is like that, he/she is threatened by your ability. She fears that someday you will surpass her achievements.

I guess you're right SimplyD. My friends-those whom I am super close, tells me that I could be so trusting sometimes. I never saw it coming. She played really unfairly by besmirching my character, spreading false accusations and stuffs. Grrr..I can't help but feel angry remembering that time. Don't get me wrong, I have truly forgiven her but God mercy on me..I won't place an ounce of trust to her again.

I hope I get a boss like that too. I want to work in the office field and hope the boss I get is also cool. I had work with my dad and of course he goes easy on me but people say its because we are family and tell me I really need a job where I really know what job is about. I honestly can say that it is easy for me because he lets me skip work whenever I have school, school appointments, or any other appointments or important things I have to do. So they want me to work in other places to know how to manage my things (like go to the appointments after work, late classes, etc). Since I usually ask for appointments that are in my work hours, I do that just to skip work and I know it is not being responsible at all (I am not afraid to admit it, at least I'm honest that I am doing the wrong thing). That is why they want me to work on a job I really have to move quickly and fast. But I do hope I get a cool boss that knows as long as I'm doing my work she/he will be joking and being cool.

Having you dad as a boss, would really be so easy. Because foremost in his mind is your studies, he will really give you so much consideration.
But i hope you find a kind and considerate "real" boss too in the future.

Yes, i am lucky indeed my friend. That's why i am so protective of her too.
If i hear any hearsay about her, i would definitely refute it to whoever would say it.

You are so lucky to have a boss like yours.
that's very important when we are working, be happy with people we are working with.
Having a small chit-chat is also a good way to have a closer bond and make friends with our boss which is seldom between boss and employee ..
You're really lucky dear

Indeed Jaiho, i am lucky that i have a boss like her.
That's why i return it by working excellently, even without her supervision . And in addition, my loyalty will always be for her. I will defend any hearsay i will hear about her, if ever there would be any.
Hey, is that you in the picture ?

Then be good to her always. She's only one of the few. It's difficult to find a boss like her these days. My boss is so irritable most of the time. Even though he's a male, I think he's undergoing through menopause.

Yes, my friend i love her so much as my boss. If i hear any hearsay about her, i would certainly defend her.
Your boss might be indeed undergoing menopause , or should i say andropause, because he is a male.

I once had a boss who was a micro manager. Every morning, he would call all his staff, and we would have a recitation session on where we were in our projects. I hated it. I felt it wasn't productive.
And then I had bosses who believed in empowerment of their staff. That's where I felt I was most productive.

I agree bounce, that employees can be more productive if they are empowered.
Those every morning reporting, could sometimes take quite a lot of time. Thus, the employees have lesser time to work. But if they are just empowered and be just randomly checked, it will be more productive.

Ah yeah, we all need this kind of person, too be kind and generous as our superior. Not many people would do like that nowadays. We should learn more about corporate management, and how to treat people correctly. Like those Japanese people, their corporate culture really admire millions of people, no wonder their employee would loyal and work their whole life for a single company.

Hi!
You are really lucky to have such a nice and generous boss. Especially when your boss is a female. I am not being criticize on woman boss, but in fact, everyone know that lady bosses are most of the time more emotional than a man. It is rare that a female boss is kind and generous. I have a friend who work with a lady boss have got scolded by her since he join the company until the day he quit. I think, sometime, we really need to have a very good luck to meet some really nice and generous boss.

A female boss feels intimidated by a staff prettier and brilliant than her. She is threatened , hence she becomes antagonistic on that employee and makes her job hell, so she will resign.
I think, being older than my boss, made her not feel "threatened " by me at all.

You are right you are bless,I would like all the boss would be like that, because when we are in a positive environment we can produce and more and with more efficiency,my husband's boss is like that she very nice and always praise him when he does a good job, sadly I didn't have as much bosses like that because of my bosses were mean, and I had like 7 and of the seven only two were human being, nice and kind, but the others were dictatorial, and mean.
So congratulatons.

You made me laugh Rosa. So out of the 7 bosses you had , only 2 were human being, nice and kind.
I think, this world has lots of dictators heading their companies, basing from your experience.
So, let me ask, is your husband's boss , pretty and sexy? Don't you get jealous, she's like that to your husband?

You are lucky then Simplyd.. well i do have a boss similar to yours, actually he is like a friend too our age difference are a bit closer thats why. He is still 29. Though he is not that generous when it comes to praises..or he is not just vocal about it.. But we do get to bond, he is one who often initiates his employees to gather after work, have a drink and play bowling which is what we do lately.

Its nice to have a boss who is considerate.Giving employees space to perform will yield good results if the employee is conscientious.Praising for work well done and seeking views to get better results will motivate the employees to work hard.Hope the clan of such bosses increase to make it easier for workers.

But sometimes unluckily , in our quest for better jobs , we find bosses that are not that. When that happens, we just want to resign again.

You are so lucky to have her. My boss is her exact opposite. Would never praise you for good work, instead will claim the glory himself. Always changes his mind about things. When he commits a mistake, he blames others or covers up his mistake. He does not care if you have family or how far you live. One time, one division here did not go home. And the frustrating thing is that the project was not that urgent after all, and that he totally changed the theory the day after. Last night, he offered to pay for dinner, so in retaliation, I ordered the most expensive meal in the menu. Bad move, because he said afterwards, "sulitin natin ang kinain nyo." (Let's make the most out of the food I gave you ~ meaning since I fed you, you have to work long, long hours more). I can't stand him anymore, but, I just can't seem to find a job to go to next. I've been waiting in vain for almost 2 years now.

I am sorry to hear that you have a bad boss glory. Yeah , your boss is bad because he is someone who claims credit not his. And in addition he is a slave driver kind of boss!
In my opinion, your boss is not really that good indecision making so he grabs the ideas of others and declares it as his. If he were in our company, he would have been long terminated.
